10 stars! 11 if possible... Wonderful, wonderful experience, in fabulous Room #13. Nestled in the tranquil Riverside part of town, but next to the fun Night Market and just 5 minutes walk over twinkling bridges and colourful street food hawkers to raging Pub Street. This is THE place to stay in Siem Reap. Let the staff here pamper you. Enjoy Sopan's infectious laughter, and her happy thumbs-ups 👍 The whole team are superlative. We've been coming to the Golden Banana for nigh on 15 years, so you can trust our judgement and experience on this one

Nothing. Impeccable exceptional service, and perfect as always

The staff was really friendly and helpful, always smiling and I think in a very honest way:) The location was perfect! Close to everything you need but also quiet and save. The Wat Damnak part of the hotel (it's where we stayed) is really pretty, like a smal village, it's cozy. All the trips we had planed were on time and also good organized (with the recommendation of the hotel- Angkor trip and Tonle Sap). We were given our breakfast "to go" when we went on the Angkor trip with the sunrise part. The breakfast at the hotel also nice, just basic stuff but good and fresh, there's scrumbeld eggs made specialy for everyone as they like. And a very important thing for me... i left my phone charger at the hotel (a good one, my favourite) and when I contacted with the hotel few days after leaving, the hotel stuff send it to me to Koh Rong Island where I stayed the following week. And this is what I am very thankful for, 5 star service! :)

I think theres is nothing to "not like";) I can have just few tips for the hotel:) We were supposed to be in Golden Banana (thats what we booked via booking) but instead we were given the rooms at Wat Damnak next door, which was actually a good thing;) The mattres could be more soft but its just me;) And you could add some fruits for the breakfast and maybe a classic coffee:) I loved staying at GoldenBanana/Wat Damnak :) Thank You!

I couldn't have been happier with my stay. The residences are absolutely lovely - not 5 star luxury but beautiful, colourful Mediterranean styled stone buildings. My deluxe double room was gorgeous with a good-sized balcony. The pools (two of them) are very nice and the included breakfast was better than most places. It's not in the centre of town but it's only a 10 minute walk to Pub Street and nearby shops/restaurants. Make sure to try Wild Cafe around the corner! All in all, amazing value, pretty quiet at night, and the staff were extremely helpful. I was able to arrange airport transfers and an Angkor Thom tour from the reception desk.

Only issue was that the aircon in my room was locked on. The only way to switch it off was to remove the card from the slot and disable power to the whole room. Couldn't charge my phone with the aircon off! Just be aware that there are no lifts so if you have problems with stairs, request a ground floor room.

Gorgeous room in central location in Siem Reap. The staff helped us organise everything from Angkor wat sunrise trip with guide and Tuktuk driver with a packed breakfast, and a trip to the circus as well as other recommendations. They organised for us to be collected at the bus station which was really kind and made arriving stress free as the Tuktuk driver was there waiting for us. Staff very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. We were able to do early checkin for $10 extra as we arrived around 7am which was much appreciated. 2 pools were nice, we had 2 balconies in our room which was lovely, bathroom great with toiletries provided and comfy spacious room. We loved it here and would definitely recommend and stay again! Free breakfast was also one of the best we’ve had for a long time with buffet style omelettes and croissants and fruit and Asian breakfast too. Restaurant did good food.

Noted that people found it difficult to find- the guesthouse was also called Residence Wat Damnak on Rambutan lane (and not clear about golden banana name) - easy enough to find though!

I love the location. The area was peaceful. The price was not either. It is in walking distance to the night marking and pub street. The staff at the front desk and food area were wonderful. Everyone was helpful and welcoming. There is hot water!

I did not like that the decor/facility was outdated. The pool did not look like the picture. A lot of algae and missing tiles. The locks were old-school lock and key. The loitering tuktuk drivers in the front were aggressive and rude. Our electricity went out the first night. Not quite sure how the electricity wires were ran but there were a lot of light switches for odd areas of the room. Steep stairs.

I loved the traditional style of the property with the balcony. The location was perfect! Close enough to the city center but far enough that it’s quiet, there are great little restaurants around the area and opposite the road is the night market, which you can go through and get to a bridge to walk over to city center. The staff were incredible! They went above and beyond to help me out especially Mr Him! Thank you for a lovely stay!

The bathrooms are a bit dated and the shower didn’t work properly. The pool looked a bit green.

It was one of the most relaxing places we've stayed at.. From reception, restaurant, bar, cleaners and garden staff everyone was super friendly. No matter what you wanted them to do they did it with a smile. From organizing a sightseeing trip to the laundry. Nothing was a problem. What makes a place special is making you feel like family. So the owners should be made aware of what a super team they have working for them don't lose them!!!

Nothing not to like. It was perfect in every adpect

The stay here was great, amazing value for money, the rooms were great. Very comfortable, clean and spacious, the swimming is always great especially after the temple days and the breakfast is really lovely with enough option to choose from. The staff were amazing and very attentive, they are always able to assist and advise about days out, the staff also speak great English so communication is easy and nice, if we comeback to Siem Reap we will 100% stay here again.

Everything was genuinely great

There was a bit of confusion with the name/location of the hotel - nowhere said Golden Banana, but we were in the right place!! We had a very nice welcome and lots of info about Angkor Wat and trips there etc. Our room was great with a nice balcony including a fan and a view of the pool. The staff were extremely helpful and the breakfast was great with a good selection from the buffet. The location was great and we were very close to some excellent restaurants and bars.

Some of the fixtures and fittings were a bit tired and the air con was a bit old, so not quite as efficient as it needed to be considering it was 40 degrees. The shower head was wobbly, but luckily we had some duct tape and could fix it!

The room was spacious with all the amenities we needed. The location was perfect. Right in the middle of town, but in a lane way where it was quiet. Reminded me of a little village within a city. The pool was a good size and was always clean.

The room was a bit shabby eg broken toilet handle, but still worked. Shower head rusty. Bed and towels a bit too old. Steep stairs would not suit elderly or frail people. Hotel was a bit run down, but this is a very poor country.
