The staff were very friendly and professional. The hotel has a nice calm atmosphere. The shower (rain shower head, as well as separate hose) had strong pressure. Breakfast was nice, and with plenty of choice. The coffee machine make a great latte. Excellent location. Only a few hundred metres from the picturesque/historical Speicherstadt, Meßberg underground station has entrances outside the hotel, so you can connect from the airport (via Ohlsdorf) right to the doorstep. I chose to walk to/from Central Station which is only 1000m/15 mins. Hamburg is a great city.

Location was great - right beside a U-Bahn station for easy access to/from the airport. All major sights within easy walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was great: the bed was very comfortable and it was nice to have a choice between soft and firmer pillows. The soundproofing is exceptional, we never heard any traffic or street noise. Also had a nice view of the Elbphilharmonie which was a bonus

More toiletries in the bathroom would be nice e.g. a shower cap. More choice of teas in the room would also be nice. These are very minor things and didn't spoil our stay in any way

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location was great. The room was incredibly comfortable, spacious, and spotless, with all the amenities I needed for a relaxing stay. I also appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which allowed me to rest well after busy days. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

I truly enjoyed my stay and everything was wonderful! If I had to mention something small, it would be that the Wi-Fi connection could be a bit stronger in some areas of the hotel. However, this didn’t affect my overall experience, and I would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location as it was two stops on U1 to Messburg station, a ten minute walk up to the city centre with a vast array of shops and easy walking along to the harbour front. Unfortunately the station itself lacks a lift but seems to be having work done on it so this may be solved. Value was fine. Room comfortable. Good half or price drinks happy hour 5 to 7

Miscommunication about the cleaning of rooms policy so that we ended up with two days of towels and room rubbish. On our third day the staff arrived at about 3:30 pm to clean. On our first night there was only three people attending the desk and bar and it was busy. The girl in the bar was not trained for it and was clearly put in a difficult situation and just had to cope. Apparently the regular person was on holiday so the management just put on what they could. She did an admirable job despite knowing little about drinks preparation. Lack of staff an issue but they were all very pleasant and polite. Breakfast was excellent.

The location of the hotel is good, it is very close to the city center and the main railway station.

We think that some of the information on booking.com could be more accurate. When we made the booking, we wanted to make sure to get a room with a shower and not a bathtub. Both the text and the photographs on the website have showers only. We were therefore very surprised to see that the room that we were first offered had a bathtub. However, thanks to the staff that was very helpful, we got another room and it had a shower.

It was neat, tidy and clean. The staff were friendly. The location was fantastic, we walked everywhere! Bed was comfortable, and a quiet room.

We did accept for our room to be cleaned at check in, they questioned if we’d rather the money go to charity instead. Whilst we are usually charitable people, it was my 40th birthday the following day and having the luxury of my bed being made and fresh towels, we opted to have the room clean and stipulated this (being questioned twice about the charity - felt like a guilt trip). The next day we had been out exploring, returned to our room at 2pm to find it was not cleaned. We informed reception in person and received a snide comment ‘you should have told us before midday!’ Well we had been out and had requested it twice the day before sooo didn’t think we should have to check. They did come to service our room but the guilt trip and the rude response wasn’t a positive experience.

Location is perfect, underground outside entrance, very close to shops, restaurants and pubs. Hotel was very clean, room was good size, bed was very comfortable and clean. WiFi was good, good selection of hot and cold breakfast.

The staff were great, friendly, polite and welcoming, unfortunately there weren’t enough staff as they had to cover reception and the bar area, you therefore had to wait a long time to get served at the bar if there was an influx of guests waiting to be dealt with at reception!

Very clean, comfy beds , tea and coffee in the rooms and lots more coffee on request. Shower was great, warm and powerful. The restaurant was closed but we had planned to eat out. Location was great, only 10 minute walk from main attractions. Our room overlooked the river.

The only thing to stop me rating this a 10 was the lack of staff serving in the bar. The staff seemed to run both check in and the bar, so I had to wait almost 10 minutes for a drink.

Superb location

Inconsistent green policy. The default position is that rooms are not cleaned (although they don’t specifically tell you this at check in ); while when we asked for some tap water for the room, we only got it on an exceptional basis as bottled water is available to purchase at the bar!!!

Location, comfort, clean, nice staff. Enjoyed playing board games in the lounge with our children. Nice selection of seating and games to play. Nice daily happy hour in the lounge.

Breakfast should be included in the rate. Booking.com needs to check the hours listed for breakfast on your site as it's wrong. Breakfast finishes at 10:30. The food was good.
