The house is wonderfully decorated. Warm and welcoming. We were happily on the top floor but be aware that if your bags are big and heavy the stair case in narrow and windy. Breakfast of croissants and eggs very good. I recommend leaving out the chips/fries. Coffee good and plentiful. Good assortment of juice and jams.

Ran out of hot water so I had a chilly shower in the late afternoon. Checkin begins at 3pm however staff member did not greet us until about 3:30. In her defence there was a note just inside the entrance asking that we ring the bell if we needed assistance and no-one was around. Neither we nor the other couple saw the sign. Eventually one of us proceeded to walk about til we found her.

Nice room with great view over the city. Very clean and a good shower / bathroom. Also the common area and kitchen were lovely and very comfy to sit there.

We didn't see any employee in our whole stay. We arrived ast 5pm, so a normal check in time but even with ringing the bell and looking for someone it wasnt possible to find someone to welcome us. Since we had questions about parking, the room etc. this wasnt really a good start. Also Parking is on the street in front of the guesthouse, so there are no reserved spots and you have to get kinda far back to find a spot sometimes.

The decor is very traditional and beautiful. And most importantly, the warm and professional service from the staff made the entire experience even more relaxing from the moment of check-in, allowing me to fully enjoy the trip. If I have the chance to visit Victoria again, I will definitely choose The Craigmyle as my accommodation🫶🏻 Btw, I forgot to take pictures of the room, but the single room was just as beautiful as shown in the photos.

Actually, no, but if I had to mention a minor regret, it’s that the neighborhood where the guest house is located gets very dark at night. I would recommend those returning late to be cautious. When I went back around 8 PM, it was hard to see, and I even encountered some deer🦌

Beautiful home, great views on the castle, very friendly staff. Good check-in/out. Free parking. Clean room. Amazing house really and so many details to make your stay comfortable: coffee/tea station, lounge opportunities in the living room, breakfast option or use of communal kitchen to prepare your own meals, handwritten welcome enveloppes, chocolates on the room, beautiful bed decorations, room perfume upon arrival, etc etc. Really enjoyed the house during our stay.

Since it’s an old building, there is some tare and ware (on furniture, drapings, walls, etc) and the walls are a bit thin: we were a bit unlucky with guests watching loud tv until 01:00am in the room next to us.

Great location, CraigDarroch Castle right behind it. Clean room and washroom. Comfortable bed, just a little noisy when getting up. Shower was good, but it took several minutes to heat up. The coffee was good and appreciated. The staff was nice, even though we were getting our coffee when they were cleaning. We loved the floors without carpet and were happy to take off our shoes to keep it clean.

Little soundproofing, earplugs are a must for light sleepers. Parking can be a bit of a challenge. The stairs are on the narrow side, be careful with big bags.

I loved the nearly complete kitchen available for guests. The ample seating in the main room was inviting and I spent quite a bit of the gorgeous evening looking out the windows here. The guests were happy to say hello to one another but practiced modesty and didn't involve themselves in one another's business. The free-to-use laundry was extremely welcome as a cyclist on a tour of the Salish Sea! Coffee and tea in the main room, clean facilities, hot water, no problems here at all. No TV in my room meant I spent more time in the nice common area, a bonus for a solo traveler.

Excellent pre-trip information emails. (Maybe one too many?) There is no way you could roll up without knowing about the stairs. 🙂 Beautiful location, on a leafy street close to downtown. Welcoming introduction from the staff. Free guest laundry and a guest kitchen!! Chocolates in the room! A castle in the backyard! Comfy bed! Very quiet! Great lounge to hang out in - with cookies and coffee! Free parking!

I have no complaints. Our room had no tub, but the shower was great. If you are a TV watcher, you might be sad, because there didn't seem to be a TV in the room - but not an issue for me. Sadly, I had to leave very early the next morning, so I didn't have breakfast and can't comment on that. Also, no AC - but not an issue with the weather we had. Could be warm in summer. Though there was a fan.

The Craigmyle is located in a beautiful area of Victoria on Vancouver Island. It is easy to reach by bus (several options going to the hillside or university) and also at a walking distance from Victoria City Centre. The house is beautiful, big, and reminded us of houses in the UK. The staff was friendly. We didn't stay for breakfast as Victorua has several nice cafés, but the breakfast room is very nice, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Overall it was very nice, we really liked staying there and we stayed there two times (not consecutive dates).

This was our second stay at Craigmyle and the experience was very positive, just like our first visit 16 months ago. We stayed in a different room this time, also with a seating area but no window facing the castle, unfortunately. The room has a small kitchenette, with a microwave and a kettle, therefore we did not need to trek down to the common area for hot water. This was a plus. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. It was very quiet at night, although the property looked fully booked - judging from the number of shoes along the hallway …. (No shoes inside the hotel). We would stay again at this property next time we are in Victoria.

A gem with history and class. Very cozy and well appointed room. It was lovely to have Abe’s to an elegant living room and use of kitchen facilities. The views are delightful, especially if the castle is on the same side of the house.

Parking can be a challenge. The stairs are a little uneven outside and narrow inside which makes it a challenge to navigate with luggage. Small luggage is helpful. The breakfast, while convenient and well-cooked, is not of high quality. The rest of the stay is high quality.
