The Saga Hotel is in an excellent location for walking around the centre and port of Reykjavik. The rooms were a good size, quiet and well appointed. The reception staff were very helpful and nothing was too much bother. The breakfast was adequate and we liked that there was proper sourdough bread available.
The breakfast became a bit repetitive after a week. Only having a choice of bacon, sausage and eggs as the cooked offering was a bit limited. The person who invented the light switches in the bedroom and bathroom clearly was a designer with little understanding of how people use light switches! They were overly complex and the concept of "on" and "off" was an almost unattainable dream!! We got over it in the end... :)

The location is amazing. Walking distance to the town and attractions. Close to bus pick up locations for tours further out in Iceland. Family suit is so spacious and very clean. The beds are very comfortable.
The room service options are a bit lacking, especially for children options. The hotel restaurant is expensive and also was usually booked up by people not staying at the hotel. We went at Christmas so this impacted the availability but it would have been nice to have a reserve at the restaurant for hotel guests. Could do with a hot tub or small pool. Hot chocolate for kids should be included in breakfast, not an extra charge, as there was no hot drink other than coffee available. Pull out sofa bed should be fitted with a mattress topper to help with comfort.

Location is perfect, right in the heart of Reykjavik. Reception staff and most of restaurant staff were very friendly Hotel is nice and quiet, rooms are good and the bathrooms excellent
Parking is a pain. You have to constantly pay for on street parking in different zones around the hotel. Local App is good but parking charges are from 9am and you have to remember when you wake up. At weekends you might have to park a good walk from the hotel. Bit of an obsession with checking if you are eligible for breakfast. This went on for a few days. Our room was too hot, we had to have the window open all the time which given the main road location and the noisy studded tyres on cars this meant broken sleep most nights

The property was located central and close to everything we needed I.e. restaurants and shops. Everything was a stones throw away. The property was also nicely decorated and comfortable to reside in, and was close for excursion pickups.
The only two things which mildly bothered me were that the studio room was almost road level so could be noisy in the evenings / we rarely had the curtains open for the same reason. Additionally, you had to request a room clean everyday when most hotels do this anyway. Since we were busy sometimes I’d forget to ask for this. Thankfully we had enough toiletries / towels to carry us over.

The hotel is well located. The room and bathroom are luxury-standard. The bed is heavenly. Good coffee in the room. The front desk staff were helpful and as we checked in the person on duty (I don't recall her name but she's from Albania originally) was very friendly and gave tips on where to eat - including the Posthus food hall, which became our go-to place.
Our first of three nights there was uncomfortable because it was too hot. There is supposed to be climate control (though it is not air conditioning) and we set the temperature at the lowest setting, 18 degrees Celsius, but it never got cool throughout the night. Maintenance checked it out the next day. Not sure that helped but what did help is I asked for an extra sheet, and we used that without the comforter for the rest of the nights, and that worked out fine.

The food at the in-hotel restaurant was excellent. The included breakfasts were generous and well set up. The bed was super comfortable. The water was always hot and the cold water pure. The in-room selection of tea and coffee was better than what other hotels offer. The staff were patient, helpful, and cheery. The location can not be beat.
Nothing. I stayed 5 nights and it was perfect.

Very convenient location, conducive to restaurants, bars, and exploring the city. Breakfast was very extensive and had something for every taste. I appreciated having a room on the front of the hotel, facing the nice park and residential neighborhood across the street.
Room furniture was not comfortable for someone my size (6' tall), and I couldn't get the window open. I was often overly warm. Breakfast could use a cheaper, continental version to the full menu (I skipped entirely on day 2). Hotel was expensive, but I can't judge how rates compared to other area hotels.

Fantastic hotel in an ideal location. Short stroll to the central area of Reykjavik. Rooms are excellent, comfortable bed, good shower and very nicely appointed. Staff are attentive and polite. Nice bar area and restaurant. The included breakfast is excellent and would highly recommend this, particularly if you are booking tours as it sets you up well for the day without the need to go looking for cafes etc. Throughly recommended staying here

Amazing hotel with a lovely little spa to unwind after all your adventures! The breakfast is top class we loved everything on offer. Great location next to lots of restaurants and right across from the pond station stop for bus tour pick up and drop off. Highly recommend
They didn’t clean the room every day , you had to request it, which I didn’t like. I think a hotel at this price point should be cleaning the room and making the beds every day without request.

The location is excellent for food and drink and also close to Bus Stop 1,2 and 3 for excursions. Staff, especially the breakfast crew, are a credit to the hotel. Reasonably quiet in the room given its location. Modern decor, nice rooms of a reasonable size. USB-A sockets next to each side of the bed. Monsoon shower.
Just that little bit too expensive. Coffee wasn't replenished each day like it was the last time I stayed. But I am being picky here.
