Room was lovely and clean Great bathroom Felt the room could of been larger but done for one night Had lovely extra items & I made use of the room service for dinner which was great. Meal was great

I came with a lot of luggage which I had to carry up stairs with the help of the receptionist but a lift would be ideal. Or somewhere to keep this for the evening. Had to carry it all down in the morning alone which is quite dangerous. I’m talking 50kg suitcases… Pub was quite loud as I was situated right above it. Struggled to get to sleep noise wise, but bed was comfortable enough.

We had a great stay at the Nightcap at Federal Hotel Mt Gambier! The family room was perfect for us, with a separate space for the kids to play and relax. The room was clean and tidy, and the location was fantastic for exploring Mt Gambier. The bistro was also a highlight. We had a great time at trivia night, and we appreciated the free drink cards and discount off meals. The bar can get a bit noisy at night, but the music and noise finished up by about 11:30, so it wasn't a problem for us. It's a great place to stay if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place in Mt Gambier.

Clean, spacious, modern yet homey feel! It looks as per photos from booking.com. Close to shops, cafe, Dan Murphys is just across and Coles is nearby too. Staff were great, hassle free checkin and checkout. I like the scent of the free toiletries! The main door shape and curtain drapes added a character to the space!

Not that we don’t like it, but might be something to improve on. The space at the back entrance with the small door, needs tidying. Given that you need to carry your luggage up the flight of stairs, a lot of trip hazards.

Very clean, lovely washing and shower facilities. Although our room was on the main road (room 18), it was surprisingly quiet.

Unfortunately, the air conditioning unit gave up during the night. And as the temperature during the day reached 37 degrees, it was very uncomfortable. We spoke to the house keepers in the morning who advised they would inform the office staff to arrange for a technician to fix the unit. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

The property is good, spacious rooms.

We looked a family studio. In the first bedroom with double bed the air conditioner wasn’t working. Initially it didn’t turn on, a technician came and he had no clue how to turn it on. Later he discovered that main switch was off. Once that was sorted air con was turning off again and again as a result we didn’t get cool air in the room. We had to sleep without aircon.

We requested ground twin room as travelling with my 83 year old Dad! Our request was granted and we had an easily accessible room on ground floor level. The room we had was very clean, comfortable and reasonable size. I was worried that we would be disturbed by noice as attached to pub, plus facing busy street. However this was NOT the case, rooms were well sound proofed. Easy having meal.in pub restaurant as get a discount plys didn't have to walk very far, after ling drive. Perfect.

Room is clean and comfortable and spacious The staff are amazing in their friendliness and their service.

It was a little noisy at first but the room has provided earplugs which is very considerate But even without it, we’re still able to get a good sleep which was fantastic

I was rather impressed with the room at the Federal. For example, the comfortable bed, the large bathroom, which is bigger than the sleeping area, the rain shower. The room smelt nice. There is a,small fridge, good quality TCL TV, a kettle. The management has done,a great job with their renovations. I also appreciated the gratis glass of wine. I could hear the patrons having their quiz night but all was quiet after 9.30pm. The staff kindly looked after my bags while I went exploring Mount Gambier.

The room might be too small for someone with a ,lot of bags and there wasn't a place to hang up clothing.

Everything was perfect! The staff were extremely nice and the room was spotless clean. We had dinner at the restaurant, since we arrived late the kitchen was about to close. The staff did everything they could for us to have a decent meal and had the best! chips during our whole trip! :) Also the spacious bathroom and the hot shower was amazing!

Great location very convenient, Woollies, bakery, servo all in walking distance, Dans murphy's is behind motel. Facilities in room were great everything needed for an overnight stay. The restaurant and 10% off order were an added bonus, as well as the convenient breakfast packs that we were given... these included a milk, juice, cereal, spoon, muesli bar and container to eat your cereal. Ear plugs are also in room. Plenty of car parks on site. Restaurant meals were generous sizing's. All staff were lovely.

Little bit confusing finding the main reception, better signage on door through to main reception especially when arriving at night. It is on the main road so can be a little noisy at times with traffic trucks etc. and due to location, some guests were a bit noisy also.
