Hotel Grimsborgir was wonderful! The staff were exceptional and friendly. They even notified us when to go outside to see the northern lights. Our apartment was spacious for 7 adults and exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was great and a definite plus! We ate dinner there a few times after a long day and it was delicious.

When I booked our stay on booking.com, it defaulted me to the currency Euro not Kronos (Iceland) and the conversion was much higher. I was also overcharged and had to straighten it out with my credit card.

Fantastic facilities, hot tub was a plus! Rooms were spacious and the living area was lovely for group hang-outs. Breakfast was delicious - such a spread.

Unfortunately there seemed to be some miscommunication / misinformation on the listing - our listing clearly stated that the property came with a kitchen, but the actual unit did not. Hotel staff were very friendly though, and offered to have us cook / use the kitchen in another unit for dinner. It was inconvenient but overall not a huge issue.

Location ,breakfast,reception,place value everything was more than perfect also the staff were more than friendly and co-operative. Furthermore, they helped us with our plan which we did for the activities and the place we want to see by booking and advising. The hotel is in the countryside but you will find a markts and resturats along with gas stations very nearby.

Beautiful setup in cottage style. We had a junior suite for us and a deluxe room for the kids. Both were great. Particularly junior suite was very spacious with a beautiful bath with open shower. The atmosphere around is utterly beautiful. Private hot tubs right outside.

While the team strives for best service you feel that many are not long time trained in the bussiness but rather enjoy seasonal work as students etc. More could be expected from 5 star property with prices close to LHW hotels. But overall sleep had a wonderful time and we’re well served.

We loved staying here! Though we got in late during a wind/rainstorm and initially missed the building to check-in, once finding it, we loved staying here! The rooms were beautiful, cozy, had a big beautiful bathroom, lots of space, and comfy beds. We loved the sitting area outside of our room and kitchen, where we were able to refill waterbottles before our adventures each day. We also enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking. The breakfast had everything we could have wanted and was a great start to our day each day. Definitely recommend staying here.

Lovely hotel situated with great views of the Icelandic countryside. Fast WiFi and beds were super comfy! Breakfast was delicious too.

Sadly only 2/4 hot tubs available to us had water in, and the button to make the hot tub bubbles work didn’t work in either tub! At least the views were great!

Lovely property, great location for the golden circle. Dinner and breakfast were both good. Rooms were very clean and tidy.

The room was boiling hot! The heating was on when we arrived and it was boiling so we immediately turned it down, however the room didn’t cool down all night so we had to sleep with the door open in December which was then also difficult due to the wind!

Remote location, but close to attractions. Spacious 2 bedroom apartment, soft pillow!!! Floor heating. High variety of hot and cold food and drinks for breakfast.

Noisy refrigerator and no proper sound insulation from neighboring apartment. Adding new towels every day and pilling it up, while we obviously not needed more. Odd location for the hot tub outside of the apartment. Quality of coffee for breakfast was poor, no taste.

Was a great location, we got to see the northern lights at night. Staff were on hand to help with some questions. The room was beautiful with a really comfortable bed and clean facilities. The breakfast was amazing too. Staff all friendly :)

Of course the price reflects the quality, though would only like to have paid a bit less that’s all :)

Very helpful staff. Nice newly built block of rooms with communal area if you are a larger party.

The communal area has mountain view the individual rooms do not - so this was a disappointment. Daily room service requested - first day didn't leave us any towels, second day room not cleaned or made up when we arrived back. Both rectified quickly.
