- lovely view of backwaters - free on site activities such as badminton, archery, bicycling, swimming pool - free tea time from 4.30pm-5.30pm serving chai and some snacks like banana fritters - location was clean, nice and quiet - lakeroom view was spacious and very comfortable - spa facilities available even though we did not use it. - ability to pay for room using international card

- Was made to wait 45 minutes to check in even though we arrived at 4pm, way later than official check in time. - lady at check in counter was abrupt when I asked if there were other food places in the surrounding area. Her immediate response was that outside food was not allowed into the premises. - we were given the room upstairs and only one door separated us from the next room. Walls were not very insulated. I could hear my neighbor’s phone alarm. - food was pricey and location was such that you are made to eat at the in house restaurant

Loved everything. The location the views the food the staff and the spa. Vishnu indraja and team at the restaurant, chef Prateesh and team in the kitchen, aswathy and team at the front desk and abhi and the other therapist at the spa and Madhu and team at the security were all fantastic and made our holiday truly memorable and special. Everything is reasonably priced and good value for money. The serene scenic backwaters bordering the property adds a surreal effect to this property. Will definitely go back here every year and recommend to anyone looking for a leisure vacation and I am told they also host small weddings and other ceremonies.

Nothing to not like.

This is a wonderful property - with just about 28 cottages in varying sizes. We were a family of 4 adults and during our stay, we experienced the Suite, the Pool Villa, the Stream Villa and the Lake view room across 5D /4N. Right from check-in to check-out, everything was seamless. The entire team at the resort was extremely courteous and hospitable - going out of their way to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Special shout out to Mr.Vishnu, Mr. Mithun from the F&B team and Ms. Aswathi from the Front Office for the excellent arrangements. Chef Prateesh and his team took good care of us during our stay as well. A wonderful experience - definitely worth coming back to.

We booked lakeside view and stream view room. Definitely recommend the lakeside view room as the location of this Hotel is very well placed facing the Backwaters. The staff upon arrival were very friendly. Sorry if I have misspelt any names but special compliments go out to: Febi/Femi who was very sweet in giving us a tour and guiding us to our rooms. We met Vishnu at the restaurant who was really helpful in recommending what to eat as one of our guests fell ill. Also, we met the exec chef Pratheesh who always made the effort to talk to guests and the same with us. We will very much miss Vishnu and Pratheesh, nice guys and wish them all the best!

The only thing I found was that there were no hand towels in both rooms. I requested this and only received it after a couple of times of calling. The other room didn’t receive any.

Lots of good facilities to make use of including but not limited to a pool, gym, Tusker’s Bar, fishing (tiny fish) and spa. Very attentive and friendly staff. The restaurant on site is great and our stay included breakfast. The chef was incredibly friendly and comes to check in after your meal. There was also a high tea in the afternoon where you could enjoy tea and baked goods with a lovely view of the backwaters!

During prime time pool hours (11am - 5pm) they were de-weeding the entire pool area with a very loud pressure washer. We understand this needs to be done at some point but it was a bit disappointing as we’d booked our stay to primarily enjoy the pool. It could have also been made a bit clearer that 18% additional charges would be added to our dinner / lunch bill - we haven’t seen this anywhere else in India.

The breakfast was good and all the dishes we ordered at the restaurant were fresh and tasty. And the rooms were nice. We stayed at the stream villas. They were spacious and there was a sofa bed in all the rooms that helped to increase the occupancy capacity in a single villa, without needing an extra bed. There were many activities like badminton, table tennis, archery, cycling, outdoor pool, etc. They also arranged a boat on demand to do one-hour boating in the backwaters. Overall, it was a comfortable and pleasant stay.

The stay was fantastic. We all loved the ambience and the facilities of the resort. The staffs were polite and helpful. The view from the pool and restaurant were brilliant. The staff who were assisting us in the pool was very helpful. The activities including fishing, cycling and kids play area were all up to the mark. Overall we loved the stay and it was a memorable vacation for us at World Backwaters. We will come back for sure with our friends and family. Special applause to Ms. Aswathi Nair who managed the reception.

Everything was perfect. We didn't had anything that was not up to the mark. However, two suggestions would be like (1) To provide ladies bicycle for cycling. Few cycles were out of order. (2) Would be great if you could add more snacks for the evening tea.

we were a group of 8 . excellent location- its right on the backwaters and the property had disability access and a special disability friendly room that we needed . very very attentive and service oriented staff. eg hotel arranged for our airport pick ups at all odd hours, we asked for and got customised menus - we wanted to try different local dishes and the chef obliged . we had a wonderful time and eventually didnt leave the property at all ! also its great value for money .

we stayed in stream villas- large and comfortable rooms but very oddly designed bathrooms, not exactly user friendly. in one room the a/c leaked and flooded the floor and guests suitcase. those were the only niggles

Wonderful experience! The property is gorgeous and tranquil. It is far from the town of Alleppey, which meant we had to travel by tuk tuk to get anywhere (like to a kayaking trip), but the position allowe for it to be peaceful, have a remote feeling, and not be full of mosquitoes! The food was excellent, particularly the breakfast buffet, which was also very affordable. The service was also incredible. The staff was very kind and attentive. Most of all, we loved the amenities, like the pool, badminton court, and gym. We are a couple and enjoyed it very much, but saw lots of families enjoying their experiences too. Highly recommend! Thank you!
