Superb hotel in a very old building. The rooms are uniquely decorated and super comfy. A special note to acknowledge the staff, and especially Francisco who was amazing all throughout our stay. He vas very helpful, friendly and genuine, we loved having chats with him everyday. He made us feel at home.

The building being very old there is no noice insulation at all. All rooms’ old wooden doors and windows are facing the atrium which means you can hear everything even with all doors closed. If someone comes in an out lf the hotel, if the staff at reception talks on the phone, if someone’s talking in the hallways, it’s like they were in your room. For that reason we felt this would qualify for a four star and not five star hotel. While the hotel itself is really great and staff amazing, we had very poor sleep every night because of the constant noise.

We wanted a couple of days in a hotel that was not cookie cutter. This was certainly the place. It is beautiful and in a perfect location to explore the historical center of Bogota. It was a short walk to many restaurants. The service was excellent and the breakfast was outstanding. All of the rooms have a different theme. We were given the "A midsummer nights dream" room. It was huge and beautifully furnished. The bathroom also had his and hers sinks, a bathtub and his and her showers. I highly recommend this hotel.

Small (ten rooms), personalized, safe and high quality hotel convenient located at the city center. The room and bathroom were large, comfortable and lovely. Fresh fruit and diverse choices for breakfast. We both arrived jet lagged and ill; the concierge was extraordinarily helpful, kind and considerate with our recovery, including preparing a light dinner when the restaurant was closed! We have seldom received this much care at any hotel. We can strongly recommend The Orchids for your next trip to Bogota!

A bit of traffic flowing at night, but quiet after midnight.

The Orchids is a beautiful boutique hotel. There are 4 rooms which means personal service and very quiet. It is in the heart of the historical district of Bogota and thus very central to everything. It seems to us to be in a more secure area. The hotel itself is very secure. You should not have a problem here. The staff are very nice. Rooms have no air conditioning, but all you need to do is open the window at night as it cools to around a refreshing 50 degrees. The weather is beautiful in Bogota and consistent. There is a free breakfast every morning with fresh homemade food. The room has a historic look with amazing (seems like) 20 foot ceilings and beautiful wood trim around everything. But the bathrooms are completely contemporary and look like something you might see in a design magazine. Do not hesitate to stay here. It has everything you will need. If we go back I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel.

Nothing went wrong.

The staff here were attentive and friendly, and the breakfast was great. There was no extra charge for anything at breakfast. The location was really central, we walked to the gold museum, the Botero museum, restaurants and to the much needed laundromat! Room was big, and not too noisy despite overlooking the street. Not many rooms, so it wasn't very busy or noisy.

Hotel was beautiful. It's in an old building so expect some funkiness. This isn't a polished modern hotel, but that was part of the charm.

We had a great stay at The Orchids. The staff are amazing- extremely attentive and happy to help in any way. It’s quite an exclusive small hotel with not too many rooms, so you really do get well looked after. The building is old, but well kept and lovely to look at both inside and out. The location is great being nice and central. The breakfast is amazing, 10/10. We looked forward to it every morning. If you are fit, willing and able- leave at 6am and do the Monserrate hike. We was back and at the breakfast table for pancakes and French toast at 845am. We would definitely stay again!

Our only feedback from us was the attended door, it just made us feel a little bit awkward having someone let us in and out of the hotel. More so when we stayed out late one night on an impromptu drinking session. However not everyone is the same as us and it does make you feel safe.

I highly recommend staying here while visiting Bogotá. The hotel is in the historic La Candelaria neighborhood, which has a lot of the museums and sites that people want to see in Columbia. If you book it, it comes with a complementary breakfast that is prepared fresh daily, and made to order. Delicious! Richard was fantastic (and bilingual in English) at helping us navigate the city and answering any questions we had. The hotel itself is beautiful, a little older, but still has all the comforts you want in a hotel. Because it is an older hotel, too, the rooms are extremely spacious.

The breakfast each morning was excellent and the coffee in particular was great. The staff was particularly accommodating. Our flight into Bogota was delayed 5 hours and we didn't arrive until 1:30 AM. Nevertheless, the hotel manager arranged for a car to pick us up; great service. The location of the hotel in the middle of Candelaria is an excellent location and within walking distance to lots of restaurants, museums and street life.

The staff is simply terrific, most helpful, gracious and welcoming -- couldn't be better! The breakfast was very good American style, made to order. I foun d the bed very comfortable (and I am picky). Overall, as charming as advertised.,

For a five star hotel, the hotel itself is a bit tired, in need or what looks like a lot of minor repairs (tiles need to be replaced in the shower, for example). Its charm (and its 5-stars) lies in its staff as well as its age and provenance, but updates of the infrastructure would be very welcome for a guest in 2024.

Boutique 5 rooms hotel that showcase antique design, specious rooms and extremely friendly and professional team. Señora Marta, Cristian and Richard we owe you a big Thank you for your unforgettable hospitality.

Perfectly located in the old town. The area has enough to offer for 2-3 days but no more than that.
