The place is clean and it's near many wonderful and interesting places like the shinsaibashi street, kuromon market etc. We had a good time staying there and staff there knows many different languages.

The location is amazing - walking distance to just about everything you'd want to access in central Osaka. Close to several train stations on different lines that will get you just about anywhere in Osaka you'd want to go. We travelled with three teenage children (5 people in total) and our room was on the smaller side for a group that big (Japanese style family room), but it wasn't an issue. The staff were fantastic, very helpful with language tips. If you like ramen you're within a 5 minute walk of Kobe Beef Ramen, which was just about the best ramen we had in Japan. It's just near Dotonbori. Ignore the restaurants on Dotonbori - the best food is in the streets either side of it.

Room was smaller than the photos suggested but this didn't end up being a problem.

Stayed here for 4 nights. Location was great. 2 Family Marts and 7 Eleven close by. 5 minute walk to Daimaru and lots of little streets with eateries. Close walk to Dotonbori. Reception held our bags until we could check-in. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was located on Level 2. We were 4 adults so stayed in a 40sqm room which had 2 single bed and bunk beds which were huge. Shower/bath was separate to toilet. There was a kitchen with cooktop and larger than mini bar sized fridge with a freezer. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. Plus a dining table. Bins were emptied and towels replaced daily. The room was exceptionally clean. We were given 4 tokens on check-in which we could use for either sake, a bag of snacks or coffee pods from the reception area. There's a coin operated laundry room on the ground floor which was so handy! Took 50 mins to wash and dry a 7kg load for JPY1,000.

It was typical Mimaru - clean, efficient, comfortable, clever design and friendly staff. Even though it is located in a lively area, once the front door is shut you can’t hear anything outside - the sound insulation is fantastic. Lots of food nearby and also a 24 hour supermarket which is great if you want to cook at home (which you can because our room had a functional kitchen).

Nothing wrong with the property itself, but this is a very lively and at times sleazy area of Osaka so not the best for families. I should stress that this is a matter of personal preference!

We had a great 6 night stay here. The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble, and they were always friendly and very helpful. The location was great, close to train lines and shops and attractions. The room was a good size, and had everything we needed including a small kitchen. Would definitely stay here again!

My only complaint is the shower. The water barely had any pressure to it, which made it really hard to shampoo and rinse out long hair. Everything else was exceptional.

Great location close to Dotonbori, 2 metro stations and lots of places to shop and eat. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and spacious by Japanese standards, great for a family of 4.

Only downside was that this Mimaru has a shared laundromat facility on the bottom floor which is also open to the public. This means you are often waiting for use of the machines and you have to pay extra for laundry. Other Mimarus we have stayed at provided a washer/dryer in the room which is far more convenient.

Location was good. Walkable to the main shopping stretch with easy access to loads of food options. Staff were all great, friendly, helpful. The connecting coin laundry came in useful as well as we could do a load, go back to the room and come back for it later.

Would have been a 10/10 stay if not for an unfortunate smell in our AC unit that despite the best efforts of the staff - would not go away. Air conditioning smelt stale. We had to crack open a window to get some fresh air.

Great location, lovely staff. Family room was really big for our family of 4 and could have fit 2 adults and 5 kids. Only a short walk to the train and into shinshabashi shops and dontonbori area. Travelling with 12 & 14 year old boys and both of them loved this location in Osaka. There is a great supermarket close by for supplies. They allowed us to store our bags before checkin and after checkout which was really handy.

No real view from rooms and can feel a little dark inside the apartment.

The hotel was in a very central location in Shinsaibashi. It is about 8 minutes walk to Dotonbori and 8 minutes walk the other direction to Daimaru and Parco malls. Daimaru and Parco are located along the Shinsaibashi covered shopping street. If you pay an extra 5,000 yen, you can check in at 12 noon if there are rooms available. The apartment was spacious enough for the 3 of us. The shower area and toilet were separate, which is common in Japan. The shower area was big for Japanese standards and it comes with a shower and bathtub. Toiletries like body soap, shampoo and conditioner were provided but not toothbrush or toothpaste. The wifi strength in the apartment was strong and download speed was fast. The staff at the front desk were polite and professional but almost robotic to a sense as they always said the same thing when we returned.

There was no breakfast area. It was weird because Tokyu Stay which I know is part of the same group as Mimaru and Mimaru Suites, does offer breakfast. The problem with Mimaru Osaka Shinsaibashi East is that there was no space for a cafe but maybe they could have a tie-up with a nearby cafe so guests can have a basic breakfast voucher/coupon? The other thing I didn't like was that there was no 2 pin wall socket next to the bed to charge your phone. There was only a type A USB port. Let's be honest, very few people use a type A USB cable these days. They mostly use a type C USB cable. Another issue I had was there was no flat surface in the toilet area for you to place your phone. Would be nice to have one just above the toilet roll holders.

Good location with lots of eateries and a Family Mart nearby and about 10 min walk to Dotonbori. Room had lovely Japanese decor. We had the Family Apartment for 4 adults + 1 child and it was an acceptable size for us. Cosy with a bunk bed. Hotel staff were very helpful in helping us call up the restaurant and attraction to enquire on our behalf. Various staff are on site and they can speak many languages.

Please note the washing machine+dryer are on level 1 but it's open to the public so not advisable to go alone at night. Also the corridor is open air so feels pretty chilly during winter (possibly unsafe too?). Other than these, a great stay and would recommend for families.
