Breakfast was great & good choice of Coffees machine at breakfast ☕ comfy bed, like mallows 😆😍

Unfortunately on arrival, I had ask staff if they or I could sweep up the glass which was in the carpark after I had given our reg details etc They immediately cleared it up, but feel it maybe should have been spotted early & cleaned up before the usual check in time 🙏 can improve for next time .plenty of space in the room, hair dryer, hanging space for coats . Room for our bags after shopping. Loved the location & walk to the Metro Centre & bus station to get to Newcastle... excellent location 👍👍🥂 Happy New Year a great stay , lovely staff who have worked at that Holiday in many years 🙌

Easy access into and out of city plus free parking. Comfortable bed with choice of pillow hard / soft. Blackout curtains. Large shower good Dove shampoo and body wash. Mirror with hairdryer together! Iron and board together! Free tea and coffee in reception are great 👍 Kettle in room extra top up in reception. Good wifi all round. Grab and go bags and cups if needed for quick breakfast. Hot cold buffet breakfast all included on stay. This was better hotel than our expectations and we will stay here next time

If I had to be very fussy then the bacon was overcooked if you were not there when it was put out and it carried on cooking in the hotplate dish BUT it was edible Lighting in bedroom was a little dim as just lamps no actually Lighting

Hotel located near where we wanted to be, room was adequate, very clean and what we needed, we had two dogs with us, grounds around hotel was good for a walk either along the river or in land. We have never stayed in a hotel with our dogs before as we have always been afraid that they would bark at any sound, but our dogs did not bark once they were happy curled up in their beds. Breakfast was really good, staff very happy. I would definitely book to stay at this hotel again but would book directly with the hotel not through booking.com.

We booked via booking.com as we have done in the past for other stays, price was good but they did not tell us that we would have to pay for each pet we had at the hotel. Hotel staff were very understanding, small charge made.

Very friendly welcoming staff, as a woman travelling alone it was good to feel like someone ‘cared’ and I felt safe throughout. The bed was very comfortable and I slept well most nights. Brekkie, whilst not a huge selection, was hot, fresh and tasty, and I love the simple but logical idea of putting takeaway cups beside the coffee machine. Having extra coffee and tea sachets readily available on a stand in the lobby was also refreshingly sensible. Special shout out to Adam at reception- I must’ve talked the poor lad’s ear off but he never faltered once.

There was an adjoining door to the next room which meant significant noise transfer, however this was only a problem on the first and final night as on other nights guests were very quiet. No air conditioning meant some very sweaty nights (the humidity was insane) but the fan was a welcome addition which helped a lot. But you didn’t have the cricket World Cup on telly in the bar and that was just rude haha.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Plenty of free parking available. Room was spotlessly clean & comfortable. Located quite some distance from Newcastle centre, but regular bus services stop a few minutes walk away. Room was quiet with windows shut. Breakfast was included & there was a good choice of hot & cold options. Breakfast was kept well stocked despite being very busy. Good power shower. No plug, but USB socket next to bed. We visited during the Great North Run. Hotel was very busy, but staff managed everything very well & even went above & beyond to assist those running (not myself, but I was impressed with the service provided). Well done!

All was good. Clean bright hotel, breakfast adequate . Ticks all boxes ..not luxury but meets needs as a short stay cheap priced hotel comfortable beds, hot showers rooms cleaned each day.. Car required ,but great bus service to Gateshead, and metro center which is about 15.mins walk if weather fitting too..

Could of done with a couple of extras veg at breakfast eg tomatoes, and mushrooms . Only beans on English menu breakfast .bacon sausage scrambled eggs. .there is croissants,toast cereals yoghurt n frozen fruit etc too. Coffee tea, juices water .

The whole experience of our stay at the hotel was one of pleasure. From the very pleasant receptionist on arrival, to the chambermaid who looked after the room, which was immaculate and extremely comfortable,, to the staff at the breakfast room making sure everything was to our liking. I certainly shall be recommending Holiday Inn Express, Gateshead to anyone thinking of visiting the Newcastle area..

We cannot say anything bad about the service provided at the Hotel. As seniors, it felt the staff were making sure we were happy with everything .The duty staff were a credit to their hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The receptionist ordered us a taxi when we enquired about one.

The cooked breakfast was a bit disappointing for the price. No mushrooms or tomatoes. The only chair in the accessible room was a narrow, swivel chair on casters, not suitable for a disabled person. The bed was a bit low with no facilities to assist getting out of it. *** We stayed at Holiday Inn at Dodworth, Barnsley in March their facilities were better in the room.***

Very warm welcome and an extremely helpful lady at reception when we arrived. Being completely new to the area, we were advised on local travel options and places to visit, which was brilliant. Clean and tidy hotel in a good location with everything you need for a short city break. Tasty breakfast with plenty of options and free parking too. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

No air-conditioning in our room, but they kindly installed a large fan without us having to ask. Seeming as we only got about 10 days per year when it is hot enough to justify having air-conditioning, it's hard to hold this against them. The fan was more than sufficient and we all slept well.

Location was good for access to A1, close to large shopping centre and bus stop to Newcastle centre. Room was large, bed and pillows were really comfortable. Hot food at breakfast remained hot and option to takeaway food/ coffee cups available. Lift was appreciated and good size carpark.

I found the decor very clinical. A few pictures decoration would of made it more appealing. I was dissapointed with my checkin/out experience as the hotel had been rated for good customer service.
