This is one of the most incredible hotels I ever stayed at. The level of detail, the design, the service are second to none. I have stayed in a lot of hotels also internationally and Tortue is placed in the top league of the best hotels in the world. I have now a mist favourite place in Hamburg. Also a great place to visit for breakfast, lunch and, dinner. Not to forget the roof top bar. The location is great and easy to reach (I came by S Bahn from the airport and left by bus). This is a place where you can invite business partners and make this your home. I like the approach to breakfast. Small dishes which you can taste, just like a breakfast tasting menue. Very well thought through.

The service is top-notch. Friendly, helpful, and efficient. Complimentary water for the road after check-out was a thoughtful gesture.

We specifically asked for a room to be away from the elevators, but somehow we were still assigned a room next to the elevator. We could hear the machine sound and the noise from guests coming/going to the elevator the whole night. To be fair, the front desk personnel were very efficient to assign another room to us the next day and help us transfer the luggages to the new room when we went out for our activities.

· The hotel is fairly new. Rooms are clean and comfortable, equipped with everything needed. The hotel is conveniently located, with the city center, a multitude of restaurants, and bars all within walking distance. The hotel itself also houses two restaurants and bars, including a rooftop bar. I was quite satisfied with the breakfast. The staff is friendly, always ready to assist, and very efficient. They offer rooms with high ceilings - ask for them, it gives a special feeling.

· My room (large) had an inconvenient layout as the wardrobe, including shoe amenities and an umbrella, was situated deep in the room, far from the entrance. There was no specific place for luggage. There is no automatic climate control capable of maintaining a set temperature, only the options to turn on/off cool/warm airflow. Food in the Asian restaurant did not impress. But still excellent place to stay in Hamburg.

The location is very close to the Jungfernstieg which is a lovely walking and shopping area. The room is exceptional. Bathrobes and slippers are provided, and the little extras like a shoe polishing cloth. We have to leave early in the morning, before 7am, and we were able to make cappuccinos in the bar area near reception which was a welcome start to the day. The valet parking process was smooth, helpful and immediate. We couldn't have been happier.

The location is fabulously located in one of the prettiest parts of downtown Hamburg! 4. Public transportation is near by 5. Super Bonus: JIN GUI (asian inspired restaurant) is FANTASTIC!

1. The room can be a somewhat noisy when it faces the main road 2. The rooms are on the smaller side but it's spacious enough 3. Only Valet parking is available yet this is not something out of the ordinary in a city like Hamburg 4. REALLY -- there isn't really anything 'wrong' with TORTUE and we will stay there again and again :)

We celebrate my wife's birthday here and had the junior suite. It was worth it. They are masters at the "small little things" and "small touches" that make your stay more special. Things like having toothbrush, special toothpaste, sandals and bathrobes... or having a small cake and hand-written birthday card from the front-desk... or having all the drinks free in their mini-bar... or having a free uni-sex perfume bottle in the room... or having a nice children's blanket with animal prints for our 3-year old daughter in her crib (other hotels will just reuse adult blankets for this purpose)... or having a separate trash bin for diapers.... all these "little things" add up to make the stay a notch above our other hotel experiences. Definitely the best hotel we've stayed in in Hamburg. The staff are also extra nice, from reception, to their "big boss" who we casually encountered in the elevator, to their cleaning staff, etc. Much nicer than in the other hotels we've stayed in. They should keep it up!

Well we didn't have a bathtub in our junior suite, but that's ok, not a big deal. I have mixed thoughts about the sit-down breakfast. Yes it was delicious and classy, but maybe I'm just the type of guy who wants a buffet and tons and tons of bacon on my plate... But I'm sure other people will like it.

Very high quality hotel, rooms beautifully appointed, staff very friendly and helpful. Great location for most things in central Hamburg. Late, 12pm checkout really good when you have afternoon airport departure.

Only negative is the in-room entertainment system which makes casting from your mobile phone hard, we never mastered it, despite easy success in multiple prior accommidation stays on this trip. Not the end of the world, but annoying and not up to the Tortue's otherwise very high service standards.

Fantastic location walked most places we visited. Hotel had a lovely roof top as we were lucky enough having fabulous weather and the bar staff were excellent! We will be back to stay at the hotel as overall it was lovely but we wont bother with the breakfast as it was very average and there are plenty of places nearby to try.

The bar gets very busy on a Saturday if we had be advise about this we would have booked at table which we did on the Sunday.The breakfast was nothing special and a lot of money so we wont be having it next time we stay.

The hotel is elegant and the rooms impressive. We absolutely loved it. Our room was near a busy road, but we didn't hear much noise. They put a cot in the room for our teenage daughter and it was very comfortable.

Breakfast was expensive - 39 EU per person. We are not eating a lot for breakfast, so paying over 100 for breakfast for 3 seems extreme. We chose to eat to a nearby cafe, and we had a wonderful experience.
