Location was good.

Roads was not good to the property!! Even single sign board was not placed any where. Maintenance of the room was not standardised!! For my total stay the television was not working. For the half board customer there is a another menu card, we have to select from the provided menu card only.

The location was spectacular, truly. The view from my balcony was a panorama over the valley below and the surrounding mountains. The property is situated in a remote location, which makes it a quiet and beautiful retreat in a garden + with its own tea plantation. The room was well appointed, and it is clear a lot of attention and care was dedicated to quality towels, comfortable bedding and quality furniture. The mattress is very good and I was able to enjoy a nice, peaceful night sleep. The personnel around are super nice and helpful with everything from reception, bag carrying, service, and everything one might require. Reliable wifi as well.

I'll start with the breakfast and dinner options: They are scarce. This being a new hotel at the time of writing my review (Nov 2023), they haven't yet found their footing in food. Breakfast definitely needs more options beyond fruit salad, cereals and basic Indian fare (idli and poori with gravy). Dinner on site is tasty, with both veg and non veg options. Also, there is no swimming pool or spa centre available as yet, which draws down my value for money score. The only options for entertainment around the property are taking a walk to the villages around (very pleasant and safe) or sitting on the balcony and looking at the view, both of which are not enough for a 5* hotel, as the Viceroy markets itself as.

As of now (Dec'23), the property is brand new and really beautiful, located in a stunning green setting. The staff is trying to give a feeling of a real 5-star hotel. Amenities are high quality. All is very clean.

The staff is still learning - felt like they did laundry for the first time, there were miscommunication regarding food, they couldn't help a lot on anything outside of the property. Surrounding area was still being developed. Not easy getting by using English as well. But they are trying hard!

Nothing that I can remember!

We had an amazing time at Viceroy the view from our room was gorgeous in all weathers and we thoroughly enjoyed swimming in the pool! The staff throughout the property were welcoming, professional and very helpful, they made our stay very memorable in all the right ways! We enjoyed the easiness of having a restaurant upstairs and enjoyed all of the meals we had there. We also appreciated the Masala chai!

The gym needs some TLC - neither of the fans worked and it seemed a bit neglected. I definitely didn’t want to use the yoga mat as there was nothing to clean it with and I wasn’t sure when last it was looked at. Don’t expect total luxury in facilities but the staff more than make up for it!

The location is beautiful, the staff is super sweet and helpful. They helped us get in contact with a guide for a lovely trek, arranged taxis for us, and very willingly changed one of our hotel rooms when we requested it. The restaurant food was very good, with a wonderful view, and with a lot of variety. The pool and pool area were really beautiful. We had a great time!

The roads towards the hotel are not in great condition or well identified, making getting there a bit tricky. There is a big humidity/mold issue in the whole building making the rooms a bit uncomfortable and smelly sometimes. Overall, this hotel has a lot of potential, but needs a little love and renovation. The photos were perhaps a bit misleading sometimes, but note it's a 3 star hotel.

The best thing about the Viceroy Resort, apart from its stunning location, is Mr Abin, the person at reception/front desk during the day. He was always trying to help - to find us a better room, making the TV work, giving us tips on where to go, fixing minor and major problems and always with a smile and with a very positive attitude. Without him, the Viceroy would be a shadow of what it is. Also, the bed was quite comfortable and the balcony was private and with a very nice view of the mountains. We spent many pleasant moments out there.

There are a lot of small problems that the hotel needs to fix at a macro level. We chose the half-board option because we thought it might be difficult to go searching for dinner at night. On the first night, dinner was a fixed menu of very limited choices and the food was not up to par. On the second night it was a buffet - again sub-standard. Items in the buffet - and this goes for breakfast as well - are not replenished unless you request it. Tables are not set unless you request it. Only water is provided as a drink with dinner - any other soft drinks have to be paid for and the hotel does not have an alcohol licence. Hot water in the shower fades away after a few minutes and then comes on after several more minutes. This makes having a shower quite challenging.

Viceroy Munnar Resort is a top notch place to stay if you are planning to just chill with your loved ones. Amid misty mountains, its own tea gardens and breathtaking views, the resort offers calm, quiet and peace 🤍. The Property is located perfectly away from Munnar City (takes approx.40 mins to Munnar). From the Moment i booked the resort till we checked out, the staff were incredibly supportive and always at your Service. I thank especially Abin and one more guy at the front desk for their great service. We often stayed in the resort for dinner and we always got good food. The offered breakfast had a number of options varying from continental to local foods. The food for my one year old niece was never charged by the restaurant manager, that was really kind. The Pool was located in a perfect place for the instagram worthy pictures 😀 It adds a cool vibe to the whole resort. Overall i would highly recommend this property for a proper getaway with your family or friends 🫶🏻

We stayed in Viceroy for 4 days (3 nights). Nestled in Munnar amidst lush green tea plantations with the ranges in sight, we had an excellent stay overall. - The view from Junior Suite was breathtaking. We took loads of photos from the balcony which shall always remain in memory. - Breakfast spread was good. Lunch and dinner we had Spicy Chicken Chettinad which we both agreed was the most delicious & yummy Chicken curry we ever had. - Housekeeping staff were very prompt. - A special thank you to Mr. Bilbin who from booking, till directing us to the resort (as we drove from Bengaluru) to helping us solve a minor issue/altercation that we as a couple had amongst ourselves and ensuring we had an excellent trip. We both thank the management for enabling a wonderful & memorable stay at Viceroy.

We had a truly delightful stay at the Viceroy Luxury Mountain Resort and Spa in Munnar on 9th and 10th October 2024. The ambiance of the property is serene and captivating, nestled amidst lush green mountains with stunning tea gardens all around. The view from our balcony was nothing short of breathtaking—an ideal place to unwind and soak in the natural beauty of Munnar. The rooms were spacious, clean, and matched the images on the website perfectly. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. They even offered a complimentary room decoration to celebrate our son’s first birthday, which was a touching gesture. A special mention to Abin at the front desk, who not only welcomed us warmly but also recommended a trustworthy cab driver who guided us through Munnar’s scenic spots and shared fascinating insights about the history and significance of each location. We thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful and relaxing stay. A big thanks to Abin, Prem, Niharika, and the entire staff for their hospitality, kindness, and attention to detail.
