We returned to the Casa Del Garbo because of fond memories of a stay there 14 years ago. A charming, if pricey B & B right on the Piazza del Signor1a in the center of everything and near good restaurants and grocery stores. An elegant old property with visible wear and tear, but a definitely quality old world ambience. Large room (Gemma) well furnished with a good bed, chairs, fridge and dresser for flat space. Provision of wine glasses a nice touch, as is delivery of breakfast order to room. Nice shower with seats and small corner shelf for soap and other items. It kept floor relatively dry.

Nightstands flanking bed awkwardly placed and too small. Provision of wine glasses was a nice touch. Only one English language channel (Sky). No signal for CNN, but we got France 24 in English. Wifi connection spotty and timed out frequently, requiring reconnection, which was a minor nuisance. There was a problem with a noisy A/C fan and we managed a workaround by manipulating the thermostat. Important note for elderly or mobility impaired; there is no lift. Reception is on 1st (European) floor after steep stair climb. Stairs everywhere. Understand that this is an histtoric building and certain modificsations cannot be made.

Location and room both exceeded excellence, what a view every single day. Space in the Junior Suite was great for our family. Lots of privacy and staff very pleasant. See photo taken from window.

Small things only. If I have to find fault, I find it odd that staying especially at good standard hotels generally in Italy, that breakfast is not included and extra, especially when paying for a premium hotel. The tea/coffee making facilities could be better variety in the room. Bathroom products could be better quality for such a superior establishment and also more generous. They didn’t match the quality of the hotel. But these are small aesthetic things, cannot fault anything else. Be aware there is no lift so heavy luggage is difficult up and down the stairs.

Exceptional location, literally on one of the main plazas: 5mn walking distance from all the main attractions (museums, historical monuments...). Good authentic restaurants on the plaza. Staff was very friendly. Room had a lot of authentic charm yet the bathroom had all modern amenities. After check-out a separate room (with toilet and shower) is available so that you can leave your bags there and still enjoy your day if you travel late in the day.

Some electrical outlets were not working and the outlets themselves are a bit particular even when you have a European adapter (we manage to get one working but it was not the most convenient). The bedroom walls are quite thin (old building) so you can hear the music of the restaurant downstairs; however it doesn't close late and really some noise is the "price to pay" when you are in the middle of the happenings of a touristy place.

The staff were helpful and always willing to provide water or orange juice. LOCATION was perfect! Close to the other side of the bridge and all of the main attractions. We could see the replica of David and the Palazzo Vecchio from out our window. It was a 5 minute walk to Uffizi and close to restaurants and Brunelleschi’s Dome, Cathedral, Baptistry, Museo dell’Opera Del Duomo.

Noisy at night due to high season but not a complaint! It was lovely, lively and the building really muffled the sound well!

Absolutely excellent location with a great view from one of the rooms. The rooms are spacious and are perfect for a family. The staffs are nice and they bring breakfast to rooms on the required time.

It is in the city center center so it is not quiet during the night. It is not very recommended to people who have difficulties in sleeping. Also, there is no elevator. The shower water is heated by a water heater and is not sufficient for multiple people.

The lovely staff were friendly and very helpful, communication before we arrived was excellent and we were warmly welcomed. There was a very good choice for breakfast and it was a treat to have it brought to our room. We stayed in the Arnolfo Suite with our teenage granddaughter and it was great to have the two bedrooms. We loved the sympathetically designed rooms, the view over the Piazza De La Signoria and being just a few minutes walk from all the places we wanted to visit (5 or 10 minutes from Uffizzi, Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and 15 minutes walk from the Academia.

We really found Casa Del Garbo to be excellent and the only suggestion would be to have a coffee machine in the room. The selection of teas was appreciated though.

Location is truly spectacular. Great views of the piazza and easy walking to all major attractions. The bedrooms are large and spacious. Because we checked in after business hours, we had the ability to do a self check in. The staff made it very easy. The staff is truly attentive and responsive. Very kind and helpful.

One must consider this is an older building. The bathroom is small for 3 or more people staying multiple days. The shower is a traditional small, round tube. Important to know this when renting multiple days.

This is a magical location and hotel. We could watch everything in the piazza and the view is stunning. Close the shades for dark and quiet sleeping, and to keep the room cool when you’re not there. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff were so warm and caring. After days walking around Rome, being able to step outside this hotel and be five minutes at most from everything was phenomenal. Well worth the money! If stairs are a mobility problem just tell the front desk as older places in Florence often have many just to reach reception.

Very nice building. You get the feeling to the middle ages. We were surprised that we become the breakfast in our room. It was unusual, but such a nice experience and it tasted very good. Claudia and Eva are perfect hostesses. They explain everything you ask and make you feel important as a guest. We asked to keep our luggage 🧳 and it was absolutely no problem. 💯 % recommend.
