Everything was incredible! My recent stay at the Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai was an experience that not only exceeded all my expectations but also immersed me in a living history that showcased the visionary founder, Jamsetji Tata's, remarkable legacy. The staff at Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai truly embody the essence of exceptional service. Their attention to detail was impeccable, and they went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was flawless. During the hotel tour, I had the privilege of meeting Sir Prashakar, a living legend who has been a part of the Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai for several decades. Sir Prashakar's wealth of knowledge and his passion for preserving the hotel's heritage were evident in every word he spoke. The hotel itself is a masterpiece. The architecture exudes grandeur and elegance, while the interiors blend modern luxury and timeless charm harmoniously. One of the highlights of my visit was the presence of my esteemed Guru Ji, who visited me at the Hotel. The staff at Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai recognised the significance of her role in my life and treated her with utmost respect and reverence. They embraced her importance and made her feel incredible. Another highlight of my visit was the enchanting e-carriage tour offered by the hotel. This unique experience allowed us to traverse the vibrant streets of Mumbai while soaking in the sights and sounds of this bustling city. The attention to detail displayed by the staff was awe-inspiring. Every interaction was characterised by their genuine warmth, professionalism, and a deep-seated desire to make my stay remarkable. Whether it was the thoughtful gestures of leaving chocolates in my room or the seamless coordination of special dietary requests, the staff's commitment to excellence was truly unparalleled. I can’t highly recommend this hotel, it is one of the best hotels, if not the best hotel in the world. The services are equal to none and it is a must when in Mumbai!

We stayed here from Dec 29 2024 to Jan 2 2025. I am writing this review soon after we reached home. This was one of our several visits to the Taj in the past few years and, incredibly, every visit tops the previous one. Often, one wants to try a new place although with the Taj, this is not the case. Somehow, it draws you back again and again. Sakshi helped check us in and stayed in touch throughout the stay. She took over all our matters as soon as we checked in. Which wasn’t easy given the hotel was at near full capacity and the pressure of new year eve preparations. We can’t thank her and Ritesh (the GM of the property) for making our family feel super special. The Taj Mahal Palace wing sets the benchmark for warmth and luxury. One has to stay here to set yourself a benchmark of what hotel stays can be like. If your travels bring you to Mumbai, stay here. Even if it is for a day. It makes life worth living!

There is nothing I can say here which will explain the joy that this hotel provided. I almost don’t want to tell you anything because I want you to experience it for yourself. If you can justify the cost, do it. You won’t be disappointed. Get them to pick you up from the airport. Eat in the hotel restaurant (especially the golden dragon) and just experience a true 5 star. I have never experience 5 star like this. Usually it’s about all inclusive 5 star. Whereas this is very much luxury 5 star and every single person you encounter at the hotel is dedicated to saying ‘YES’.

Oh my god. To add something here feels like an insult. But if I had to pick something. HAD TOO I would say that the free slippers they provide in the room weren’t branded. That is the most ridiculous criticism I have ever provided but shows how absolutely amazing the hotel actually is.

ALMOST Everything. Everyone. The location. The food options. Service was OUTSTANDING overall, from management to the housekeeping personnel (Suyesh e.g.) Ofcourse we have our favourites..one person who has consistently delivered is Dinesh Singh at the Concierge desk. His care, recommendations and dedication in getting us experience and maximse the best of our vacation is simply outstanding. The other Dinesh Lodhi and Kirtan were equally professional, helpful and sought to deliver us the best. Mithila, at the West Wing Reception stood out consistently. Aryan & Taha who both participated in our check in and / or check out of the 2 stays 24th - 28th) and our return from New Delhi (28th and 3rd Jan). Basically, all the ladies at the West Wing have been professional, my memory have simply eluded me with the names. 😀 Raul at the West Wing Reception made our new year celebrations!!!! Thank you soooo much for arranging our table at the Aquarius (Poolside) for the New Year celebrations.This meant the world to us after we left it too late to secure our table. The lovely Indian young lady- whose name I have forgotten, I think Manager of the Aquarius (Poolside restaurant)..she wears black unifrom. She has been consistently professional, caring and warm. The chefs in Shamiana, coming to our table to clarify, suggest and even explaining the names of items is simply heart warming. On our last day, 1 came and explained the differences between roti, paratha, naan, and dosa.This is simply class act. Akshay in Golden Dragon...a personal favourite of ours there. He is so caring, and confident in his proposals, even items not on the menu. Our favourite restaurant was Wasabi. We only got 1 opportunity to eat there due to our busy tourist activity schedules and the fact that it is mostly always booked out. The experience was soooo good, I am still tasting the flavours and the art of making them.

One noticeable flaw and a big scar on my experience from my perspective as an independent, liberal, westernised female is the focus on the male gender, Hello sir, Welcome sir, how are you sir?, how was you breakfast sir? Merry Christmas sir, Happy new year sir, as if the female counterpart did not exist, to the constant discomfort of my husband. This could be perceived as a culture education, but for me Taj Mahal Palace should be more International and aware of this expected status quo, otherwise, it would have been 5 out of 5 for my feedback score. 4 given because I believe this can easily be fixed.

The Palace is very well kept, it's Beautiful and majestic. Our room was very clean and spacious. The pool view was lovely. Breakfast was really nice with good variety of western foods. We had a club room that came with a transport from the airport, high tea and cocktails every night.

There seems to be a lack of communication between all the different staff people. Sometimes information gets lost but its understandable with this scale of hotel. The one thing we didn't like was we didn't receive any explanation about our club room package, so we weren't aware of cocktails and high tea times and location. High tea for the club rooms could improve especially after experiencing high tea at the Taj lands end which is so generous and high level, same goes to cocktails for club rooms which are so much better at the Taj lands end.

it is truly a fabulous hotel. Staff are so genuinely friendly. Rooms are lush! pool is fabulous as you swim surrounded by history. A wonderful and fitting end to my 4 years in Mumbai. I left in absolute style.

I arrived and was picked up in an Ola taxi and had to do this curb side. Come on! I had a reservation and lots of luggage. Let travellers like me be drop off at the main door. it’s humiliating.

Was hard to sit / get a table in the Sea Lounge for breakfast but understandable due to busyness at this time of Year (December) but there was always another option provided to choose from all with great service

Manoj with Sea lounge looked after us and served us Pav Bhaji and Misil Pav which are local breakfast items. Mukesh at Concierge was extreamly helpful and organised a tour guide for us. Prashant, Suraj and Utsav also looked after us at another breakfast place on ground floor ( Shamiana??) Adil and Percy gave us a wonderful heritage tour .Overall, we were very happy with the hospitality.

During heritage tour, some of the hotel guests did not arrive on time. Some of them were talking very loud especially over the phone. Mobiles need to be avoided during heritage tour presentation. Mirrorless cameras were not allowed to take pictures inside the hotel. However they allow photos to be taken with cell phone. This did not make any sense.

Beautiful setting, really attentive staff, great breakfast. The room was perfect and I enjoyed learning about the history of the hotel. It is right next to the gateway to India. The bakery is amazing, we had really good macaroons.

The area around it is quite polluted and we couldn’t get alcohol during our stay due to the election. Not the hotels fault but there was no mention of this until we tried to order drinks. The restaurants were also all booked out when we tried to book a table early in the evening. Make sure you book your dinner at check in.

During my stay at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, I was absolutely thrilled by the fantastic experience it offered. This iconic establishment seamlessly combines luxury, history, and impeccable service. With a backdrop of the Gateway of India, my stay was truly unforgettable, leaving me with cherished memories. I was delighted to find that in addition to the chocolates and hand cream, the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel thoughtfully provided complementary jasmine flowers and vases of other beautiful blooms in my room.

I must say, I liked everything about my stay at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai. There was absolutely nothing I didn't like - it was a flawless experience from start to finish.
