The location and view was great. Bus straight outside the door every 20 minutes to downtown Sorrento. We went down most nights for dinner as atmosphere in Sorrento was fantastic. We ate in the hotel restaurant twice for dinner (we stayed eight nights) and the steak was very good. Rooms were lovely. I was on the second floor and two elevators to rooms. Pool was very good for a hotel pool. On the roof with bar and meals. Staff were always very helpful and friendly. Cleaning of rooms was immaculate. Bus from train station was great. Dropped us off right outside the front of the train station from the front of the hotel when we were leaving. We didn't realise this on arrival in Sorrento and it was 50 Euros for the taxi vs Euros 2 for the bus

So, we thought when booking it looked like a nice hotel, we were slightly concerned it may be too remote, being out of Sorrento. We couldn't have been more wrong. It was a gorgeous hotel, and the bus to Sorrento leaves and arrives just outside the door. So, don't get a taxi (which cost €30+ for less than 3 kms). The room was beautiful with a lovely balcony looking at Capri. Get up early to see the easterly light over the rocks. Oh, and a good sunset over Ischia too! Lovely bathroom, and good servicing. The restaurant was great, enjoyed breakfast and a lunch and two dinners there. Why would you go anywhere else! Staff were exceptional, always friendly and helpful. Thank you so much. MOST IMPORTANT: Soc Coop Marina della Lobra is a local ferry company that does trips to Amalfi/Positano and to Capri. They leave from a wee port at Massa Lubrense, but will pick you up at the hotel. Pick up a brochure at reception. You don't need any longer at Amalfi, Positano or Capri than their tours give you, it's a smaller boat, just 50ish people, great friendly staff, feels like a family-run business, not a chain or corporation. Boat was so clean and well presented, and they really had a lovely personal touch. Highly recommend. Oh did I mention the beautiful pool on the roof? Even beginning of May it was beautiful with the expansive view over bay of Naples. Why would you stay anywhere else.

Really lovely (retro'ish) hotel; wonderful, friendly staff from the moment we arrived; perfectly situated 10 minutes out of town (you'd want to be out of town as the thousands of tourists that pour into Sorrento every day and night must make it difficult to get a good night's sleep!): the bus stop is right outside the front door so very easy to get to town and back and at Eur1.30 each, an absolute bargain; the room was spotlessly clean; nice size; airy; air-conditioned with stunning views over to Capri. The swimming pool on the 4th floor (also with breath-taking views over sea to Capri....wow!..was really lovely, and they served lunch every day and there's a bar up there too (all which over-looked Capri in the distance) which opened until everyone had left to get ready for dinner. The whole hotel was spotlessly clean. The restaurant was fantastic and served fresh fish every evening and had great wines and desserts. It was so good, we ate there every evening rather than take a gamble on tourist traps in town and it was absolutely delicious every evening. I read another review on here that said, don't worry about going into town for food, just stay at the hotel as the food was superb...in fact maybe go and see Sorrento once (that is all we needed, it is soooo touristy) and then spend the rest of your time at the hotel by the pool relaxing immersed in the views across the sea to Capri, watching the boats race there in the morning and racing home in the afternoon! It is a really lovely hotel and we cannot wait to go back September!

The rooftop pool is fantastic, and everyone who works at the hotel, from the pool bartenders to the front desk staff to the cleaners, is lovely and welcoming. Rooms were very clean, and you can tell the building is well cared for. We loved raising the shutters every morning and seeing Capri out the window. In spite of facing the road, our room was pretty quiet at night (although my partner did sleep with earplugs). There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel to take you into Sorrento (about a 10-minute ride). Very robust breakfast every morning.

The beds were very firm, which we encountered at several hotels in Italy; adding a thicker mattress pad or featherbed would do wonders!

Tv was difficult to use, a lot of the channels didn’t work. The bottom floor rooms were quite loud with doors open, you could not have the balcony doors open due to traffic noise (I think it was mainly reverberation of the noise on the hard walls) The property was slightly dated, there are some areas that would benefit from upkeep and painting. A shuttle into town (with small fee) would make this hotel amazing. Sauna facility should be included in room fees

Our room was very nice with a view of the Isle of Capri. Although our room was right near the main road, it was pretty quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was a good size and the shower was spacious. Breakfast was very good with a large selection of items to choose from. The front desk staff were very nice and helpful. They arranged a boat trip for us to Capri and also helped us arrange transportation back to the train station in Naples. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel which made traveling into Sorrento very convenient. We arrived later in the afternoon and were able to order something for lunch from the menu at the pool. The pool area has plenty of lounge chairs and the pool is quite large. We had dinner a few nights in the restaurant and every meal was excellent. The restaurant staff were very nice and attentive. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely stay here again.

Super location and easy bus access from the train station

The pool was perfectly located on the roof, making for stunning views and very quiet. The views of Capri, bay of Naples and Ischia was amazing. The staff were all so helpful and really friendly, you were almost treated like part of the family. The Hotel was so clean and spotless. we used the spa facilities and the indoor pool was very special.

The road is very busy outside the hotel and quite noisy but didn't spoil out stay. We felt the pool and roof bar could have stayed open later in the evening.

This boutique hotel is a gem, with STUNNING views of Capri right outside your balcony door! Massa Lubrense is located a quick 15-min bus ride south of Sorrento, but there's not really a "town" there, per se. Luckily, the bus for Sorrento stops right outside the front door and it’s only 1,80€ to ride, which was amazing! Only downside was the cost for a taxi from Sorrento if you stay out past when the bus stops running - is about 40€ one way! The staff is phenomenal, especially at the front desk. The rooms are cute with amazing views, and have the best A/C in Europe, I swear. The rooftop pool was fabulous, complete with a bar that serves until early evening! The restaurant on site is also wonderful, which was a delight for two weary travelers looking for some good food just downstairs.

Shower is TEENY, not sure how a larger person would fit! It was tough being two 6' tall Americans. That was the only thing we didn't love about our room. Another weird thing to mention, you had to rent pool towels, which seemed like a weird thing to not provide for guests? Also, the towels smelled terrible (like rank body odor) so we ended up buying our own in town and using those instead.

The food at the restaurant is really good value for money and the staff so very friendly. The view is to die for, with beautiful views of the island of Capri. The rooms are very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location is great as it's just outside Sorrento, with a bus stop literally in front of the hotel. If you have a car it's a great drive to Positano and Amalfi. I certainly would recommend this place as a great place for a long weekend break :)

The indoor pool and spa area is small and has to be booked ahead of time with 1 hour slots only. A bit frustrating when you don't know exactly when's you'll be back. But in fairness, it's very clean and welcoming.
