We loved that Mandaram Villas is a "boutique" structure of only 3 very large bedrooms (with en suite large bathrooms). Each room has a patio or balcony with space to lounge and to have private breakfast and dinner. Both meals are served outside your room. All rooms overlook a pleasant swimming pool with water cascade and the lush of the vegetation. There is by the pool a convivial squared space where to relax, read and/or play some games. It is 300 meters from one of the entrance to the beach and very close to the beach bars and facilities of the Marari beach. It is also very close to the village that can be reached by foot or using one of the bikes provided. We were also impressed to see that the energy is provided by solar panels (well done to the management)! Great to meet a young and energetic lady as manager of the operations and her young colleagues. All a breath of fresh air and very pleasant to have around. The food is fresh and delicious.

We had a wonderful stay. The food is amazing, everything is fresh and local. I also recommend to have dinner at Mandaram. You can try lots of different (local) dishes. It felt like a private Villa because there are only 3 apartments. Also enjoyed the boat ride on the backwaters very much! The super friendly staff organizes everything for you (if you like), e. g. Tuk Tuk to Aleppey, boat ride etc. Some other information about Mandaram which some people might find useful: There is hot water in the shower. You cannot wear foot wear at the breakfast/dinner table as they are located on the balcony/kitchen. Electricity was off a couple of times but not not for long.

This information has nothing(!) to do with Mandaram Villas but may be useful to some people: Alleppey has no "night life", at least in monsoon season. There are only a few bars/lounges, some of them are not inviting. Found a nice location in the Ramada hotel (7th floor). They close at 11 pm and it was quite difficult to catch a tuk tuk at that time - even the hotel staff (at Ramada) could not organize a transport. Eventually we found a tuk tuk station after walking for 10 mins.

Our stay at Mandaram Villas was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. A prepaid taxi was arranged for us from the airport so we didn’t need to worry about cash until the end of our stay. Communication with the owner Allwyn was perfect all on WhatsApp to keep things easy, he even arranged the cab to stop so we could get food en route to the guesthouse as we had a late check in. - The rooms are incredibly comfortable and spacious with a large bathroom with an open roof shower into nature. The style of the property reminded me of a Moroccan Riad with the 3 guest rooms split over 2 levels and an open central section with L shape swimming pool, perfect for those more lazy days sunbathing at the house. The property offers breakfast included which is exceptional, each guest room has its own private dining area and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. For dinner we were invited to Allwyn’s second property (also on booking.com) Marari Dreamz which we highly recommend. It was by far the best meals we had in Kerala and to be honest it was my favourite of our whole trip through South India. All locally sourced authentic South Indian home cooked dishes prepared by Allwyn’s wife Jency. The whole experience was a 10/10 for vibe and food! - We were also offered lots of activities to do during our stay which were all explained after breakfast on our first day by the house manager. All can be arranged through them - Yoga, boat tours, kayaking, scooters etc. We also had access to beach mats for the beach around 3 minutes walk away. Probably the longest tropical beach I’ve even seen with beautiful clear waters and palm trees. We even got to see dolphins on our first swim which was amazing. The house also offers free bicycles to explore the local village and temple which was definitely worth a visit. - All in all this is a perfect oasis to unwind after a long day exploring the local areas and activities.

Such a lovely place to stay. Everywhere is kept immaculately clean. Everyone working here is very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Lovely breakfast every day by the pool. Relaxing to stay by the pool or you can walk to the beautiful beach in just 5 minutes. The gardens are beautiful too. We also ate here in the evening with delicious Keralan food. Highly recommend staying here for a very relaxing time. We also had dinner at the owner Allwyn's other property one evening with fabulous fish and veggie curries, dosa, rice etc. All delicious and cooked to perfection by Allwyn's wife Jensy.

Allwyn & Jency are two of the loveliest people you will meet. Very helpful and accommodating. We spent two weeks in Kerela and Jency’s cooking was the best food we ate. Allwyn gave us great advice for what to do and was able to book most things for us including transport when needed. Having the bikes available was the perfect way to explore the surrounding area with the help of Allwyns map. We really had the best time here and would come back in a heartbeat.

I had an absolute wonderfull stay in Mandaram Villas, the host Jasmine & owner Allwyn, make your stay to an absolute party, nothing is to much for them, they make sure everything is perfect. Delicious food thanks to the wonderfull lady chef who comes over to cook every day, the wonderful house cat, everything was so nice!

What a gem in Mararikulam! After a warm and thorough welcome by Allwyn we settled in a spacious, nicely decorated, air-conditioned room. The bathroom is without a roof so in the morning you find the lovely blossoms fallen from the trees above on the shower floor. The rooms are cleaned daily, towels and water is provided. There is coffee, tea and the kettle in the room. The breakfasts are just superdelicious, a large bowl of fresh fruits, omelette or fried eggs, toast with marmelade accompanied with some tasty local specialities. The owners Allwyn and Dency give you all the attention and care, all they do with extreme love and devotion. Sometimes Dency prepares dinner which is awesome with local flavours and tastes. The Mandaram Villas has a relaxing atmosphere, with a refreshing pool and the magnificent sounds of the birds. If Mandaram Villas is full look at mararidreamz.com which is another property Allwyn and Dency own, lovely peaceful cottages as well. The host is arranging the trips to Alleppey, to the mountains, to ayurveda or homeopath upon request. He is always very generous and helpful! The white sand beach is very close, about 300 metres from the property. It is cute to see and meet the local fishermen on the beach whether taking the boats to the sea or arriving with the loads of fish from the sea. The sea is extremely warm and although the waves might seem and feel quite overwhelming, it is safe to swim there. Approximately a kilometre away one can rent the sunbeds and have lovely food in the beach restaurants. I am grateful for the hospitality we received and would definitely come back! Thank you! 🙏🏻🌞

Everything was excellent!

The room was very comfortable and very well maintained! The pool was also really relaxing and also very clean. The staff here were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us! The food for the evening meal was exceptional we only wish he had room for more! Would definitely recommend this property to anyone!

We had the most wonderful time at Mandaram villas and felt comfortable from the first second. The team fullfilled our every wish: In the morning we had nice yoga sessions, in the afternoon we enjoyed homemade lemonade. And the food, both breakfast and dinner, was fantastic! The beach is very near and we were even lucky to see dolphins. :-) It was all in all the best ending for our trip through South India.
