Eileen is the most gracious and welcoming host anyone could ask for. Her house is immaculate, her garden is picturesque, and her homemade breakfasts are superlative...but the best part of our stay was Eileen herself. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel at home. As soon as we walked through the door, whatever the hour, she would offer us refreshments: tea was always served in the sitting room, on a properly laid table, complete with cakes and fresh flowers from her garden. Everything people say about the breakfasts is true- Eileen bakes her own brown bread, serves delicious local produce (some of the best yoghurt and honey we have ever tasted).. and she went the extra mile for my friend, who is coeliac. She advised us about the area, warned us not to hike Sheep's Head when the weather was inclement, and was simply lovely to engage with. We tend not to return to the same place, as there are always new places to explore, but my friend and I have agreed that we want to return to Niblick in spring 2026.

The hostess was wonderful, very nice and attentionate : she made sure we had everything we needed every time we came back to the house and she translated into French the breakfast menu. Speaking of which : the breakfast was absolutely delicious, with summer berries, pancakes, cakes, homemade yogurts, salmon, scrambled / poached eggs... truly amazing ! The room was very nice and clean, and the beds comfortable. The house is very conveniently located to explore Beara. It's also a 3 minute walk to a lovely small beach. We had a great stay and definitely recommend this place !

We spent 2 nights there and wish we could have stayed longer !

Eileen was so welcoming & helpful. Our car had met a wall and dented a fender and she helped us with calling the car rental. Gave us a lovely cup of tea and cake on our arrival which helped us feel better! We had a delicious - and filling- breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. She is a wonderful host and we'll recommend Niblick to any friends/family traveling to Ireland. Beautiful property and excellent location. 10 stars! Thank you Eileen. Arlene (Canada)

There was nothing we didn't like!

Our stay in Bantry was lovely, made just so by our gracious host. We were welcomed with tea, traybakes and a history of the home and area. The rooms were comfortable with well appointed ensuites that met our needs. The hand cooked breakfast was a particular highlight that started our day off on the right foot. We would definitely recommend this property and would stay here again.

Everything met our expectations.

We usually choose our sites with the hope of engaging our host, particularly during breakfast, on any number of issues associated with the Irish culture. Both pleasant and informative, Eileen met our highest expectations. In addition, the breakfasts were equal to the craic…most enjoyable. If we are ever back in the southwest of Ireland we will certainly look to the Niblick and Eileen to enhance our stay.

Great location- close to town and ocean; house was charming and extremely well appointed with lovely sun/ breakfast/ tv/ eat- in-dinner/ relax room; the setting was delightful.. lovely gardens, pond and patio. Breakfast was tasty and satisfying. The real plus was our host, Eileen. Friendly and engaging she made us feel very much at home-- which is everything we could hope for. The overall experience far surpassed all our other B&B stays in Ireland. .

Absolutely nothing.

Our host Eileen is not only a consummate professional who keeps an immaculately beautiful home but is the warmest and most accommodating host we have ever experienced. The breakfasts were amazing, the accommodations were very comfortable and clean and her house is located in a stunningly beautiful setting only a few hundred meters from the edge of Bantry Bay and with mountain views. Thanks again for an amazing stay!!!

The host was very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were spotless and had lovely views over the garden. We also enjoyed the lounge overlooking the garden. The host was very welcoming and flexible, providing a vegan option for breakfast for our daughter and heating up an evening meal for her. it was a pleasure to stay with her and in the guest house.

We were warmly welcomed by the housewife. She immediately invited us for a cup of tea and homemade cake. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and very clean and also very quiet. Wild rabbits could be observed in the garden. The breakfast was freshly prepared, was very delicious and left nothing to be desired. The lady of the house gave us many recommendations for the city and our further journey. The stay was just perfect; We recommend!

Nothing negative can be reported

The house was comfortable, location convenient and the breakfast was perfection. The pancakes were something special! Once we were several hours away, we realized we left a watch at the house. The host had already messaged us stating that she found the watch and offered to ship it back stateside for us. Very kind!
