The place the room was fabulous 👌

My room being locked at 11.20 while I went for breakfast, at 10.55, then be told that we had to check out that's why it was locked, even tho check out wasn't until 12.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The gym is well-equipped but could do with a little heating at this time of year, especially in the early morning.

The breakfast could be better. The scrambled egg is rubbery and the fried eggs are slimy (sorry to have to say). Perhaps add boiled eggs to the selection? And add options for people who prefer to avoid carbohydrates at breakfast, such as cold meats (in addition to the smoked salmon).

Located outside Castlebar on its own land so quite seculded but plenty to do from the well appointed leisure centre & spa to the marked walking routes (2km to 5km). Rooms were spacious & very clean. Beds comfortable. Overall an excellent friendly hotel. If you just want some rest & relaxation this is the place.

My only complaint would be menu in the bar is quite boring. Typical bar menu, burgers, pizza, steaks etc.would have expected something a little different from such a good hotel. Surprised no vegan options or just a little more imagination. There is of course the very grand Mulberry restaurant onsite which we didn't go to, bit too formal for us this time round. Having said all that, the two nights we ate in the bar the food we got was delicious. So it is a minor complaint.

Love Breaffy house hotel, this is my second time here and I loved it both times. Didn't manage to make the spa this time but last time it was amazing. Room was gorgeous as usual and staff were so friendly. Loved having coffee out in the front terrace after breakfast in the morning . And gorgeous views and landscaping. Its in a great location if you are visiting Castlebar and is only a short hop into town for dinner or drinks. Would highly recommend..

The only downside is the breakfast. Its fine if you are having a continental breakfast but if you are going for the fry, it was cold and not great. But everything else was amazing so this wouldn't put me off staying.

Everything was superb. The staff from the very moment we entered were so nice and friendly, always a hi to us and a little wave to the kids. The barman and waitress who served us in Healy macs bar were so friendly and obliging even though they were so busy - there was a wedding and a number of communion parties the night we stayed, but still all staff had a smile on their face and noone was too busy for us. The family room was so spacious, we loved it. We especially liked the Mulberry Restaurant for breakfast, the decor is so beautiful. The food was all delicious, even the kids commented how nice their dinner was! We will definitely be back, and without a doubt be recommending here to our friends. Thank you to all

The bunk bed in the room could do with a little paint in spots but this is very minor, and didn't impact our stay or thoughts on the hotel.

Excellent buffet breakfast with friendly and helpful staff. Evening meals (at Euro 45 pp) were very adequate but the menu - apart from a choice of fish - barely changed each evening. Thus, after two evenings, I felt that I had fully "explored" the menu and sought an alternative in Castlebar.

Located in room 67 - on the lower ground floor - it was a struggle to get luggage to and from the room with multiple doors and steps. The bathroom facility lacked fan ventilation and the plumbing - with "gurgling" pipework seemed a little "suspect"!

On arrival we were offered a free room upgrade to one of their Signature rooms which was great - well equipped and furnished - big bath tub, coffee pod machine, comfortable chairs and very comfortable king bed etc. We enjoyed a very good breakfast each day from a wide-ranging buffet. The leisure facilities were very good and made us of the gym once and pool twice. One thing I commend staff for would be their excellent quick and helpful service. On our second day there the water to our room was cut to enable maintenance - late morning. We hadn't been informed about this, and on phoning reception it turned out that they hadn't been informed either. They were very apologetic and immediately provided access to an alternative room in another wing of the building where we could take showers. Also we noticed that our coffee pod machine was faulty and this was immediately replaced. This stay was a very positive experience and our third time at Breaffy House Hotel over the years. Clearly the hotel had been renovated since our last stay

Nothing much to speak of, although in the leisure facilities we would suggest a need for two upgrades. Lockers in the changing rooms need working locks. Presently they only provide for members to bring their own padlock - not much use to occasional hotel guests like us. Also in the gym a number of pieces of equipment need their worn handles re-covered with proper foam not gaffer tape.

Food was excellent, beef brisket in restaurant was amazing, so tasty. And, red thai curry in the bar was equally fab.

Stayed as a couple, I went to business in Castlebar while my partner worked in the hotel room. Disappointed to report wifi was terrible, essentially, she was unable to work efficiently, as would be normal at home. Eg, task usually takes 45 minutes at home, took over 3 hours due to constant buffering/freezing. We reported this to reception, slight improvement on second morning but in reality unable to work in any way efficently. Back to dire in afternoon, so bad that she signed off early, very disappointing, don't stay here thinking you can work from home, from our experience you can't work from there. And that was a really major minus for us coming back.

The hotel is beautiful, with a lovely landscape. The room was comfortable, quiet and clean, despite shower had flooded. The pool and spa areas are very good, but the services we used at the spa were just ok. The Healy Macs bar restaurant has very attentive service and the food is delicious. Excelent breakfast.

Booking spa services was very frustrating and annoying. The website had incorrect information about additional services (which cannot be booked together, but this option is offered on the website). The attendant assumed that my arrival time at the hotel would be my time for the services, and even though my husband had called and spoke directly with the person responsible for the booking, the service was scheduled incorrectly. Due to the time error, one of the scheduled massages was reduced from 25 minutes to 12 minutes. This was very disappointing. The manager offered us a better room to make up for the error, however the shower in the room flooded.

A very nice stay. The room was cozy, comfortable and charming, with a view on the grounds below. The staff were lovely and kind, the breakfast area was lovely and the food excellent, the grounds were great to have a walk around, it was a very short drive into castlebar. Really, it was perfect for us.

Really not much. Tiny things, we ordered a coke with our meal and it came as a small glass of flat coke, clearly from a long-opened big bottle at the bar. We would have much preferred a freshly opened small bottle each. That's all I can think of!
