Location was excellent , close to the JR station and short walk to some super but expensive Hida Beef yakiniku restaurants. In the end we spent one day in the Old Town area and the other at the Hida No Sato village . Weather was better but still very cold. Room was spacious and beds very comfortable but could still hear the trains slightly at night as we had " mountain view" - bathroom facilities excellent . Staff were ok but not as friendly as in other hotels in Yokohama or Hikone - more like a European Hotel, which given the no of Western tourists and Groups visiting Takayama not that surprising. My daughter and Grandson loved the breakfast which I had included in their room deal.

Nothing really - everything very good and would recommend to others. Dinner at yen 9000 per person out of our range but surprisingly fully booked every night .

Location is great, walking distance from the bus and train station. Rooms are spacious, especially by Japanese standards. The room is clean, and the bed is comfortable. There is netflix available in the room.

To book the private onsen costs $40, which is a little steep, but the onsen was enjoyable and clean. There are no convenience stores close by, the nearest is the family mart across from the train station. The vending machines in the hotel were empty and not restocked

The breakfast was excellent with lots of fresh fruit and salads, Japanese dishes and Western dishes. The location was easy to walk to and from eateries and sights. The plastic-free amenities and the aluminum can of water instead of plastic was all fantastic. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet despite being next to a train line. The onsen was nice and the shampoo, body soap, conditioner in reusables all great quality.

More plantbased options for breakfast would be great (oatmilk, soymilk and a veggie burger for example). I would love to see some high-quality face cream in the womens onsen for after the bath.

i like the whole interior and location and also there's a handyman that pulled out the broken pin stucked on my friends mobile phone... very helpful

very disappointed that the hotel lack first aid material like BLOOD PRESSURE monitor, one of my friend suffered high blood pressure after bathing from hotel onsen, we asked the reception for the monitor but sadly they do not have, good thing the hotel nearby have one that we were able to borrow ... what if something happened? Who will be responsible? the reception didn't even bother to care :( Hope you do something about this

The private onsen and breakfast which had hide beef curry and high grade Japanese rice

That the bathroom had no bathtub where you can use your own salts to soak . The onsen is not mineral based.

Great classy hotel in a good location in Takayama, very close to Takayama station. The rooms are relatively big and comfortable, everything feels classy and well-maintained, and the design is nice and aesthetically pleasing. The private onsen is a pleasure - highly recommended as it’s not too pricey. The service was good and the drinks lounge was a nice touch as well.

The hotel didn’t have any attached or private parking, which I would expect from a hotel of such class, but at least they provide a small discount on a nearby parking lot and suggest some other parking lots if you’d like to save some money.

Thank you so much for this great experience. We had an amazing stay which was because of the wonderful staff in overall (thanks especially for the french/japanese lady who was fluent in english and gave us great advises to help us), the great mixed breakfast buffet, the great beds and the good location which was directly at the train station. A lovely and safe surrounding. Nice onsen at the roof top. Really comfortable and nice pyjamas.

There was an italien travel group. I met two of the ladys in the onsen and they did not follow the shower rules and went directly to the water, which is disgusting. I told them to shower but they didn't wash well. It would be nice if the hotel staff could take more care about informing the people of the japanese bath rules. There are a few hints but maybe it would be good to tell (especially the travel group leaders) the people about the rules when they check in.

Very clean rooms, premises and indoor & outdoor onsen facilities. Nice interior decorating throughout. Extremely welcoming and very helpful front desk (Virginie, Omae, Sudip, intern -Jidapa) who helped booked restaurants, find lost slipper (someone took slipper from onsen shoe rack) and mailed phone cable left behind (Virginie, Ken). Well maintained hotel that still feels new. Location within minutes from Takayama station, easy walk to Old Town, 7-11 around the right corner exiting hotel. Hotel umbrellas available for use. Suggestion: hotel has a list of Takayama restaurants. Would suggest to curate another list of kaiseki restaurants for guests looking for extra special experiences.

There was one female onsen guest who did not remove footwear before entering facilities. To remind guests on check-in on onsen etiquette in different languages.

This is our 2nd visit to Takayama and we picked something extraordinary this time. Location wise, this hotel is perfect, with only 3 min walk to the Takayama Station and only 10+ min walk to the tourist street - Kamisannomachi across the Miyagawa River, where you're never short of restaurant choices around the neighborhood. Please do note that shops tend to close slightly a bit early and if you target some famous Hida beef restaurants, you better have to book in advance. We'd say the onsens are definitely the highlight of this hotel. Since we're traveling with our child, the hotel does offer private onsen under reservation with a fee, and we enjoyed the privacy and family time spent with our child. What's great is that they even have vending machine outside onsens. Who'd have thought having a milk after onsen and before going to bed feels so divine. The room is gorgeous, feels so new and has all the amenities you need. The vast breakfast buffet food choices are amazing.

If you happen to travel to the city by car, please note that the hotel doesn't offer onsite free parking. There's a nearby carpark which is only 2 min walk where the hotel can offer you discount day parking ticket.

Clean, nice size room. Staff helpful, easy check in. The roof top Onsen was just wonderful. Short walk to the village the staff provided us with a map.

I cannot comment on the bar and restaurant as we did not use these services.
