We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights in mid-August, and it was a pleasant experience. The weather was great, so we spent most of our time exploring the beautiful outdoors. While the hotel isn’t the most modern, it has a cozy and comfortable atmosphere that made us feel at home. The staff were very friendly and provided us with all the information we needed for our outings. I highly recommend the breakfast. The variety of foods was impressive, with some of the vegetables being locally grown, which added a nice touch. The bread was particularly delicious and a highlight of our mornings. The common room was another nice feature. Even late at night, it was a great place to relax, whether you wanted to make a cup of tea, watch TV, or play some board games. I also have to mention the dogs at the hotel – they were well-behaved and added to the homey feel of the place.

Good hotel to stay for 1-2 nights to see all terrific things arround. Comfortable location- clise to main road but cosy and calm aria.Rooms clean but vey small and simple.Reception desk is opeen from 7.30 till 22.00 which is convenient if you check-in late evening. Staff are welcome and helpful! There are dinning room in the main building, there are you have free tea and coffee and hot water any time during the day. This dinning room you can use any time (open 7.30-23.00) you want. Also you can pay extra 3000kron and have a hotel buffet breakfast with enough meal choice. Hot tubes included.

Lovely cottages in a perfect place to start or finish the golden circle. 2 very nice hot tubs with different temperatures. You share the bathroom as expected but there's also a little sink in the room which is very much appreciated!! The host was lovely! Also it was extremely clean! Oh and also there's a very nice viking restaurant 5 min drive down the road, definitely worth it.

Maybe the only thing is that the beds are very very soft which I love but it's definitely not for everyone.

We liked the hotel a lot. The room was small but cosy, and the shared bathroom was clean. We liked the hot pools. The hosts are very friendly and offer a superb breakfast (not included, but the room's price without breakfast is cheaper than in other places, so it is worth it). The location is close to Selfoss, which is a great base to visit the Golden Circle. We recommend it and would definitely rebook.

The overall structure is perhaps a bit old and could do with some renewing, although nothing was really wrong with it. The hosts could perhaps consider offering some dinner, especially considering how great their breakfast is.

The room accommodated the four of us really well and the beds were quite comfortable. It was also nice that each bed had an extra wool blanket. We enjoyed the hot tub as well.

We didn't realize that the breakfast wasn't included in the cost of our room. We started serving ourselves from the awesome spread of food and then we were told it wasn't included. The gentleman was very kind in explaining to us and apologized that the hotel had not made that clear. We loved the breakfast and paid for it.

One of the best accomodation out of seven we stayed. Outdoor hot tub is great. You can buy breakfast for 2500 ISK/person, it's great, several homemade jams, salad from their garden, sliced smoked lamb, skyr, etc. Modern and clean room, good value for money. Good location to explore the Golden Circle.

The hotel serves a truly amazing breakfast. Since our plane was devastatingly delayed, we arrived around 4 am and the managers were kind enough to leave the keys to our room prepared for us. The hotel is basically just a number of bungalows and the bathroom is being shared just between two or three rooms in each bungalow - therefore it is clean and private enough. Not very far from the Reykjadalur Thermal Bathing Pools.

The walls of the room are quite thin, so we have been woken up by our neighbours early in the morning, who were just doing their regular morning routine, not especially loudly. But to be honest, we had arrived at 4 am, so they probably thought they were the only guests in the bungalow and didn't need to be considerate of anyone else sleeping.

Although Hotel Hjardarbol is located just right to the Icelandic Ring Road, it is somewhat hidden what makes it very quiet and gives it a feeling of being somewhat remote and therefore calm. Its facilities are kind of basic, yet very comfortable and the hot tubs are a big plus. However, what makes this place really special is the fantastic staff. We really enjoyed a (bright) evening conversation with them and our little boy had a friend and dozens of toys to play with. I'd definitely stay there again if we come around Selfoss in future.

Don't know, really. Maybe a little bigger table to have a breakfast in the room if it's too cold to have it outside would help.

Such a lovely place. Nice and cozy rooms. Beautiful surrounding. Very welcoming host. Close to the ring road. They have a common kitchen -dining area for the guests where you can warm your food , get warm water and have food and tea/coffee.

Very calm and located in the perfect location for exploring south Iceland. Easy to access attractions in golden circle and also feel like home away from home.
