Excellent location, about 100 steps from the airport terminal which was very important when I had a 3:00 check-in time. I liked the bus station being about 10 metres from the front door, and there were frequent buses into Christchurch. The room was comfortable, the bed very comfortable and the shower excellent. The International Antarctic Centre is about 100 metres away, well worth a visit if you have the time.

A coin-operated laundry would be helpful. There was not a lot of choice in the breakfast buffet.

The room was comfortable, clean, and well presented. We arrived super early to leave our luggage, but they very kindly allowed us to check in.

The bar was understaffed. I went to order a drink at the bar and was told to sit down, and someone would come and take my order. I waited 25 minutes, and when no one came, I went back up, only to be told they were busy and to sit back down. The restaurant was no better. The manager had a face and attitude that she'd rather be anywhere but there. We ate a very basic mediocre meal for too high a price. When we tried to order another drink, the waitress refused as only one person was taking drinks orders. Took the edge off our stay.

Novotel is a lovely stay at Christchurch airport. Very beautifully designed hotel for an airport - it felt immensely clean and well presented in the room. The movie offering on the TV is great - the best we'd had in any accommodation on our 3-week NZ trip. The hotel is literally next to the main airport building too - a 2 minute walk maximum. But we were not interrupted by any loud airplanes during our stay. Didn't hear a single one. There is also a robot who brings you food for room service - was cute and cool to see. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Pro tip: if you book the breakfast but your plane means you need to leave before 6am, then the hotel provides a packed brekky for you to take to the airport instead.

Nothing. Novotel was great for an airport stay and we'd definitely stay again.

I was thoroughly impressed with the Novotel Christchurch Airport! The modern building itself is striking, and the convenience of being so close to the airport was a huge plus. Everything felt clean and new, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I especially enjoyed dining in the restaurant with its fantastic views of the airport. It was also really cool to see them embracing technology with robot cleaners and even a robot delivering room service - a fun and futuristic touch!

I did overlook that the car park was paid (around $30 per night), which was a slight surprise. Also, the ticket machine was a bit faulty and needed a manual code, but it wasn't a major issue. The restaurant was quite busy the night we dined, but the staff were very accommodating and found us a comfortable spot in the bar area.

Easy 2min walk to airport, staff were lovely and accommodating for our family. The room was big enough for a family of 4, considering how close to the airport, completely soundproof! Beds comfy, room was modern and clean. Room service was truly incredible, restaurant called ahead to inform us of delivery, we ended up ordering twice, it was that good! Lick your plate kinda meal, so unbelievably satisfying. The 'bot' delivering our food was a highlight for us and our kids! Highly recommend staying here! Perfect stay. Thank you Novotel 🙂

Such a shame we were only staying 1 night!

Brilliant location near to the airport, just a few mins walk, literally. Beds - oh sooo comfy. Just what you need after a long, late flight. Quiet despite being on the airport door step. Fantastic views from the bar and breakfast area on L6. Breakfast choices were very good, something for everyone. Staff were very helpful.

No USB charging points in bedrooms. There were plenty of power plug points, however the points near the beds are not suitable for international luggage adapters. Not able to use the point near the bed to use a hairdryer.

The location is only feet from the airport terminal and nearly the entire walk has a covered path. The hotel is well maintained and the staff are really friendly. They were happy to store our luggage after we checked out. The location is also within less than 10 minute walk to the International Antarctic Centre and the Spitfire shopping centre. This allowed for a nice day of entertainment and food options at the shopping centre. The hotel itself has a really nice restaurant with an amazing view of the mountains and airport. The food was nice and a reasonable price for daytime snacks with a few vegetarian options. The rooms were so quiet that we forgot how close we were to the airport. Will certainly stay here again.

The breakfast buffet was overpriced, given the options, and especially so if you are vegetarian.

This hotel is perfect for travellers with red-eye flights, especially before picking up a car and driving to other areas. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and quiet, with the added convenience of having the toilet and shower separated. The breakfast buffet was splendid, offering a wide spread of different food choices. The view of the airport from the dining area added a unique touch to the experience. Overall, it is a highly recommended stay for convenience and comfort.

Duplicated payments were made (once during booking & once on site) . We called up and emailed the staff. They were really nice and assisted us with the refund.

The hotel room was very chic and clean. The bathroom was gorgeous, especially with the sliding doors which added another element of chic. The beds were comfy and the TV was big and in a good position. The location was great for a 6am flight because we were able to sleep in a little longer than if we were elsewhere and it was only a short 5 min walk to the terminals. Reception was also 24/7 which really helps with early/ late flights and check in/ check out. Overall it was a great stay, no real complaints at all.

While sometimes you just can’t help it, our view was just the car park. We heard something about being able to see the runway from the hotel, but then all we could see was the terminal parking. It’s the luck of the draw for sure, but it’s good to note that some rooms don’t have a very good view so don’t be expecting to see the runway or anything as you might just have a view of the carpark.

Breakfast was ok, we read the reviews and had high expectations. It wasn't bad but it wasn't what it was all hyped up to be. But overall, was pretty good! We had a comfortable stay. Facilities were clean with a decent gym. 2min walk away from the airport, which was useful for us as we had an early flight to catch. Concierge was there 24/7 so that was really helpful.

Free parking was not available. Parking was at the long stay lot and the hotel offers a slightly cheaper rate than the usual rates, it was still pretty pricey per night. Wished there was a better parking rate at least. Housekeeping was not the best, seems like it was done halfway and in a hurry, water was not refilled at one point.
