The size of the room was fantastic, especially the bathroom which had space for all of my toiletries. Breakfast at the castle had a wonderful assortment of tasty food. The restaurant was also exceptional. There were plenty of activities for families including bocce ball, swimming pool, playset, golf practice, bikes for rent, as well as board games and an entertainment room in the castle
The only complaint is that the air conditioning unit in our room made the loudest noises while we were attempting to sleep. In order to mask the noise, I had to stream white noise from YouTube via my phone.

We've stayed here before and it was just as fabulous the 2nd time. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated with mini bar, a lounge area and beautiful bathroom. There is an adult only swimming pool as well as another pool for families. The restaurant is amazing - the food is exceptional and great value for the high level of service and quality. Plenty of parking spaces, lovely surrounding countryside and very near to many villages of interest. Hot air balloons set off from the grounds and pass over the chateau regularly too. We can't wait to return very soon!

The staff at this charming hotel were incredibly welcoming, and the location is stunning! From the moment you arrive, you are immersed in a sense of relaxation and beauty. Our room was situated not in the main building (the castle) but in a lovely annex. It was quiet at night, which is very important to me. The room was spacious and cozy, with tea, coffee, and water available for free. We dined at the restaurant inside the Domaine; the food was good, though in my humble opinion, not exceptional. However, we thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. The beautiful breakfast room, located inside the castle, offered a great variety of choices. The garden and the view are stunning, with swimming pools located in various spots. Having visited many hotels in Dordogne during my stay, Château de Monrecour was definitely my favorite. I hope to have the chance to go back soon.

The hotel is a renovated chateau in a beautiful setting in a central are of the Dordogne. It is very well equipped and furnished. We stayed in the annex. The breakfast buffet offered variety and quality, in a room of the chateau with lovely views. Staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is hard to beat for a memorable stay in the Dordogne. There was a high rated restaurant on site but didn’t eat there.
The temperature in our room overnight was too hot. We set the room air conditioner to 19, and even though it was 16 outside, the room was uncomfortably warm for sleeping.

Breakfast was excellent. The room was very good with the reservations below
On arrival we waited at reception for ten minutes as no staff were in evidence. There were two other couples waiting for staff to appear. We were told that the swimming pool and , more importantly, the terrace was closed to us because of a wedding . We were not told this on booking and were disappointed. My bath robe had no fastening cord, a small thing but an unnecessary minor fault. The te/coffee in our room was a bare minimum. Again a minor detail but detail is everything at this level. We had stayed at the Chateau previously and it was definitely a better experience the first time.

Wonderful location in the beautiful Dordogne Valley near picturesque villages and castles. The family room was well appointed, clean, and comfortable. Our kids enjoyed the outdoor pool.
The check-in process took much longer than necessary. When we arrived there was no one at the desk and two people waiting in front of me. It took 10 minutes for someone to come to the desk and almost 40 minutes for me to get the keys to my room. The pool closes at 8, but could’ve stayed open another hour and still had light.

This is a very fine hotel and very reasonably priced for what it offers. Of course the area is gorgeous. The staff seemed particularly well trained...an asset to the enterprise. We received a most pleasant service for my 70th birthday. What does one do with a 70th??..hide away??..no, come here you'll have a great time. Excellent swimming pool, lovely room, food that even managed to stop my vegetarian husband complaining and one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever eaten...a gorgeous setting, beautifully presented food..such elegance, choice and flavour.

I stayed a night with my wife and daughter. People were kind and the hotel was comfortable. After the breakfast, we strolled a lake according to the staff's advice, which was so good. The quality of breakfast led us to be sorry about missing the dinner due to the late check-in.
The room is a little cold. November is not the best season to visit. However, other good things made us to feel that our decision to select this hotel was excellent.

The property is outstanding, we walked around the property and walked in the square/park area, it's really a breathtaking experience, very relaxing.
I wasn't informed that we will be living in the building that is located right next to castle but not in the castle itself because we had a group of four. I though i have paid enough to stay in the castle. Just check before you go.

Excellent chateau Hotel in the Dordogne close to the river, and opposite to Chateau Milandes, the former home of Josephine Baker, and a short 10 min drive to the centre of Sarlat. We had a splendid room on the second floor with fine views to the spectacular Chateau de Beynac from our window and terrace. The associated restaurant was excellent with a superb wine list. The chateau had an fine library/ lounge room on the first floor.
There was no lift and we were not offered any assistance in dragging our luggage up the long flights of stairs.
