I liked the location and the price. It's close to the subway. You can quickly get where you need to go. Nearby there are stores. The room is clean and tidy. Before check-in, be sure to take a video photo of any cosmetic defects in the room. This is so that the deposit of 150 can be refunded.

From the warm welcome to the exceptional service, the staff truly made my stay remarkable. As a frequent visitor, I have been staying at your hotel every year for about seven to eight days. I have observed significant positive changes, especially since the management transition, and I must say the improvements are commendable. The dedication of your team, their friendliness, and the warm atmosphere they create make each visit memorable. I am confident I will continue to return to Axel Hotel for my future stays in Berlin and look forward to experiencing the same level of excellence and hospitality. As a many time returning guest again i must say that this place is improving a lot. The level of cleanlines now much higher.. Staff super efficient , lifts clean and quick, spa spotless and always sufficient amount of towels.

Again as in previous reviews, i would suggest to the management to remove all the carpeting from the hallways ( red carpeting) looks so worn out and takes away a lot from the new improvements. As well as the carpets in the rooms, they also look tired and make the room no justice . Hope this gets taken into consideration

Really comfortable room. Nice lighting. Toiletry products provided (tho please stop using plastic). Nice sauna and jacuzzi and easy to meet people. Friendly reception staff. It was good to be offered an upgrade to a suite, even if I didn’t take it. (Suite was on front and do noisy and it also smelled of chemicals. )

Rooms smelled of chemical cleaning products. Floor to ceiling windows with no balustrade outside are frankly lethal eg for someone who is visually impaired or drunk. This absence and safely is potent negligent and this needs to be fixed in all rooms ASAP. Lock on hire bike was broken so couldn’t rent a bike.

The staff was friendly. The room was nice and had a good view of the courtyard. The location was perfect for easy access to the U-Bahn and LGBTQ nightlife. Close to restaurants and shopping too.

Sometimes the sauna worked, sometimes it was cold. The "hot" tub was cold for my entire visit. Other guests said the hot tub hasn't been working for a while and it doesn't seem like the hotel is trying to fix it quickly. Also, while the room technically did have an air conditioning vent, it was not cold at all. Take a deep breath, and let it out slowly. That's what the air conditioning felt like (lukewarm, slow, and ineffective). The air conditioning felt like a 90 year old blowing out the candles on their birthday (struggling). The weather was cooler at night and I opened the windows to achieve actual cooler air flow.

I have to say that after reading many bad reviews I was a little afraid, but my experience did not confirm most of the negative things I read. I don't know if the room assigned to me had been renovated recently (on the same floorI saw a carpenter in action), but I found it nice and appropriate. Nothing was broken. Air conditioning was working Cleaning was ok (just some dust here and there). Nice room setting, with big bath/shower. I found the terrace very nice and the spa area ok even if the latter needed some maintenance, but still enjoyable. Very close to public transport and nightlife.

True, only the steam sauna was working. The dry one and the jacuzzi were accessible but out of order. On the last day one of the 2 lifts stopped working and was not repaired. Reception staff was friendly but did not speak German. As a foreigner this did not bother me, of course, but I think staff should at least speak local language, beside English. If I were local, I would find it annoying. No buffet breakfast.

The Axel Hotel Berlin is a great value for those (like us) looking for comfortable rooms, clean, nice beds, updated bathrooms, perhaps desk and sitting area. More importantly, unique style. We had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. This property has an excellent location. Easy access to metro just in a 5 minutes walk. Area is safe and many restaurants and shopping at equal distance from the Axel. We were so happy with our breakfast in the morning, and ready to walk out to explore. Berlin is an exciting city with much to see and do. At the time we came back to the hotel we were ready to enjoy our room (Junior Suite) feet up and relax. Highly recommend this property. The staff is super friendly and ready to assist you 24/7.

The rooftop and sun lounging area could be done more attractive to invite your guests to have a much nicer experience. I had visited the Barcelona and Miami properties and they had incorporated the outside to offer the guest a more comfortable experience. The hotel has the space already, just use more imagination to bring comfort and enjoyment. Don't look at it as "smoking area". You can do it.

This was our second visit to this hotel and although there had been several years inbetween we still found it to be both welcoming and relaxing. The reception staff, room cleaning staff and breakfast staff were all excellent. Very friendly and efficient. Breakfast at the Axel was a very good selection and more than we had expected. We will be looking to book again in the future.

Bathroom too dark and needs brighter lights for shaving etc. At the time of our stay not all of the Spa facilities were working and due to poor maintenance of the roof garden what could and should have been a great relaxing area in the city just wasn't. As an aside our junior suite had a full size door which was not locked and if opened did not lead to a balcony or terrace which was quite unnerving.

Room was cosy, shops close by but still very quiet. The breakfast was good but i would have liked more, like a buffett. But overall i liked the stay there, the staff was nice and helpful

First thing i noticed when i walked into the room was an ovewhelming cloud of cologne or strong soap, it gave me headache. I had to to open the window and go out of the room for a while. Also the hallways are super dim with confusing mirrors at first 😄

Great location. Schöneberg is a pleasant area with good services. The KaDeWe department store is right next door. Easy to travel everywhere. Breakfast is served to the tables, which I think is a really good thing. The bed was comfortable, so I slept well.

The bathtub was worn out so it can't really be clean. Problems with the shower too. After cleaning the sink didn't look clean at all. Better attention should be paid to cleaning.
