Perfect location close to all village amenities as well as the beach. Fantastic pool area, great balcony with seating, hammock and somewhere to get clothes dry. Although El Jardin don’t officially offer breakfast, the complimentary bananas, coffee and biscuits every morning were enough to get us on our way. There was cold drinking water available all day and a fridge in the room was useful. The A/C was fantastic.

Not many negatives at all but the bathroom was on the small side - although perfectly functional. I highly recommend Hotel El Jardin for anyone who wants to stay in Montezuma.

The property was quite lovely. It was clean and pleasant. The pool was wonderful to relax by. We had a balcony and would sit out early morning or late evening. The staff was exceptional . They went out of their way to help with whatever we needed. The room was cleaned everyday and cute towel animals were left on the bed every other day. It was fun to watch the monkeys in the trees and walking along the telephone wires. It was a very relaxing atmosphere.

The complaint we would have was it was noisier than expected. The bar next door would play live music until 2-2:30 in the morning and the sound would come right through the walls. Even with ear plugs. The motorcycles were loud as were the 4 wheelers. This is out of the property’s control. We do enjoy a little more quiet when we vacation. However El Jardin was very comfortable.

The property is lush and beautiful! There are so many different plants growing and I enjoyed strolling through with my camera multiple times a day. Because it is such a lush garden, there are also many birds to watch. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. My room had a spacious verandah, lounge chairs and hammock. The pools were crystal clear and very refreshing. The very close proximity to restaurants and the beach was a real plus. I had an excellent view from above of what’s going on along the Main Street but was sufficiently removed/screened by the gardens that it was very pleasant.

I enjoyed everything about it.

Everything, the beautiful surroundings, the gardens, the fresh sea air and especially the friendly staff who went over and above to make our stay in Montezuma a memorable one. The pools and jacuzzi were cleaned every day by Juan and the water temperature was just perfect to cool down and relax in after a day exploring the beautiful beaches and Montezuma Waterfalls. The hammocks were a welcomed and comfortable addition to the beautiful shaded therace in front of our room. Many thanks to Gabriel who was an amazing host and helped us with everything we needed, from extra pillows and chair to advising us on places to visit and where to eat. There was fresh fruit and free coffee every morning in reception and Juan even brought us a coconut from a nearby tree. Mercedes came around every day to clean and check our rooms. All in all, an amazing holiday that we will always remember and will deffinetely try to come back again!

That our stay was too short, although we couldn't resist to book and extra night.

Staff had exceptional customer service. Gabriel, warmly welcomed me and was great support throughout my stay. The housekeeping staff is very courteous and friendly. Afternoon staff assisted me with online reservations for the ferry. Hotel grounds fauna and flora is beautiful. Nice swimming pools and the sounds of Howler monkeys close by in the jungle behind. The town is directly steps away and the beach is one block away. Great restaurants. Amor de mar with spectacular views and gardens is only a 10 minute walk away across the street from the waterfall trail head. The vibe of old time Pura Vida is felt throughout the area. I will be back.

Maybe a nice comfy chair is needed in the room I was in. I didn't ask and I'm sure if I did, they would have brought one up if one was available. The place is on a hill, so there are stairs to climb. Some units do not have AC.

The hotel was in a great location, the pool facilities were very nice, and the rooms were clean. The staff were all very kind and helpful. The price was very reasonable for what we got, and I would happily return.

The room we had was right on the Main Street and traffic could get kind of noisy. This wasn’t really an issue but the last night we stayed they did some sort of project on the road that was extremely loud from midnight until about 3 or 4 AM so we didn’t get much sleep that night. I would stay at this hotel again, but next time would spend a little more money for a quieter room.

Great stay at the hotel, the staff were super helpful and friendly and assisted us with arranging our onwards travel as well as advising where to go and what to see in montezuma. The location is great as it’s right in the centre of montezuma with only a short walk to the shops/bars & restaurants/beach. The hotel pool offers a relaxing area surrounded by trees perfect for chilling out. The rooms are also great with high quality A/C and a fridge.

I would recommend taking earplugs if you are a light sleeper as traffic from the main road can be loud at night. This wasn’t an issue for us but it might be for those who don’t sleep too well.

The rooms were spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable. The pool and surrounding area was beautiful. Our room was very private. Staff were super friendly...brought me goodies for my birthday. The location was perfect for not wanting to drive anywhere, right at the top of town.

The walls between suites are a little thin. These are just little things: It would have been nice to have a couple of chairs and a table inside. And there were only three chairs outside to be shared by two rooms. We were lucky that our neighbours checked out the day we moved in so we scooped two chairs to sit outside in the shade to enjoy morning coffee. Other rooms had hammocks but our room didnt have the space. If u want a hammock you have to choose a room with a little front patio. It was fine for us because we prefer chairs and the privacy of our little space tucked away from others

Loved the balcony with hammocks, the clean and shaded pool, and the friendly staff. The landscaping is beautiful and well-maintained. The room had AC so it was a really nice reprieve from the hot sun. I also liked the option to open the windows (with screens!) on 3 sides of the room for a beachy cross-breeze. The morning coffee was a nice touch. The location is pretty much unbeatable since it's right in the main square, so I had access to all the restaurants and tour offices right there.

I stayed over the weekend, so Montezuma becomes quite the club vibe on a Friday night. I wasn't expecting the all-night rave noise and El Jardin is so close to the main bars that you're going to have to go with the flow or else be mad that you're kept away all night. Throughout the weekdays it is not nearly that loud, but be forewarned about Fri and Sat nights. I also wish there were a plate/bowl and cutlery in the room. I had a fridge which was really nice but I needed some basic things to eat fruits from the fruiteria next door or make a sandwhich for the beach. Would be an excellent upgrade to the experience!

I was happy to return again to Montezuma and stay at El Jardin, my home away from home. It is honestly the best hotel that is close to the center where the restaurants and stores are. I saw more wildlife on the property than I did at the Cabo Blanco park. The view from my cabin was incredible and worth the few steps up the hill at the back of the property. It was nice and quiet and you can hear the ocean waves all night, especially after Chico's bar closes. The gardens and flowers are beautiful and the pools are very inviting. I was still able to rent a scooter, as before, and used it to get to the park and waterfall. Absolutely, the most friendly staff and Gabriel really makes you feel welcomed. He arranges transportation and has connections for tour guides and surfing instructors. This place has it all. Can't wait for my next return!

My stay was amazing. Absolutely nothing but good things to say about El Jardin. It is truely a gem.
