Super friendly and helpful staff, no street noise, good pillows in different versions, bed good (mattress a bit hard for me but most people like it like this), large room, nice common area. Bathroom good and new and very clean. Like everything else, it's really clean and fresh. And nothing in the room is broken or rotten. It's amazing. Area is safe, also for women.

First room I had smelled strongly from smoke. They gave me immediately another one which was perfect. Although it's a quiet place, now in summer time the AC noise is quite loud. Even if you switch off the AC in your room, you hear constant noise from outside. Make sure to bring good earplugs. Or earphones with noise canceling, they filter it completely. But that's the only thing I can complain about.

Especially the staff of the hotel is incredible, they are very helpful and kind people, who will give you an amazing stay. Additionally, the lobby is a nice place to work or relax including access to a comfortable balcony. Also the location of the hotel is very good, in a nice neighbourhood close to some stores and the metro station.

We genuinely loved staying at Horus House and were sad to leave! Huge thanks to the staff members, every single one of whom was so warm and fun to talk to, and who helped us with any and all questions we had. It was very easy for us to feel at home and we’re looking forward to coming back here on future Cairo visits. Rooms, both superior and standard, were kept nice and clean. For relaxing in the evenings or mornings there is the spacious shared balcony to sit comfortably in the shade with a lovely view. The location in Zamalek is great, too: walking distance to lots of nice restaurants and cafés and to the legendary record shops in the Egyptian Towers down the road.

I cannot recommend enough this hotel! I have been to different hotels in Cairo and this is far the best. People working in this hotel are respectful and discreet, the cleaning is excellent location is good and convenient and safe our room was spacious especially for the amount of luggages we had! Also noone bothered us by try to force us to book excursions! People were so nice!

We liked everything, the only thing that suprised me is that all staff is men! However I stayed alone for some days and I have to say I never felt uncomfortable they are all very respectful and professionals!

A hidden gem in a nice and safe neighbourhood. Don´t be fooled by the inconspicuous outer appearance. This quaint place has a very comfortable and high standard atmosphere, with an old school guesthouse flair, (and I mean that in a positive way, they´re authentic). Very clean and quiet rooms. The staff was friendly and welcoming, never intrusive. They gave me very personal and respectful treatment that I enjoyed so much as a solo traveller. They also have a nice balcony facing a quiet backyard.

The breakfast was of the basic kind, cornflakes, the traditional foul (a kind of bean porridge), egyptian and white bread, eggs, fruit and cake. But then again, I am very particular about breakfast.

The breakfast was very good. Typical items on a self-serve Egyptian breakfast buffet; bread, cheeses, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggs, yogurt, foul beans, pastries, coffee, tea, juice, fruit. Everything you need, but without frills of 5 star hotels. Very attentive service. The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable.

I like the room I had on my way back (n. 205). It was recently renewed, the bed was particularly comfortable. I appreciated the outlet to recharge devices with international sockets. However, a bad smell often comes out from the water system in the restroom.

The room I had on my way on, located at the upper floor (305), was not particularly comfortable. It was not renewed, the restroom was old and the water from the shower came out with some difficulty.

If you look for a respite from Cairo's maddening traffic and noise you cannot find anything better. This well-run and welcoming place located in a back alley in the city's most alluring neighbourhood delivers everything one needs after an adventurous day out: charming and helpful staff, comfy rooms, nearby metro stop, some of the finest dining places, well-equipped groceries (also with imported goods). Priceless.

European price, but worth every penny nonetheless. :)

Stayed for two nonconcequtive days. The hotel is located in Zamalek, which is quite a plus since it is maybe the only relatively quite place in Cairo. It has all the basics, nothing fancy but it works well. Staff is helpful and professional. Overall we had a positive experience despite some minor problems.

There was practically no wifi (except the reception maybe). We had a problem with the hot water but the staff changed our room immediately.

There was a nice choice of dishes for breakfast - a mixture of local and foreign food. It was always fresh and plenty of it. The location is good. Not directly on a main road but easy to reach and also near a Metro Station. Although it is a crowded street because of the many colleges in the neighbourhood, the hotel itself is very quiet.

I have absolutely no complaints.
