Location & price - it’s probably the closest hotel to the station and it’s a great spot, nice to look out of the window and good for trams metro etc. There’s even a supermarket directly underneath (in the metro station). Also the staff are nice and very helpful.

Hot water is fine at 6-6.30am but on the one day I tried to shower at 8.30am it was hot and cold with no pressure. I’ve seen online griping about the decor but it’s serviceable and if they refurbish to price will rise.

Because we will go to the airport at early morning by the city train, we then booked a hotel close to the central railway station. The location is quite convenient for a city sightseeing. Helsinki Unversity is surrounding the hotel. The hotel has a long history and the metro station is just outside. When we arrived in Helsinki before the conventional check-in time, the staff help us to store in a reception desk room, thus we could conduct our city journey. The breakfast is delicious, as we were hurry to the railway station and we had the breakfast prior to the start time, finished it successfully.

Yes, the hotel is old, BUT it is doesn't affect your stay. Room was clean, good size, the bed was very comfortable, all furnitures good looking and comfortable, all lights working. I asked for the quiet room and I got it. For my toddler they put not only travel cot with nice bed leaning, but even pot. Breakfast was simply amazing. Staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel is in the perfect location for travelling, has metro right there, bus stop and tram stop across the road and train station just around the corner. There is some nice places close to the hotel for lunch and dinner as well. If we go one again to Helsinki, I will definitely choose this hotel.

Its very well situated within short walking distance to central attractions and also train station, if you need to travel around. Also tram station is right in front of the builing to make getting around even more comfortable. Breakfast was nice, with a lot of selections and juice / coffee / tea to take from self-service stations. Room was very clean, TV had some strange language childrens channel as well, but my kid did not care about the language and watched the spongebob cartoons anyways.

The hotel and rooms are a bit outdated (still clean and fresh but the overall feeling is that its not modern, which I think is somethings the finns actually like, so this might be the reason. It has some sort of 90s wibe to it. Other than that everything was OK, its not a 5 star hotel but its a strong 4-. One of the bedside lamps in our room was a bit out of order (it did not fully shut down, so we had slight light going on but it was very weak, so did not bother much.

The reception staff were helpful and informative when asked about hotel and tourist information; Proximity to the station and to the main sites was great; the supermarket in the basement was a positive. Very good breakfast.

Upon arrival, having travelled for a long time, including a delay that meant we reached the hotel at 1am, a simple welcome would have been appreciated rather than just 'Are you checking in'? No fridge or kettle in the room. The bathroom was quite tired.

For the price we paid, I liked everything, even our very small bathroom (and I mean very small) and lift. The lift was big enough for me and my son and our luggage. Sweet. All was tidy and clean. It took us a while to figure out the tablet cum telephone and had a laugh about it. Also how to operate the lift. There is place to charge your phone, a kettle with coffee, tea etc. The TV had a few channels I could understand. The breakfast was very good. I can't remember when last I had rice pudding with cinnamon and sugar! The location is very good. Walking distance to the main station, the metro is across the street as well as the tram- and bus stops. Underground supermarket and coffee shops etc. Also 2 second hand shops! One just next to the entrance to the hotel and another one near the supermarket. The rooms are not 100% soundproof, but they do have quite time, so that helps a lot. You can change the room temp to suit your needs. There is also a luggage storage room you can use as well as a microwave. Something small to eat, coffee, fruit and cool drinks are also on sale. They do have a sauna on specific times. Can't say anything about it, we did not make use of the facility. All and all, it was a super stay.

The bathroom. The shower felt large in comparison with the bathroom. I also wanted to open the windows for some fresh air, but could not figure out whether it is at all possible.

The hotel was a 5 min walk from the central railway station and extremely easy to reach, surrounded by shops and restaurants. Exceptional breakfast with gluten free and lactose free options as well (That was the highlight of my stay :). It's comfortable and ideal for tourists since all the places of interest were a short tram ride away.

The brightness level of lighting in the room was lacking.

The hotel’s location is ideal, and the breakfast is excellent. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds, and there’s no noise from the street. While some reviewers mention that the hotel feels outdated, I appreciated its classic charm. Instead of focusing on modern trends, they maintain it clean and tidy, which I find to be a very sustainable approach.

It was close to the train station and the cathedral. The brekfast bag was generous unlike in the other hotel we stayed in before.

Something needs to be changed like the floor squeegee in the bathroom. I was wondering why the mattress doesn't have mattresse protectors. The bed was not comfy. No pen set up. The chair needs steam cleaning.

I have stayed here twice already and will stay here again. It is close to the main station and in an interesting area especially if you like Art Nouveau architecture. And walking distance to many other places, parks, museums, restaurants, etc. I enjoyed the breakfast too.

It's hard to think of anything. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
