The location is just perfect in my opinion. It's like living in the old town (which is just on the other side of the road). The matresses are very comfy and I am even thinking of buying the same brand for my house. The breakfast is just awesome! A lot of options available and I can surely say that it is one of the best breafast buffet.

At breakfast we were asked to move to another table, in a corner, but for no reason. We did as we were asked, but to be honest it is not clear why we had to stay in a corner, especially as it was late (9:40 am) and the place was almost empty. We would've loved to stay at the window...It felt like we were grounded..but hey, our mistake for not asking why.

Great location, this hotel is 2 minute walk from the nearest tram station. Lovely cafes located nearby and 10 minute walk from the Christmas market through the wonderful castle arch. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, we had an issue with our shower, could not have been fixed quicker. Add your breakfast!! Food was incredible, fresh all made on site and a huge variety. Room was incredibly comfortable, spacious and I have even asked about buying a mattress from their provider (its an option in the rooms) as it helped my wifes bad back. Hotel is also spotlessly clean. 100% rdecmmend the stay in this hotel.

The location was excellent and very close to the historic and commercial center of Nürnberg, basically five minutes walk from the hotel. The hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet street. The room was furnished with great elegance, the bed and the extra bed we required were both comfortable. The bathroom and toilet facilities were modern and the room was clean. The selection of breakfast was wonderfully rich, great selection of salami, meat, cheese, great variety of pastries. The staff at the reception and the dining room were polite, efficient and very helpful. Parking at the back of the hotel was convenient. All in all, Hotel Burgschmiet is a great place to stay and value for money.

Good size coach seating in our room. Water kettle was provided after asking for one for making hot drink. Mini bar provided with fees. Free home made nice cookies at check in.

Bathroom was very tiny and shower head was not functioning properly. No tea cup for making hot drink, only wine glasses provided. Lighting was not enough and in bad position. No fan or air-conditioning, but we were okay in October season. Room provided was a bit noisy, as it was close to main traffic, especially on our first night, lots of ambulance services passing by. Pillows were too soft and flat. Breakfast table and area was a bit small.

The hotel is quite small and located on a quiet side street just outside the historic city walls. We were very pleased to be given a good sized room with plenty of space, and a small but very well equipped modern bathroom with a great shower. We were on a schedule so didn't have breakfast. The hotel is well located for easy access to the historic centre of Nuremberg, and is very close to the castle and Albrecht Duerer house. The staff were really friendly and helpful with directions.

It's difficult to find anything that didn't meet our expectations. We stayed in three hotels during our Germany trip, all at a similar star rating, and this was the best.

The buffet breakfast was exceptional - great variety and fresh food everyday. Love the location being a 5 min walk to the Old Town and Christmas markets - couldn't have asked for a more convenient location. A very cosy and friendly family-run hotel! And we loved the lovely Christmas touches around the hotel, with complimentary Gluhwein and home made cookies :)

If there was a self-serve laundry, that would be perfect. But it is not a big problem.

Location is within walking distance to the old town attractions. Breakfast spread is good. Receptionists and cleaning staff were very courteous and pleasant. Parking space available if reserved beforehand. Room is comfortable and clean. There is lift.

Breakfast is limited to 1 hr only, and if you are late or take longer than the allocated time, you are expected to leave the table.

My wife and I agreed that we’ve never been to a hotel that has got so many things right! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful (including switching us without quibbling to a room at the back of the hotel after we found our initial room at the front too loud with road noise), everything was clean and felt very modern, the room was very well furnished and had everything we needed, including things as simple as having enough hooks for hanging coats in the main room, and washbags and towels in the bathroom — something which many hotels seem to overlook. The bed was very large and comfortable and had a memory foam mattress (we think), there were plenty of other comfortable chairs in the room, the TV was large and modern, and the WiFi speed was great. The highlight was the breakfast which was incredible! There was so much choice, from both local specialities, German specialities as well as continental staples. Everything tasted very fresh and was constantly renewed as things ran out. Oh and there were even free freshly-cooked cookies on the reception desk every day, as well as free Glühwein in a heated urn! Honestly, this was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed in, and we must have stayed in dozens over the years!

The only thing we didn’t like was that our first room, which was at the front of the hotel, was quite loud with noise from the nearby road / tramline. Even though it was December, we wanted to sleep with the window open but then the noise disturbed us, even with earplugs in … but then I’m quite sensitive to noise when sleeping. The staff at reception were very happy to swap us to another room for our 2nd and 3rd nights at the back of the hotel which was considerably quieter and we slept better as a result. This second room was actually much larger but we weren’t charged more which was kind.

Excellent location at the top of the old town and near a tram stop, the best evening bars were at the top of the old town. Clean rooms and nice free snack cakes at the reception. Very good value as well. Fridge and safe in the room. Supermarket is 5 mins walk from the hotel and my tip would be to ask for a kettle and then pop to the supermarket for teabags and milk!

We only found out you could ask for a kettle in the room on the last day.
