All the facilities provided were excellent, very clean and comfortable. nice room with very good mattress

Two things: 1. No staff at all, we did not see anyone from the hotel. Breakfast appears magically, but if something has been eaten by the previous guests (the salami on our second day for example), there is no way to get some more. This may be a Finnish thing, but not something I’d expect in a 150 EUR a night hotel. Should have seen that at the time of booking probably. 2. No luggage storage facilities. A clear design flaw and inconvenient. You get the advice to use a souvenir shop or the train station lockers. Oh and there is a TV in the breakfast room. Always very annoying if it is playing loudly and distracting when you’re having breakfast.

Being in the centre of Helsinki close to shops, restaurants, cafes and public transportation was a real bonus especially for the short stay we had. Given the location, the rooms are well insulated from any city noise. The quality finish throughout the hotel was exceptional and the decor in our room very tastefully done 👍 Really clean room with a very comfortable large bed. We felt safe with the access systems in place and enjoyed the inroom tablet setup with useful information. Really enjoyed the mini hotel concept. Total of 5 rooms sharing a meals area with a great variety of breakfasts included in the price and we were even allowed to leave our bags in secured cabinets until 7pm on the day we checked out. Really well thought out! Ari was responsive and very helpful and the cleaning staff looked happy and were very polite. Loved this place and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Helsinki.

Everything was perfect!

Tidy,silent and cozy place. So cute boutique hotel at city center. Transportation from airport is very easy and comfortable with train and public bus no 600(takes about 45 minutes to central station). You should buy a daily HSL card(1,2,3 or 7 days up to your visit of Helsinki). A-B-C regional card is best and enough for tourists. You can use this card also for your visit to Suomenlinna Sea Fortress by boat.

The room could have been a little bit warmer.

Very stylish room, super quiet and comfy, bang in the centre of town. Very convenient for the central station and walking distance (about 10 minutes) to the harbour. Plenty of cafés around. Breakfast was good and varied.

We liked everything, but people should note that this is a mini hotel with no reception. Basically, a flat beautifully converted into en suite rooms, and a breakfast room that also contains lockers for left luggage. You let yourself in with a code and you will probably never see anyone (although staff are always available on the phone or message). This arrangement suited us, but some might miss a more personal touch.

Very nice and stylish rooms in the middle of the city center. Easy to walk to some of the main Helsinki attractions like the market square. Even though the hotel does not have a reception, it is very easy to get in contact with the service staff and they were absolutely excellent! Highly recommended!

We were there on a Friday night and there was quite some noise from the streets as there are some bars around. The windows still cancel out the noise quite well though, this is probably only something that happens on weekends nights.

The rooms were spacious, clean, comfortable and quiet. We also like the cool antique lift which we had only seen in movies before this (but you do need to be more attentive in operating it). A pleasant and comfortable stay. The staff were helpful even though they weren't visible. There had been a concern that we might get locked out in winter nights if we returned late. This proved to be ungrounded as the staff seemed to standby all time to assist us and it was us who mixed up the two codes.

The shower water splashed out and flew out of the bathroom easily. But that wasn't a big problem.

Location was superb. Close to everything, indeed very central - 5 mins to the railway station (great when coming from the airport, as well as for getting to the bus that goes to the airport at 3AM), and the Esplanade, 15 mins to the piers. Several big squares and many stores within 200-300 meters. Communication with the hotel manager was excellent - fast and reliable. Large enough room, newly furbished. Kettle, fridge, ironing board and other things.

The instructions on the time of breakfast (it is 7.30-9.30) could have been on the Booking somewhere, or just one paper, as the application on the tablet with the needed info does not have a logo of the hotel or something else, so it was not recognized as such at first. Could have a Nespresso or other coffee machine with capsules/tabs in the kitchen, to have with the breakfast, as the filter coffee is not really favorite type. Cleaning crew did not stock the toilet paper for several days, but a message to the manager solved it quickly. Could have a more diverse breakfast (esp. concerning the salami, jams and the pastries), but it was enough.

Great location, breakfast was just perfect to get started for the day. Room was looked and felt meticulously clean. I love the beds in nordic countries, I sleep like a baby.

The only thing I could mention is the fact, that I'm a belly sleeper and so far every nordic hotel had at least one feather/down pillow that compresses enough to accommodate people who sleep on their belly. I slept really well though regardless. Doesn't diminish the quality of my stay.

Nice design. Breakfast buffet was not as large, as in most hotels but it was very good. Nice historic elevator. Kind phone support.

It would be great to have eggs from organic agriculture (EU-BIO). It would also be great, if there was a steam cooker for eggs and guests could simply cook the egg short or long as they wish. This would also reduce the waste of food. I'd prefer a clearer highlighting in the announcement that there is no reception at all.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Bastian - the location was close to the central railway station and all the major malls, room was cosy and cleaned daily, breakfast options were great and very filling and delicious! Best of all, the owner was very prompt in his communication with us, which we totally appreciated!

Nothing much really except probably the elevator in the building that's a little too small, not that much of a problem really!
