The staff were amazing. Jose was a great concierge and was super accommodating with everything. The restaurant was great, and it was amazing being in a nature reserve. Seeing animals fly around, lounge in trees and by the pool was very cool. Their shuttle to Playa Espadilla and Manuel Antonio Park was always timely and super convenient.

It’s advertised as adult only, but that’s not true. There were kids in the restaurant and they define adult as 13+. It was fine but definitely not what I expected.

The first thing that stood out was just how nice the staff were. The bar staff were incredible and happy to chat whenever. The staff that are at the entrance and drive the golf cart ensured that they found a sloth, monkey or scarlet macaw whenever possible and showed us every day which we loved. The food was great and the pools beautiful. It’s also a perfect location for other restaurants and bars and easy access to Manuel Antonio and the local beach! The sunsets make it worthwhile on its own

Wonderful and charming Hotel, staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly, no request too much trouble. Great breakfast and restaurant looking over fantastic views. (Sunsets were incredible). Concierge on WhatsApp and will book trips for you (which were great). Amazing wildlife everywhere and courtesy shuttle bus to the beach a real bonus. Rooms spacious, comfortable and immaculate.

Nothing to not like.

In this place you’ll feel at home right away. Well, a more exotic home, that is. Everybody has a personal concierge that is ready to help at anytime (we had Alex, he was great). The pools are genuis and the view from there is perfect. You can see some iguanas or monkeys right as you are taking a dip and sipping on a margarita. Last but not least, visiting the Macaw reserve on the proptety it’s a must. To be honest, I found the hike and the reserve itself more authentic, not to mention more private, than famous Manuel Antonio National Park. The sunsets from the viewpoint are unique. All in all, an amazing experience and hope to come back soon.

The place was just great to end our honeymoon. Breakfast was both local and delicious and with a wonderful view of the ocean. At all times we felt treated excellent. The reserve of birds and the night tour was just a plus.

To be honest, there was little not to like. Perhaps I'll just suggest announcing a bit more the Gift Shop, which honestly, I never really noticed was in the same room as the front desk.

everything ! I could write a book about this wonderful hotel. I have been lucky enough to stay in some wonderful 5 star hotels across the world, but this one is the very BEST! the customer service is a absolutely at the top of its game here. the reserve is beautiful and the standards across the hotel are amazing. Big shout out to our wonderful concierge Carlos and what a true gentleman the owner Boris is, so passionate about what they are all trying to achieve through this wonderful hotel and it’s conservation efforts in the local area.

The Staff are the stars of this hotel, and that's quite a statement because the Gaia is very very special indeed. From the moment you arrive the staff have learned your name and treat you like you're family. Gian, Elber, Marco, Ricardo Clarence and the lovely Nelson, were the best hosts of any hotel anywhere. You are ferried at your own request to any part of the resort by complimentary golf buggy and evenings are spent in the roof-top cocktail lounge and then one floor down to the exceptional restaurant. Both these venues have the most incredible views over the Pacific coast with sunsets only found on films. We visited lots of places and used the concierge, and complementary shuttle all the time. The owner was always insight and very warm and welcoming, couldn't do enough for us, even arranging a complementary skin treatment for my spot of sunburn! It was superb! Was a great base to explore the National Park and to visit the public beach which were both astonishingly beautiful.

The pool areas are quite small but the views from them more than make up for that. The tour of the Gaia Reserve could have been much better.

This was a very last minute booking, we had drove 6 hours already and was tired, I asked if we could check in early, it was around 11:00 a.m. . When we arrived at the gate and they already had our paperwork, brought us up to the manager, whose name is Michael I believe, gave us a drink or wait in the lounge and they would get a room as quick as possible. We ate lunch and before we were done eating, we were told our room was ready. I have never been to a hotel where all the staff try to learn your name as quickly as possible. I thought it meant a lot. It's too bad the hotel isn't located closer to the ocean. I wish our hotel that we stayed four nights afterwards would have had the same type of attention to detail as this hotel did. And their food was good and not overpriced, we ate lunch and dinner there. Very nice

You have a nice view of the ocean but it is from quite a distance. Still a very nice view. Everything is white, very contemporary, not my style.

Ecological efforts and facility

Very odd way to offer 3 pieces of fruit per person, then the a la carte entree, instead of a buffet where we can choose how much fruit we would like to have (certainly more than 3 pieces from a tray the waiter brings around!). Expected better for a reputable hotel at this price point as it seems a cheesy way to save money by rationing locally grown tropical fruit!!

We had a fabulous stay at Gaia for my partners birthday at the end of our stay in Costa Rica. The food was a particular highlight, we had the Mahi Mahi and the tuna steak, both delicious. breakfast was also perfect. special mention to staff Nelson in the restaurant and concierge Carlos. Also the owner Boris said hello at breakfast and was so kind and welcoming. we had a great time at the pool and ordered drinks and nachos and all staff so helpful bringing towels and asking if we needed anything. Overall a fantastic stay.
