Great place to stay with comfy rooms, close to the city centre and a great location along side a duck pond, where there was plenty of wildlife to see, including a Kingfisher... the Breakfast was really good quality, locally sourced food too... 😃

We were told we could park in a small car park just off the main street, if there were spaces, on a first come, first served basis, so managed to get a space to park, but we were NOT told that the car had to be removed from car park on Sunday night as it belonged to the cathedral school so We got a ticket... the Hotel did agree to pay the ticket though... 😃

Beautiful hotel with grand stair case leading to our lovely and spacious suite. Hotel is peaceful and relaxing with a lovely terraced garden to relax and enjoy a drink. In our suite we found a hamper with local goodies and fruit, a decanter filled with sherry and and an assortment of teas, coffee, hot chocolate and filter coffee plus complimentary bottles of still and sparkling water and fresh milk for our hot drinks in the fridge. All great touches which added comfort to our stay. Quality breakfast with great menu selection. Afternoon tea is superb and a treat not to be missed. Staff are all approachable, friendly and professional. Ben especially was helpful during our stay, providing advice re. where to dine out in the evening in Hereford.

The location, restaurant (and breakfast room) were superb. The position of the hotel is great close and within the city. Hereford is a well constructed and entertaining city. It is welcoming and feels very safe. The room was well fitted except for the items below.

A couple of things the hotel could do to improve the experience in the room we stayed in. Because there was only one window and at pavement level, top ventilation could be installed by providing a sash pulley system. The window is see through therefore could not be left without a curtain in front of it. So better ventilation and privacy without sacrificing a view could be installed.

location was great close to a nice party venue we attended. in addition walking distance to the town Center let alone how tranquil was the garden and lake.

very straight forward check in, warm welcome from reception staff. Availability of free car park. the rooms are very clean fits the exact description given on their website and Booking.com. great bar, beautiful fireplace inside it and the breakfast was extremely diligent and variety of choice to choose from. all with a smile and very well looked after by the staff.

Location was perfect, great outdoor seating area. Clean & tidy, with some nice staff.

I expected to stay in the hotel, not a town house 50 yards away which was all a bit odd. The compact doubles are exactly that - tiny!! (Don’t know if larger ones were available). No nets in the bedroom windows, so you have to keep the blinds shut all the time, unless you want to cavort your body to the neighbours - shame as this is an easy fix. And no one warns you about the seagulls… from 3am through to sunset - ok, not strictly the hotels fault, but we didn’t appreciate them trying to steal my breakfast either! 😱😬

We had a gorgeous, junior suite room which was delightful; spacious; comfy beds, lovely furniture and very clean. We loved the extra touches such as the sherry and the basket of locally produced goodies! Have never had a hotel room with two TVs before! The hotel's location was absolutely perfect!

Although our breakfast choices-porridge and eggs royale- were very nice, we were a little disappointed not to have a self service set up for fresh fruit, yogurts etc. We knew beforehand, but were sorry that evening dinner was not available- seemingly a a casualty of Covid!!

Comfortable, quiet room with traditional decor that suited the building. The shower was really good and the toiletries were lovely. The breakfast ingredients were excellent and prepared to perfection, freshly to order. Breakfast was served in a light, airy space. I appreciated the little extra touches in the room, such as the complimentary selection of local produce, and sherry. I loved having a little bottle of fresh milk in the fridge, rather than the prepacked UHT stuff.

There were a few stains on the bedroom carpet, which was a shame. For breakfast I would have liked a self-service selection of fruit and cereals, but I imagine the current system cuts down on food waste, which is always a good thing.

This is a brilliant little place in the centre of Hereford, only 5 minutes walking from the cathedral. It's got a lovely conservatory overlooking the river where they serve lunch and breakfast (they don't do dinner, but there are lots of nice restaurants around). Breakfast was wonderful, the menu was nice and the food superb. My room (I had a junior suite) had a beautiful view onto the river and garden and was just lovely with nice details like a basket with regional treats or sherry. The bathroom was spacious, the toiletry luxurious. What else? Yes, they have private parking (which is free for guests) and very convenient, situated just behind the hotel. If you can afford it... go to this place! It's worth the money!

Check-in was a bit odd. There was nobody at the reception and when I found someone to help, he was a bit harsh, if very competent.

We were greeted on arrival and assisted with luggage even though we didn't need help. The room was spacious, airy, well laid out and beautifully decorated with a great view over the garden and castle pool. The bed and chairs were comfortable and the little treats much appreciated. Breakfast, served in the garden room was well cooked and plentiful. The hotel is close to the cathedral and town centre, making it a good base for exploring.

One of the TVs in the room (there were 2) didn't work properly but this didn't detract from our stay.

The room was on the first floor with a great view down the street towards Hereford Cathedral. It's not a busy street. Parking was free, and off road. The room was cosy, spacious, well equipped in the bathroom with my favourite toiletries :) Downstairs, the breakfast and dining room extension is all pale wood and glass, sitting on the castle moat, with sun streaming in, and duck life to observe outside. Really fab. The food was produce from the hotel's own farm - tasty, well presented, attentive but not intrusive service. All good.

There was nothing I didn't like and, my partner, who is never all that happy staying in hotels, commented how comfortable he had felt. Which is a big positive.
