The room was spacious, comfortable, and better priced than the nearby properties. The ladies in the reception were also very kind and helpful during our stay.

We would have liked the jacuzzi to have been heated but it was the same temp as the pool.

very nice tropical garden, nice patios to view the palm trees and sea, the pool and lawn chairs is a huge plus! the staff were amazing and very helpful , the head maintenance grounds keeper is unbelievable , he will fix any room issues right away and he will give all the info as to the best places to eat and snorkel . the property is also walking distance to the snorkelling reefs and beach bars ! The air conditioning worked like a charm and they have free coffee and hot water for tea by the pool , I like that the property is just outside of the main town so you can get away from the crazy crews ship crowds and taxis ! theirs 6-8 ships a day so it gets super busy downtown ! I rented a good scooter for 8 days , a must if you want to adventure the whole island and taste all the good food at the restaurants! or at least rent a car ! scooter rental is $2O/day US , with Grinch rentals , ask for santos ,

theirs a noisy cement factory in the distance that runs all night long ! if your a light sleeper , you will hear it through the shutters in the standard rooms, I moved to the superior room the next day and you won’t hear the noise their since theirs no shutters , but again I’m a light sleeper and it may not affect you at all! The hot water hardly worked in the standard rooms, but was hot and worked all the time in the superior rooms! well worth the up grade plus their way better rooms for your buck !

I loved the rooms/property. Everything was really beautiful and very well kept.

Just the i total check in process. The lady hands you a bunch of rules that you need to sign (fine- but she doesn’t do it in a very nice way but then verbally runs through the WiFi password and where to refill water. I was overwhelmed with remembering the rules that I forgot everything else as soon as I left. It took me two days to figure out how to refill the water which I then found out there was complimentary coffee provided (a nice touch but would have been great to know).

It is one of the oldest hotels on the island so it has some interesting architecture. The grounds are pretty and well kept. The staff is nice and helpful. It is low key and fits well with the island. While there was no on-site restaurant, Papa Hogs is right next door for a friendly inexpensive breakfast with good coffee, drinks, lunch and sunset restaurant is a short walk with good food and drinks as well.

There was no breakfast as they had before; no restaurant services at all. There was coffee in the morning but it tasted odd. I’m certain they used tap water and not bottled. It tasted salty. We tried it everyday thinking it would get better, but it never did.

The hotel is located around 40 mins walking from the city center in a quiet area and in front of the ocean. the taxi drive is about 7 minutes and prices were between 100-120 pesos one way. our room was super spacious and there was a big and comfortable bed and pillows. our air conditioning didn’t properly work but for us it was okay as we are no AC fans. the water pressure from the shower is very weak and it takes forever for the water to heat up. But also not a major problem for us. You get two bottles of water per room and you can refill them in recepción as many times as you want. a downside: the hotel doesn’t have any cafeteria therefore there is no cutlery available. just make sure once you go to the nearest Oxxo (market) or you order food, to buy or ask for cutlery!

in the shower: water pressure is super weak and the water takes forever to heat up. humidity is very high (expected) and AC wasn’t properly working. (but this wasn’t a major problem for us)

I loved the size of the room. You could see the sea and the pool from there. The room was super spacious and there was a lot of storage. It also had a bar, a kitchen, a sofa area, and a lot of cool art.

The morning coffee took way too long to be done. I also wish someone had come and showed us where our room was because we checked in at night and couldn't really see where we were going. It would have saved us a lot of time. The hotel is also a bit far from the ferry terminal but it is an easy taxi ride.

Staff are friendly and terrific. The owner, Ada, lives onsite and is very available. Beautiful gardens well maintained. Nice addition this year of coffee and tea. I think it would be a great idea if a propane barbecue was set up near the vacant restaurant that guests could use for a small suggested fee (20 pesos per person per meal to cover costs) contributed via money jar which would create a fun social setting for guests.

All was good.

The breakfast was very good and there was a good variety to choose from. Each entree included fruit, juice and a beverage. The staff was always attentive and went out of their way to meet our needs. The location is away from Centro and less hectic. Chaises in the garden were great for relaxing with a book. There was live music each Friday, Saturday and Sunday night. The Monkey Bar restaurant and beach club is across the street. They also operate the restaurant at the hotel. The OXXO mini mart is within walking distance for snacks and cerveza. Access to the water for snorkeling and bobbing is very easy via stairs from the pier.

The pool and the grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept although it is an older property it is very charming. The location is in my opinion great because it is quiet but still a short cab ride to town (5 minutes).

The bed was a bit uncomfortable and the shower has a tub that pools water a bit. No breakfast when I was there as far as I could find...but perhaps due to some inclement weather.

The Villablanca is a friendly hotel, staff helpful, owner on site as well. the pool is maintained, clean area, comfortable seating, as well as coffee and tables for guests to have their own meals.

Information on the location indicates they still have a restaurant, which they do not. They do not have a shuttle vehicle, so you have to take a cab anywhere you may wish to go. At $10US for the shortest taxi ride, this can add up quickly.
