Location, location, location. 10 minute walk from the bus station, 2 minutes to the palace or Riva. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed.

I was chilly in November. There is A/C, but not heat, as far as I could tell. But, with an extra blanket, no problem sleeping. Also, a previous review stated there was Netflix, and they heard no street noise. There is no longer Netflix and the TV signal went out as well. Maybe management could have rebooted it. I did not bother to ask. I could also hear people below on my Seaview side of the hotel. Not many people were around this time of year, but there would be noise in the more touristy months.

Room was comfortable for three of us, we were just there for one night, a bit of a tight bathroom but a wonderful shower! We were glad our room was on the first floor as we had suitcases, there were a few steps to the entry but not too bad for a walled city! The reception staff was lovely, breakfast was very good, staff overall was excellent. Room was well appointed with nice towels, robes, and comfortable beds. We had a great view of the harbor, very centrally located, can't beat the location! A bit loud at night as Split has a thriving nightlife, but I'd stay there again for 1-2 nights.

A relatively short stay and only stayed for 1 night but we had a red eye trip to Vienna so we maximised our time in Split. We couldn't have done this without the hassle of our luggage so Ana and Angelina were so kind and genuinely cared about our comfort to travel around Split without our stuff after checkout so they let us use their storage room until we needed to leave. Our room was nice, relatively of good size and clean for a family of 4. When we asked for a room at the lowest floor due to our heavy luggage, they happily accommodated us and gave us a family room with the smallest flight of stairs. The hotel was a bit hard to find but it was very convenient due to its close proximity to Riva Promenade. We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and would like to stay here again if we ever find ourselves back to Split.

Amazing location right in the old town. Clean room with good air con and helpful staff. (eg. After check out our bags were stored and when we returned to collect them a few hours later the staff offered us drinks whilst waiting for our transport).

Breakfast was very good if you were early, but not all items were restocked so later guests had a more limited choice. The bathroom was absolutely tiny, but everything worked and smaller room sizes are to be expected in an old historic building.

It was right in the middle of everywhere. You stepped out of your door and it was like going back in history. I sat on a sarcophagus to wait for my husband to take things up to our room. The location was Aaaaaaa. The staff were lovely couldn’t do enough for us even left us in early to have breakfast on our last day.

Because it was right in the middle of everything it was a little noisy but with my earplugs in it was fabulous slept like a baby. It was a little on the expensive side.

Great Location-in the heart of the old city; steps away from historical sites, restaurants, shops Comfortable bed, pretty small bathroom. Awesome breakfast.

A little noisy at night due to partying tourists-but that is to be expected if staying in the old city; a lot of stairs to drag luggage up-but hotel staff is very accommodating in helping with luggage if you ask Note-taxis and uber cannot access the hotel-have to walk to outside the old city gates-a flat walk, not a big deal

Daily housekeeping did a wonderful job and everything were replenished and the apartment is so clean. They provide free instant coffee and tea begs, plus better quality than other apartments we stayed in Europe if provided. Quick response and very friendly front desk gals. Excellent location to walk around the old town and less than 5 min walk to the fresh market. No issue for us to carry our luggage to third floor or roll the luggage to the reserved parking spot.

Small bathroom which is predictable being inside the city wall. However, appreciate the individually packed of body wash and shampoo.

We stayed in the annexe room which although was some way from the hotel it suited us perfectly. It’s in an excellent location where you feel you’re in the heart of the city but extremely quiet and peaceful. Definitely value for money, so many choices to eat on your doorstep, food heaven. The team at the hotel were polite and helpful, we will must definitely be back, hopefully next year!! Thank you Kastel 1700

the hotel Kastel cannot have a better position, it is right on the promenade in the port and offers beautiful views. the rooms are modestly decorated but comfortable and clean. the personnel is friendly and helpful. and the breakfast is very varied, with fresh fruit, cheeses and salamis and hams, and eggs and breads.

the little street leading to the hotel is a bit... well.. unwelcoming and smelly. the wifi was really bad and kept disconnecting. and there is no lift, only stairs, which wasnt a problem for me, because i only had a small suitcase. in every case, the staff is very helpful and kindly helps with the suitcase. there is a music bar just under the hotel and plays loud music until late, however the windows filter the sound quite well, so i didnt have trouble sleeping. what did wake me up were the housekeeping ladies being loud at 0725 on a sunday. and the price was a little bit too much, but i think its my fault for booking last minute in full season..

Check in was simple and the staff was super helpful, even bringing up our bags up the stairs to our room. The location was excellent and convenient. The room and bathroom was clean and I appreciated that there were extra blankets in the closet.

Shampoo and body wash was provided but I would have appreciated conditioner as well! There was also only just enough for one person (good thing we brought our own, or we would have asked). It's too bad there was no elevator to bring our bags up but that is part of the structure of the building, can't be helped.
