Located on a small hill not too far from the town of Selfoss, this is a small guesthouse in a calm and pleasant setting, with a beautiful view from the window and peaceful surroundings. There is a parking lot right by the entrance to the guesthouse. We arrived later into the evening and were able to check-in towards 10 PM. The common area was sparkling clean, and so was the room - the guests are encouraged to store their shoes at the shoe rack by the entrance to avoid bringing any dirt into the house. The WIFI worked decently well, and we were pleased with the breakfast - it was sufficient to set up up for the day. Hairdryers are centrally stored by reception, and you need to grab one before going into the shower. Overall, decent guesthouse with one thing that I would consider changing.

The reason why I cannot mark this guesthouse at 9 or 10 has to do with the fact that there was no shower gel / shampoo in the bathroom. F or the price (and I would imagine adding a humble shampoo wouldn't cost a leg), including a shampoo/shower gel should not have been an issue. And for the travellers who landed in the country on the evening before checking in, we didn't think to visit a supermarket to buy some shower gel/shampoo - and funnily enough, we bought it right thereafter, and we didn't need it throughout our trip in Iceland.

VERY cute accommodation, set on the outskirts of Selfoss and within easy reach of major sites. Hosts were very kind and helpful in providing tips. They were also reachable in case of questions or requests. As the comments say, the temperature is centrally controlled. When we asked the hosts, they turned up the heat for us.

Unfortunately as comments state below, the hot tub and sauna are not hot/warm :( this meant that we were not really able to take advantage of the facilities during our stay. We kindly suggest that the hosts fix these, as this is one of the primary attracting factors of the location.

We love the breakfast. Hosts make sure that we had enough and they were attentive until we finish eating. The breakfast has everything, cereals, seeds, pancakes, eggs, bread, meats, and so on. The place could be seen as little and simple but the truth is that once you are in, the ambient is very cozy, nice, clean and comfortable. Another thing is that is near from everywhere between the city, golden circle or if you need to go to the beach. Please not hesistate when the rooms are available. We really enjoy the sauna also!!! My family and I went to 3 different types of stays> cottage, hotels and houses in Iceland but this will keep in our hearts!!!

We travel extensively for work and pleasure. This was our first stay in a guesthouse in Iceland. We were satisfied with our room and private bathroom. The beds were comfy and there was a small desk and closet cube to hang coats. We had space on the floor for our backpacks (luggage). The hot tub was amazing!! The spa was also very nice. Breakfast was good.

The bathroom floor was very slippery when water would leak out of the shower surround. My husband actually slipped and fell during the night. Maybe an extra floor towel or bath rug would be helpful. Extra hooks in bathroom to hang wet bathing suits after the hot tub.

This was the most perfect spot for discovering south Iceland. We were able to take three incredible packed days trips in three days and enjoy the hot tub and sauna on our return. Breakfast was so lovely, and waffles an absolute highlight and great coffee. Every evening we were able to use the microwave and hot water to heat up supplies and have hot drinks which was great. The location was perfect, 1.5 hrs from the airport, 1hr to the capital, 1.5 hrs from Vik. Selfoss was in easy distance with a great supermarket, bakeries and a bar or two and rural enough that you may just catch the lights if you’re lucky! The family team were so kind, helpful and gave us lots of great tips on where to go. The guide book they provided in advance and in the rooms was far better than the rough guide I had brought and had some brilliant and much quieter places to visit off the main tourist trail. Absolutely loved the guesthouse, we stayed for 4 nights and could not have wanted more! Thank you for a really brilliant stay!

It was perfect for us! (One adult and three kids/teens)

The polish couple that worked in the guesthouse were absolutely amazing! They gave us amazing information regarding day trips and were super friendly. And they made an extended stay for us possible. The breakfast as mentioned by a lot of others is really good!

One thing we realized during our stay is that the walls are super thin. So we could hear everything from the neighbouring room, which was not bothering us until we had louder neighbours during our last night. Just something to keep in mind.

It was right off the road, yet peaceful in a wide open space, check in was a self check in (your key is in an envelope with your name and room # on it and breakfast was really good with a lot of selections and staff were really nice whenever we do see them. One was even concerned for us when he thought we were heading out east because there has been warning of high winds. Everyone was really nice

It’s a very basic property and room. There’s no shampoo, conditioner or body soap (just regular soap), bathrooms were small and shower gets easily flooded. The room itself was small and bare bones basic with only a table not even decor or any TV. Our room was right in front of the main dining area so it was a little noisy in the morning when we wanted to sleep in and was noisy in the evening with groups of people socializing. It was fine to stay one night but I don’t think it will be comfortable if it was for longer than that. It’s a little confusing when there’s no staff around physically but I think they’re nearby and you can call them if you need help. I haven’t tried the sauna or hot tub so I can’t attest to that.

Staff was very friendly and personable. They even gave suggestions around where to travel, some of the best sights and hidden gems. One of the owners is a former tour guide so he knows his stuff! Breakfast was great, they had the most delicious home made rhubarb jam. Its a quiet, homey destination outside of Selfoss with only a 10 minute drive to get into town. Decent views of local topography, sometimes can even spot snowcapped Hekla to the east. Obviously the sauna and geothermal hot tub were big hits after long days hiking.

Nothing!

the breakfast was delicious! the hot tub was also very nice (and we were the only ones using it so basically it was a private hot tub for us ! ) the hosts were very very friendly, they even helped us plan the activities for the next day!

the sauna was not very hot, i think it is not well insulated. luckily everyone was very mindful during our stay but you can hear very loud when someone is walking in the corridor

Love that the property has a cosy, homely feel and you have a self check in. We loved the waffle breakfast and choice on offer. We did have to eat quickly and run as we had a horse riding day to get to. Friendly staff.

For us Brits, a kettle would be useful as the hot water in flasks was sometimes not quite hot enough. Also some milk for tea would be great, we had to pop to the shops to buy some. The third bed in the family room was a little small for an adult.
