Everything was just amazing! Very nicely built and maintained, very friendly and well trained staff, comfortable beds, great amenities, good food, many activities to do, and even better to chill by the beach and read, 2 nights was just not enough.
Nothing :)

Gili Asahan is paradise on earth. Think Robinson Cruso vibes. It's truely wonderful. I stayed in one of the Bale rooms. It was all open. There were bamboo blinds for privacy. It was gorgeous. The staff were wonderful. I did my morning yoga on the open hill top Shala. Walked around the island. Took one of the paddle boards out each day. Snorkelled. Sunset walk every evening along the beach. You need to stay here. It will not disappoint.
Nothing. It was glorious.

I stayed in a Bale (sleeping platform) with my husband and the rest of our group were in a bungalow and another Bale. I loved this lodge. The Bale's are well designed with lots of thoughtful features including a charging area with a lock in the headboard for phones/laptops/gopros. And it felt so luxurious and free to sleep in a comfortable bed almost outside. The restaurant should be another review all on it's own. The menu with pages of delicious Italian dishes as well as some local dishes. Our group was there for 4 nights and between us all we tried everything on the menu. I can't think of anything that wasn't good. Most of the things in the lodge have been upcycled so it has a beautiful and unique character. It is in a less touristed area and is much quieter and more peaceful than Gili Air. We enjoyed many of the activities on offer. Our group did a fantastic snorkeling tour around Gili Rengit, Layar and Gede. We walked to the top of the hill and around the island. We snorkeled at the reef in front of the Eco Lodge as well as the one in front of Pearl Beach resort. We used the kayaks to cross to Gili Goleng and snorkeled there - exquisite coral, well worth it. It is an exceptional place, exactly what I had hoped for.
I can't think of anything.

Good territory, good service, they do have place for yoga on the hill, snorkelling spot just in front of the beach and a few more in walking distance. Good food at the restaurant (italian and local). Very welcoming and friendly staff. The Island itself is virgin and you can have a long walk along the beach at low tide.
There is no hot water. It is okay at the day time when it is hot outside but when it is evening and windy, warm shower would be great. This was not the big problem though. And as this is eco lodge so this is understandable. I would suggest to put some fans at the restaurant - flies can be really annoying in there. This is not the disadvantage but it’s good to know before booking is made - if you stay at Bale, keep in mind that this is not a room with the walls, you literally sleep in the forest )) and your bed is hidden from everyone by the curtains. So birds, rain, other nature sounds are accompanying your sleep, for me this was really calming in the end but it took time to get used to the place which was so open.

Where to start? The location is beautiful on the south coast of Gili Asahan. The hotel is in the middle of a beautiful well kept garden with a coral reef directly in front of the beach. We loved the eco concept which has been applied throughout the whole area of the hotel with natural materials used everywhere. The complementary kayaks, SUPs and diving gear is also well kept and fun to use. As for the food, the restaurants serves both Italian classics with fresh ingredients (esp the fish) and local dishes. Both well prepared. The pizza’s were amazing. We recommend the Nautilus. I suppose the Italian owner put a lot of effort in getting these right. The service is amazing. Everybody from the reception, management and restaurant staff are very friendly and doing the best they can to provide a unforgettable stay.

I don’t have enough good words to say about this place! It was one of the highlights of my Indonesian trip, as it was even better than in the pictures and the description! The pickup from the port went smoothly, check in was quick. I stayed in Bale and it was such a nice experience to sleep in an open space. Bale gives you enough privacy to feel like you are completely alone! The facilities are so amazing, yet simple! Really loved the sleeping are, lounge and the bathroom. It’s the small things that make this place. They give you a sarong to use for beach, free use of kayaks and paddleboards. The restaurant staff even packed a small snack box to take on a kayaking trip to a nearby island. You get free use of snorkeling gear and the coral reefs are very nice! You can hike up to the mountain for sunset views, use Yoga Shala or just enjoy the serenity of this place.. I got to swim with the horses which was such an amazing experience! Also the food in restaurant was SO good!!! Loved it!
Nothing! It’s a paradise on Earth.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were blown away by the staff and service at this resort. We stayed for 3 nights 4 days and would struggle to think of better service we've had in decades of holidaying around the world. Special thanks go to Elda, Ari & the whole team. Nothing was too much for them. They went above and beyond at every opportunity. And seemed genuinely happy in their work environment. The food in the resort was second to none. Guests at other resorts would come and eat at our in-house Italian restaurant because it was the island's best. The environment and surroundings were picturesque, tranquil & stunning. We spent our time snorkeling, reading on the beach, and just taking in the views. We recommend flying directly from Bali rather than any ferry options to get to this remote location. Whenever we are back in the area in future, we will be back at Gili Asahan Eco Lodge.
Nothing.

I stayed in a 'bale' which was absolutely gorgeous and so unusual! The rest of the resort was also gorgeous, staff were lovely and food was delicious!
I unfortunately experienced a couple in the neighbouring 'bale' who played loud music late every evening, which meant I didn't sleep very well. It shouldn't need explaining that if you're staying somewhere with no walls you should be mindful of noise, but perhaps the resort could remind people when they check in to avoid this in the future. Only other improvement would be if there could be some more sunbeds in the sun, as all but one of them are in the shade all day and I personally like to tan!

I stayed four days on the island and in the resort and I had the most beautiful time. There is so much love and detail in the whole setup of the lodge, the bungalows are super comfortable and you feel like you are immersed in nature at all times. Besides nature sounds it is quiet and I immediately calmed down and relaxed. The staff is so nice and attentive and on top of that the food at the restaurant is delicious. Not only the Indonesian dishes but everything from the italian menu (the Pizza!!!!!). Breakfast ist also plentiful, tasty and beautifully arranged. This place is truly a slice from heaven and I count myself lucky that I could stay here and hope I can come back one day.

Amazing! The resort is completely blended in nature and it’s perfect if you want to have the “desert island”kind of holiday where you walk everywhere only barefoot. We stayed in the bale which is a kind of open structure, but it is a great experience! There are almost no mosquitoes and it’s definitely quiet in the night. The kitchen is simply amazing,Italian approved! Fish fresh from the sea and the staff is simply AMAZING. They give you kayak for free to rent and have many activities you can do! The island itself is really calm, with just a few tourists and it’s perfect to relax and have beautiful snorkeling!
