Hotel Santa Teresa by the Beach is perfectly situated about 100 yards from the beach. It is modern, clean and well maintained. The whole team is very friendly. They do an amazing breakfast we called the 'Full Costa Rican' with pinto (rice and beans) eggs cooked your way, cheese plantain and bacon. The usual cereals, toast, jams, yogurt and fruits were available as well as fresh coffee and a selection of teas and juices. There is a coffee pod machine in the room. Ice and chilled water is also available 24/7 There's no bar, lunch, or dinner available, but there are plenty of places to go nearby. Hotel guests get a 10% discount at El Carmen, the beach bar in front of the hotel. We went there most evenings to watch the sunset, which is truly magical.

Cute boutique hotel! This is a great location, a quick 2 minute walk to its beautiful beach! You could hear the waves at night. Located at end of the strip/drag of Santa Teresa, walking distance to shops and restaurants. The breakfast was great - made to order (i.e. eggs, pancakes, french toast, plantains, rice/beans - it was delicious!!) We would definitely stay here again!!!

The staff at this hotel were truly excellent! David and Sharon and Warren all made us feel like they really cared deeply about providing a tremendous experience. They helped with excursions, restaurants, among many other little ways they made us feel welcome. The breakfast also was lovely. It is also close enough to walk to the Mal Pais tide pools and great restaurants. The pool was also a great place to relax! Overall, we had an outstanding experience!

Great little hotel. Gorgeous pool area. Great amenities, lovely spa with 10% off. Staff were super knowledgeable about the area, made restaurant reservations for us in advance (we spoke via whatsapp). Close to beach and they provide beach towels! There was a problem with our air conditioner in the first room we stayed in and they immediately moved us to a new room.

We had a great time in Hotel Santa Teresa by The Beach, staff was super friendly, room was great, bed and shower too. Location was few steps to the beach and there was water and coffee available at all times at the hotel, we loved it!

We loved everything just have one suggestion as an opportunity, would be great if you could provide crib for babies. :)

This hotel is located at playa del Carmen at the start of Santa Teresa. Beach is a few steps away and plenty of restaurants, cafes, shops, tours in the immediate vicinity. Hotel has a lovely feel to it, small and personal. Breakfast is served in the courtyard in a very relaxed setting. Staff very helpful and willing. We stayed an extra night as we enjoyed the setting so much. Definitely the best sunsets we experienced in Costa Rica. Sea prefect for experienced surfers. We took local bus to Cobano and transferred to a taxi for Montezuma. I would highly recommend visiting its waterfall and climbing up to the top.

The main road in Santa Teresa is dusty and unpaved. There is dust everywhere. There is no path to walk on. We were reluctant to walk too far. It is ok if you have a car .

The breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful. The location was great, within a very short walk to the beach and many dining, drinking and shopping options. The beds were very comfortable.

The view from our “ocean view balcony suite” was not as we expected and a bit overpriced for the area. The hot water was not consistent, leaving us with a tepid shower more than once.

Overall, from what I can see, this hotel is the place to stay in Santa Teresa. It is located at the southern end of the town and is easy walking distance to bars, good restaurants, the beach and banks. Room was excellent and it was one of the very few places that I have stayed in Costa Rica that had an ice machine!!! Breakfast was great and in a nice outdoor setting. The best thing was the staff and their willingness to go over the bar to assist clients. Of special note are David, Toto and Luís.

Pool area was rather small and parking can be a little intimidating, but we always found a place.

What a wonderful hotel! My colleague and I traveled to Santa Teresa for work, and what a great surprise to find this little gem. It's a bit pricey, but I understand why. 2 seconds from the beach, beautiful facilities with a modern pool, and good breakfast. The manager, Warren, was so helpful and friendly. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Of course I wouldn't have minded a little lower price!

The location could not have been better. It was close to the beach and the main street in Santa Teresa for walking to get meals. Breakfast was provided and good.

I would have liked to see more hooks on the walls. There was not much hanging space, especially for a beach hotel when you have beach towels and swimsuits to hang dry each night.
