The retreat was beautiful, and comfortable. It’s crying out for a bath tub though! The price was way too high for what it is.

The resort feels like a building site… steamrollers and diggers everywhere, roads off to nowhere, clearly lots planned but not completed. The location, though serene and very peaceful, is quite far from Cole’s bay… like 20mins drive.

The resort is remote, secluded, and surrounded by nature, which meant that the wildlife was at your doorstep throughout the day. The view from the cabins, facing east, overlooking the water, beach and national park area, was fantastic. The cabins were comfortable and well laid out, with a small kitchenette. A telescope and a set of binoculars were in each cabin for your use during your stay. The welcome items (bottle of sparkling wine and water) were unexpected and were very much appreciated. The common/dining area building was spacious and had facilities for your use during your stay. The resort's location off the main road was well sign posted. The on-site staff were very helpful, as was the staff who answered my email enquiries before our arrival.

The resort only caters for a self-service breakfast, which is very limited in its selection. There is no lunch or dinner service, which means that you need to travel to acquire this. There was no food (fruit or biscuits) available during the day in the common area building for guests.

Stunning location, well-appointed eco-lodges with incredible views - super clean The staff were all super friendly and the breakfast provisions were perfect for a grab and go The 4km dirt driveway was a concern for us as we had read plenty of negative reviews and we didn't have a 4WD... i need to write this as I hope it will be helpful to all but this is part of the beautiful experience of staying in the bush. Your holiday starts at this driveway, you might be lucky to see the occasional possum or wallaby but when you do you appreciate that this is their home and we are simply visitors, slow down and take in the beautiful location.. it will take you about 15-20min, take your time, slow down and enjoy the landscape - please note i write this review when the road HASNT been graded... do not let this 4km dirt road put you off, its well worth it at the end.

Went with a group of 6 and got 3 rooms. Each room is cosy for 2 pax. My room had a balcony facing the bay which gave a spectacular view in the day, and wonderful star gazing in the night. The rooms aren't air-conditioned because it gets really cold at night. Service was amazing too. Outside the rooms, there is a lounge area at the reception if you decide to hang out there. We didn't opt for their set dinner at their japanese restaurant, and decided to take away from the nearby town. Highly recommend staying here!

Just a small note. The owners look like they are developing the area , and there was some construction around the resort area. It didn't cause any inconvenience though! And it will clean up in time.

We stayed in the seaside villa and it was well worth the extra. The cabin was absolutely beautiful and super comfortable and having cooking facilities was handy. The views are stunning. Couldn’t have been happier overall with the cabin.

There is a 4km dirt road to get into the resort. The restaurant is a beautiful room with views for days. We didn’t do the dinner but we found breakfast disappointing. The coffee was cold and weak and the food was average at best. The service on one of the mornings was terrible. Hopefully it improves as times goes on.. I think it’s still fairly new

Beautiful views from your bed - telescope and binoculars to use. Perfectly clear starry night skies. Walking art trail. Close to the Marine Farm for some beautiful seafood.

The $60 dinner was overpriced. Although the Chicken Ball Udon soup was delicious and the sliver of olive oil ice-cream, I could have done without the bowl of rice and tiny bit of spinach that went with it. The breakfast (included with the price) was good but having your standard coffee machine that gives cold coffee is not a big plus. Does anyone still have tiny bags of cereal anymore? I thought that was a relic from the past!

The location with that spectacular view was wonderful . The poached eggs with spinach on sourdough was very nice.

Breakfast was very basic . Apart from apples, no fruit. First day, no sweet pastries. Only bread for toast with packaged jams, nothing savoury, eg. cheese. Only 3 choices on the cooked menu, two of which were Asian dishes, not to our taste. There was no provision made for disposing of cereal sachets. Had to ask for sugar. Only two menu choices for dinner- at $250 pp for 8 courses - out of the question! The 3 course menu consisted of unfamiliar Japanese dishes, which, at $75 pp we were not willing to try. The result was we went without dinner. Not a good recommendation for a top resort. Please offer a range of dishes and not just set menus.

The cabin was in a spectacular location within the Freycinet National Park. We were surrounded by nature and an abundance of wildlife. The bed was comfortable and the deck was a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view. The staff were friendly and very helpful and the included breakfast was delicious. The rates were very reasonable as well.

The 4km dirt road to the resort was difficult navigating each day, especially in a hire car. The dinner options were limited or very expensive, so Coles Bay was our destination for evening meals.

Fantastic location and views. Many delightful small touches like the room being heated before we arrived and checked in. The restaurant was ideal both for dinner and breakfast the next morning.

No complaints at all. The one suggestion is that the lighter dinner option be advertised in addition to the full dining option. We had the former and enjoyed it very much, but were not expecting it to be an option as only the full dining option was advertised and bookable ahead of time.

The property was quiet and comfortable with a stunning view. We stayed in one of the standalone cabin/rooms and thoroughly enjoyed the privacy as well as being able to see the sunrise / sunset from our balcony. The staff and common area was also great, close by for breakfast and an afternoon game of pool. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway in nature!

This did not affect our stay however, note that the driveway is slightly long and unsealed. This was notified by the staff before staying and is very well signposted on the way in - definitely worth it for the view at the top!
