-Excellent location -Historic building, small but still functional, cozy and very tastefully decorated. Italian picturesque in every sense! -Every room with its particular name, all different to each other and individually furnished and equipped. -Comfortable furniture and beds, -Great breakfast, served at the table (no buffet) by friendly and accommodating staff, in a very attractive dining room -Amenities, bar etc all functional, practical and very elegant. -Kudos to the very friendly and accommodating personnel, with special respect to *Sebastian*, who is one of the best hotel receptionists/managers I've ever dealt with in my life; and I've been around!! He was attentive to our every need or request, helpful, knowledgeable, effective and super polite!! Thank you Sebastian! In sum: a hotel that justifies the term "boutique", which I would most definitely recommend as a top-spot in Florence!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying in a 13th-century building in Florence that truly embodied the spirit of its historical era. The restored ancient plaster on the walls and ceilings, along with the parquet floors and antique furniture, transported me to a special period filled with rich history. The location was absolutely top-notch, right in the heart of Florence. Breakfast was an amazing social experience on the top floor, offering a stunning view of Piazza della Signoria. All guests sat together at one big table, sharing breakfast, coffee, and engaging in small talks. It was a delightful way to start the day. The car valet service was also a good experience, costing 35 euros daily.

However, the bathrooms could use some renovation and refreshing. Additionally, the air conditioning unit itself and the area behind it should be cleaned, as there was a noticeable buildup of mold, mildew, fungus, and dirt.

I have traveled many places all over the world but have never experienced the level of service I experienced at this hotel. We drove to Florence. It's such an old city with tight streets and lots of visitors, that my GPS got confused and we got lost, pretty near the hotel. I called the hotel and spoke to Umberto, the manager. He actually walked to where our car was parked, took the keys, and drove the rest of the way to the hotel. Otherwise, we would probably still be sleeping in our car. The breakfast was wonderful. You sit around a large dining room table and they bring you fresh fruit, fresh croissants and eggs / bacon if desired. The rooms were really nice and the location was amazing. It's right in Piazza Della Signoria, one of the most beautiful piazzas in Florence.

First step when we came to this place, the air perfume of this hotel was so clean and fresh. the Staff are accommodating and very kind. I like everything when we stay at this place. if I have a chance to return to Firenze again I'll book here again for sure :)

This is not what I dislike but just a small complaint since our room is between the Kitchen and Breakfast rooms. so, sometimes we hear a noise from outside more often especially in the morning and late night when people come back from the trip. I still give this place 10 stars. There are more good things than this little complaint anyway :)

Appreciated the complimentary water and drinks Loved how we were able to drop off bags and collect them anytime (check in or out) Location was superb, right in Piazza della Signoria (easy to find) and walking distance to all the main attractions The property is proper vintage and historical! Loved the vibes, decor, details and the group breakfast Room was lovely and we felt we were in a historical spot Loved opening the windows in the morning to see the merchants start their day, sign, put on music etc Plenty of restos and cafes around I will come back for sure! It’s now my favourite Florence hotel

The location is simply outstanding. The property is beautiful as are the rooms, which are charming. If you are into more modern hotels and need things to be meticulously up to date than you are probably better off in another establishment. The personal service by the splendid hotel manager was truly excellent. He’s a wonderful, knowledgeable and very helpful individual. The hotel is properly managed in no small part thanks to his deeply personal commitment to his management style. I will for sure recommend Residenza D’Epoca in Piazza Della Signoria to friends who I believe will appreciate it.

The staff here are so friendly and accommodating you feel like family. The room was big...the bed was super comfortable...the breakfast was served in the most delightful room with a view of Piazza della Signoria. There was a self serve bar available 24/7 and plenty of free cold water bottles to take on your travels around Firenze. My room had a sunken whirlpool bathtub....amazing! And I won't forget to mention the fabulous location in the piazza.

In order to maximize the air conditioning efficiency, it was necessary to keep the bedroom door closed. This made the bathroom as hot as a sauna, which was unfortunate, particularly given the heatwave. I did not mind climbing the stairs, but it may be a problem for other travelers, as it is an old building.

Perfectly located on the square near the Uffizzi Gallery and Duomo — we could even see the top of the Duomo from our amazing room at the top of this uniquely vertical hotel! Really enjoyed the lovely, large and formal breakfast table where all the guests gathered each morning for eggs, bacon, pastries and fancy coffee drinks served by welcoming and efficient waiters, combined with lively conversations about where the other guests were from. where the we’re traveling to and an exchange of “must see” recommendations! An unexpected and wonderful benefit was their beautiful and well-stocked bar and lounge where guests could serve themselves whatever their hearts desired🍷! But the best part of this hotel is the proprietor Umberto, bubbling over with enthusiasm for the unique history of the property and how he and his family have developed it over the last 20 years! He’s so welcoming, warm and helpful - what a prince of a man!!

The bed was very firm - a thick mattress pad would be ideal.

Such a friendly welcome and great location. Minor hiccup with hot water but mended swiftly. Staff just amazing and all guests so happy to be staying in such a wonderful location with delightful staff. Quite a lot of steps up to rooms but this is old city of Florence and you had a great little glass elevator. Location amazing and so close to best sights and museums plus river. Hope to stay with you again soon.

Quite a lot of steps and no handrail/rope for my travelling companion who has mild Parkinson’s.

The location is perfect for visitig the Uffizzi and other sites as well as cafes, restaurants, and shopping. The staff are friendly and kind. I have a bad knee which made getting in and out of the sunken tub difficult and they moved to a bigger room with a walk-in shower. They also provided breakfast early to accomodate my gallery booking. The rooms are spacious and the breakfast was delicious with eggs cooked to order, and homemade cake.

Nothing really. Just be aware that there are some stairs to climb to reach the elevator.
