We stayed there for 3 days and the entire stay was amazing. The location is really good, just 3 kms from City centre. The property is quite spacious and rooms were quite spaced out, so we had maximum privacy. Property was quite green with lot of tree plantation. Staff was really courteous and helpful. They made our stay even more amazing. We had all the meals in the house and we loved every single dish that was served to us. Menu had enough options to allow us to keep experimenting for 3 days. The view of the munnar hills from the property was brilliant. There were lot of song birds around, clouds were ever present and many a times they covered the property too. Overall a very good and relaxing stay in the gem of this place. Property managers were also really nice and very informative.

We loved our stay here. Lovely resort away from the bustle of munnar town but only a ten min tuk tuk ride away. The rooms were lovely, nice comfy large bed, and good shower . The staff were all very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble . We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was excellent . We were there for New Year’s Eve and they put on a lovely banquet and live music. We enjoyed the tea tasting and a morning yoga session. Make sure you ask about the Shola Tour, which is just an hour’s hike around the local area, got to see the tea pickers working and amazing views. I loved the fact they are trying hard to be eco so they don’t give you plastic water bottles and the lovely herbal shampoo and body toner were provided in small earthenware pots , not plastic. So refreshing! Don’t hesitate it’s a great place to stay!

As the name suggests, it's a nature resort. I was very pleased to find out more about the concept behind Blackberry Hills and how it is blending in the natural habbitat, and not taking over. Yes, views are extraordinary (maybe almost taking for granted that beauty and waking up to the beautiful melodies of the birds) The ambience is very peaceful and harmonious. The staff is very professional, attentive, friendly and kind. We received the help that we needed 24/24hrs. My recommendation is to spend more than 1 night here, and fully enjoy the whole experience, rather than ticking another location on your itinerary. I felt that this place is more than just a nice hotel with a beautiful view. It has a special story to tell for people that are passionate about ecology and biophilia.

I cannot recommend this place enough. It has great views of the valley below. Each room is quite comfortable. The staff here is extremely helpful and friendly. They provide some daily activities (yoga, tea tasting, hike) and can arrange for additional things nearby. The restaurant in the hotel is very good. Note that this is far from Munnar town so you will have to mainly just eat here.

The resort is a little isolated form Munnar town, so to go anywhere, you will need to arrange transport with the hotel or rely on your own means of transport.

This place completely exceeded our expectations. I can say without a doubt that we won't find anything that comes close to the experience we had whilst staying here. The included shola trek and tea tasting were phenomenal, we even managed to drag ourselves out of bed for the 7am yoga and I have to say it did not disappoint. I have very fond memories of our time here and we loved it so much that we extended our trip. The staff were incredibly kind, helpful and friendly. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The location is away from the city but not too far. It is in wilderness and it’s so peaceful and beautiful. It seems like you are in paradise. Good rooms. Spacious room. Nice bathrooms with bathtub. Renewable sources of energy being used. No plastic and no tissue issue. Nice restaurant. Nice spa, massage and sauna facility. Bugee service. Can go for morning and evening walks. Wonderful sunrise and sunset. Nice facilities Very warm hosts and staff. Very nice bathroom products. Beautiful birds and chirping. Wonderful decor.

Improvements can be :- Hot water supply - if could be quicker. Liquor could be served @ restaurant.

This beautiful hotel is built on different levels of a hill: reception and spa on top and as you walk down you find the rooms and the restaurant. It’s fully immersed in the lush vegetation so once you’re inside you feel like you’re in a world apart. At first I was given a room which was extremely damp with mold on the bathroom walls , but as soon as I told the staff that I wasn’t happy, they changed me to a much better room with a great view over the entire valley. The restaurant, where I had dinner every night, is fabulous. Food is ready excellent and reasonably priced. I had a massage which was also top quality. What I really want to point out is that the staff in this hotel (reception, garden, spa, restaurant…everyone!) is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING! They go out of their way to make you happy, to help you with whatever need and simply to make your day with a smile. I signed up for a couple of hikes with their guides and it was all smooth and enjoyable. Thank you for making my stay with you so wonderful and relaxed!

Some rooms are damp, I think this is a problem that many hotels in the middle of the forest have, but beware because there’s a huge difference between some rooms and others. The hotel is located at the end of a dusty small town with rubbish strewn all over, it’s not a pretty scene when you arrive. I understand it doesn’t depend on the hotel but it’s a little off putting, including the concrete skeleton of a building which rises next to it. Thankfully, when you’re inside the hotel, you don’t see any of this, so it’s just a matter of first impressions.

There are many places you could choose to stay in Munnar, and, reader of this post, I hope you choose Blackberry Hills. I've not been so warmly treated at a resort than I have been by the people here. And they have designed a resort on the hillside, overlooking the beautiful and unreal valley of tea below, that reflects their warmth. Upon check-in, they brought out bags down to our room, showed us the room's layout, and continually checked with us to ensure the room would work for us and that we'd be happy staying there. We said yes, and we very much were! Just walking around the resort is a small joy. Stunning views surrounded us and it was so cute to walk from bungalow to bungalow along their paths, by signage detailing the quaint histories and environmental efforts of the resort. In a place like Munnar where you want to just take in the views of the world around you, the outdoor meandering layout of Blackberry Hills is so much more preferable to walking through typical hotel corridors that box you away from the world. Each morning and evening, we started and ended at the Hornbill Restaurant. And I've got to say (especially as someone who doesn't speak with hyperbole), this is my absolute favorite hotel restaurant I've ever enjoyed. The food was beyond expectation! The menu prices are also very reasonable and we were so happy to eat there for all of our meals in Munnar without a second thought. The seating and lighting inside were so cozy. When we left the Hornbill after dinner, we were greeted by the glowing warmth of a campfire pit in the terrace outside. We took a seat and nestled up to the heat. And gosh, yeah, it was as cozy as it sounds. Anyway, there's too much to say, but we really enjoyed staying here! And I hope you do too. For anyone wondering about drinking water: all of the water provided in glass bottles at the resort is UV purified and totally safe to drink, even for Westerners such as myself!

The restaurant view was heavenly. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. The best thing about the resort is their concerted and sincere effort to be eco friendly. This is the best hotel we have ever been to in terms of eco-frienliness.

We understand maintaining as close to nature as possible of access to the cottages. But it is a bit difficult for senior citizens. Perhaps some work could be done to make the climb up and down the steps a bit easier.

Such a peaceful retreat close to Munnar! A perfect place to watch birds. I strongly commend the efforts made by the management to reduce use of plastics and fossil fuel engines inside the property. If you love birds and quiet, this is the perfect place for you! The front desk is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and will advise and arrange any day trip for you. Mr Anaz was such a professional! The restaurant is delicious, but you must go for à la carte, since you can require a little more spice and character in your dishes (the buffet is tailored for a UK elderly / package holiday demographic that is not adventurous). But the chef is great and the service amazing.

I really wanted to put 10/10 for this hotel, however the hotel (through no fault of its own) has an issue with feral or not minded dogs coming into the property and barking longs spells at night. One night it was Ok (was woken up one time at 4 am) but the second night the dogs woke us up 3 or 4 times and kept barking half an hour behind the room. Hopefully this will get sorted soon.
