Nice room, very clean and a few steps from public transport. Very easy to get downtown Helsinki! Felt comfortable and safe here. The beds are really cozy. Access to hot water, microwave and laundry (paid) in lobby. Everything worked really smoothly with electronic check-in, and the hosts were very responsive when I had questions. The price for quality was good for Helsinki especially! You don't have a fridge, tv or phone in your room but it's not really needed. There's a fridge in the lobby if needed.

There is a lot of construction in Kallio currently and they start early. Not the hotels fault but it's a slight inconvenience.

Amazing location for the hotel, right next to the Hakaniemi metro station, 20 min walking distance from the Helsinki Central Railstation and 10 min walking to lively Kallio area. During the time of our visit the hotel had just opened and we appreciated the cleaniness and freshness of the room. The check-in and check-out process was very smooth and quick, we didn't need assistance from a staff member. It was also possible to leave the luggage at the premises, but I wasn't sure if it was at an extra cost, so we didn't try that option. The price was the best I found on Booking for those dates in relation to the location and quality of the stay, so I hope they won't increase the prices later on as affordable short-stay accommodation is really needed in the center of Helsinki!

The hotel had just opened and there were still some construction works going on. Luckily, it didn't affect our stay, but it could possibly bother someone who wants to sleep in late. I was also not a big fan of the floor material, but maybe it was still being fixed or maybe it's just my personal taste. Overall, these a bit less good sides weren't that important.

The location is great, it is just a few steps away from metro. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were very nice and the hotel lets you storage your luggage even after check out (if you are flying late) for FREE. Will return.

Can't think of anything.

Citybox Helsinki was perfect for our trip. Check in and check out were incredibly simple and although they intentionally operate on minimal staff, there is usually someone available to help you if you are having an issue with anything. However, we did not need to seek any staff help while we were there as everything ran very smoothly and we had everything we needed. The room was great. Spacious, comfortable beds, plenty warm enough for us and very clean. The bathroom is small but well designed with a good sized shower. Water pressure in the shower was good and the water was lovely and warm. The communal area had everything we needed to make a few basic meals, which helped to offset our overall food costs for the trip. There are kettles, microwaves and fridges, so you have a few meal options you can throw together. There are also coffee machines in the communal area and plenty of seating to use for meal times or while waiting. There is also a table with seating that has a bank of charging points so you can sit and charge devices at a more spacious desk than the one in the room. The location is ideal. Easy to walk into the city centre but also very close to the metro, tram stops and the 600 bus from the airport stops very close by. There's a 24hr supermarket two-three minutes walk from the door and it had everything we needed. There are also a ton of restaurants really close by and it's really easy to accomodate various dietry requirements here. They're very clear in their food allergy and intolerance labelling as well as having plenty of vegan options. If you are a parkrun enthusiast, then Tokoinranta parkrun starts about three minutes walk from the front door. Overall, Citybox is incredible value for money.

The only nitpick I have is that it would have been nice to have a couple of draws in the room for clothes. We happened to be travelling very light so the rucksack we each travelled with was also our bag for when we were out and about. This meant dirty clothes just had to be in a pile on the floor in the room. This is a very minor downside to an otherwise ideal and very good value place to stay.

I had a few complaints about Citybox Helsinki, but after staying at Citybox Oslo, I must say Helsinki’s branch is close to heaven. The “staff” is only a person at a time that stays in an office, because they are not front-desk. Most of them were attentive, but do not expect many smiles. They’ve helped me just the right amount to make me feel welcome and well assisted. The room is indeed small, as I expected, but comfortable enough. No TV, also expected. I personally think they should install hangers and hooks all over the walls, since there’s no closet, nor drawers, just like 4 hangers to hang your clothes. Room temperature was not bad for almost summer time. Common area has tables, microwaves, sink with dishes, glasses, cups, that guests don’t need to clean up. Coffee machine payed by card. There are also a few table for games and TV. The location is nice, 1 minute from subway and a tram station, supermarkets are very close as well. Overall, it worked without major stress. However I will give an 8 because I found a hair on the towels, the soap dispenser in the bathroom does not allow us to see if it is ending or not and, last but highly important: the concept of “fully automated hotel” may be cheaper, but we loose a lot not having human contact.

The only staff in the whole hotel, Miss Penja, was very patient and helpful.

The unmanned check-in counter machines only accept credit cards with a pin number, which I don't have. So, after 4 tries, my credit card was automatically blocked. The room was extremely basic. Other than the bed, empty table, there's absolutely nothing else...no television, no room telephone, no cups or glasses, no coffee or tea, no kettle, no toiletries except liquid soap from a soap dispenser. The air-conditioning panel was very difficult to use and it's only in Finnish language...definitely catering only to Finnish people and not for foreigners. The whole room floor is covered with rubber tiles/mat. It's dusty and dirty. Booking.com and the hotel should mentioned that the check-in and check-out are both unmanned.

Coffee machine was fantastic, although one of the nights there was no milk. Still, it was a great cheaper alternative for coffee in the mornings. It was good to have a microwave and clean cutlery options. I was a bit worried when I saw that cleanings are only done for 'longer stays' since it wasn't defined how many days that meant—I stayed for 6 days and there was 1 cleaning conducted on the 4th day, which was sufficient. The staff overall were always available and super friendly/helpful. Near to 24h supermarket & central public transportation (buses, trams, metro) although the area itself was quite dreary. Check-in & out is done digitally; hassle-free and super fast, appreciated that aspect.

Microwave had a strong smell, probably from other food being heated up so would suggest to ensure it's properly cleaned every day. For the room cleaning on the 4th day, I noticed the floor wasn't cleaned.

It is a very modern hotel, you do self check in using machines, but there is also someone at reception if you need help. The facilities are nice, clean and pleasant. The room is small, but the bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean, ideal for a short stay in Helsinki. There is a tram, metro and bus stop just a few steps from the hotel, which allows you to get around the city perfectly. They don't serve breakfast, but they have a large dining room with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and dishes that you can use at mealtimes. They have a vending machine where you can buy coffee, tea, water, etc. If I come back to Helsinki I will choose it again!

Self check in was super easy and there were staff too to get me an invoice for my company as well. The elevators work with the key card so it's very very safe. The room was incredible. I asked for a quiet room as I was travelling for work and I didn't hear anything bothering at all. The bathroom was fully equipped, the towels were soft and fluffy. They were changed after 3 days without asking. The bed was amazing too as I like fluffy pillows and soft matress. The led light behind the bed could be a minor inconvenience but it can be solved by picking out the key card from the holder and shut the light off, the ventillation will still work.

The hotel could not be better located for the price. You're on the 1 and 2 metro lines and only 2 stops (4 mins or so) to the central railway station, which brings you to the airport or around Finland. If you want to walk it's only 20 mins to the central railway station with plenty to see en route. There are also a number of trams within a 5 min walk of the hotel, with plenty of places to eat nearby. Kitchen area on the ground floor was excellent to help keep costs down from eating out and a good place to sit out rain / snow. The hotel also has a secure room for storing luggage if you have a late flight / ferry (you need a key card to access). Self check in and check out was a breeze and took less than 5 mins. We didn't interact with a single member of staff during our visit.

The floors in the room are almost like rubber (not carpet or wood) so could be a sensory issue for some, but did not bother us.
