A real surprise. A big room with access to the downstairs public segregated onsen/hot tub. In a side wing is an eating area with microwaves and food machines. Plus a laundry.

The hostel clerk working during my stay has an amazing English. Arranging staff, spacious and clean dorm with lot of space compared to regular capsule. Perfect for me as a solo-traveller. The bathroom is the onsen, which is totally ok.

Please note the accommodation doesn't have a restaurant and that all surrounding restaurants close around 4pm. So, be sure to come with your own food (konbini...) or to buy food from the vending machine at the guest house. Microwave machines are available.

The room was very big. Has tatami and normal bed. The view of the lake was very pretty. Staff was nice and spoke very good english. Helped us with our troubles. The public bath is really nice. Have hair dryer, cotton buds, drinking water, etc.

Surroundings has no food options (closes very early) The walk up is really tiring if having a lot of luggage/belongings.

Though it's a bit of a walk out of the main town, that actually in my opinion lent the place a sense of seclusion and quiet. Helps get your adventure started if you have to walk a bit to get going. The staff were good. The onsen was pretty nice.

Though this part of Hakone seems a little too quiet, I got there just around the suggested check in time of 16:00 and basically everything was closed for the day.

The staff at the front desk was really nice. The fact that they give traditional clothing to walk around enriches the experience. The onsen view with the trees is something you enjoy.

Not that it matters a lot, but you must walk some distance to get to a bus stop or commerce.

Staff on reception, next to lake Ashi, lots of instant food to buy as restaurants aren’t open late, overall very clean

Only way of washing was in onsen, onsen room wasn’t the best, some very loud guests at 1-2am shouting in the kitchen - nobody to supervise this

Great place to stay ! You need the car to get there, but it is a lovely place. The room was big, confortfull, very clean with tatami big corner. the hot spring (Onsen) is amazing. Silence everywhere. Machines for food, drinks and ice cream. Very good place to visit Hakone and Lake Ashi.

Nothing to say.

Wonderful onsen, large dining room, comfortable dormitory beds, big spaces, location - near Togendai.

About 10 min walking from the stop along the road, but it's ok with the light baggage.

I liked the fact that the personal was really nice. Everything was clean and the onsen was nice. Also they provided a Yukata for me, basic elements and lockers.

The room was cold. But it was shared… maybe more options of food would be ok. But for the price was just correct

Fantastic staff! The two young gentlemen behind the desk helped us out so much, and spoke amazing English. We were very impressed.

Unfortunately the thin walls meant that some very loud guests kept us awake all night.
