I don't get what the bad reviews are about. It's cleaned everyday with new bedsheets, free bath and sauna with body soap, shampoo and conditioner, free towels, free razor blades and shaving foam, even free pyjamas that get replaced everyday. Great location, near a central subway station, walking distance to ueno and akihabara and even the imperial palace and gardens if you're keen. Doesn't have a very social vibe to it, but still possible to meet people

(but the people that you meet are only men)

Quite, everybody minds their own business and not bothering anyone. Loads of facilities, including jacuzzi and sauna (!) that can be used at any time. Clean and functional. Capsules quite nice, they even have a TV set!

They would let you leave your luggage before check-in if you arrive early but they won't allow you even to stay at the reception area before or after check-in. They asked me to wait outside, which I refused, but said they would charge me if I stayed in the reception after 10am, the check out time ... Other than that no issues at all, staff will do their best to help you in the typical, helpful Japanese fashion - it's just that they have this strange rule ... At the same time, there is some weird characters around, kind of people staying in the hostel long term (?) but no issues at all, people are minding their own business.

This hotel actually exceeded my expectations. Being very honest, for the price you pay for the reservation and for being a capsule/budget hotel, I wasn't expecting much and was extremely surprised when I got there. The staff, even though most didn't speak English, were always eager to help, the hotel was very quiet, the capsule was pretty comfortable, they absolutely had EVERYTHING you needed as part of the reservation (spray for bedhead, skincare products, free deodorant spray for your feet and shoes, etc.), and also, the public bath was quite spacious and tattoo friendly. Besides these facilities I mentioned, the hotel is also close to public transportation, close to plenty of good restaurants, close to convenience stores and even to a Don Quijote. I totally recommend staying in this place.

Amazing. No words. It was my first time in Japan, traveling solo, and also my first in a capsule hostel. I had my doubts going into it but everything was exceptional. The capsule was bigger than expected, had plenty of space for me and my stuff. The place had everything I needed: shower, bug and clean bathrooms, small areas to relax. It definitely surpassed my expectations. The staff was really nice.

Two really small things: the pillow was really flat, felt difficult to fall asleep. Also, on my first night they gave me like a pijamas to walk around comfortable but they took it away when cleaning the capsule after my first night. Not a big deal, but still worth mentioning. Loved the place! :)

This felt like an older capsule hotel, but I found it to be pretty cozy. One of the cheapest accommodations you can get in Tokyo, and it’s in the active area of Ueno. Ameya Yokocho Market is like a 5 minute walk, Ueno park around 7-10 minute walk, and Ueno station around 10-15 minute walk. There is a metro station about two minutes away from building. WiFi was good. There are toilets and sinks on every floor. Washer and dryers are available in building. There’s like a work or desk area on the third floor, but it was pretty small.

There was a strange smell in the rooms, but it wasn’t too bad. Shower is Japanese onsen style, where you shower in a public area. There were 5 sit-down showers and one western style shower, so 6 showers in total. The bed was fine, but was a little small. I’m about 5’10”, 180cm, and my feet reach the bed curtain when lying down. Had a JR pass mailed here, but it wasn’t picked up by the building so I had to have it sent to a pickup locker at a store.

They cleaned the capsule everyday. Restroom amenities are abundant. Japanese bath is superb.(but, no single shower room provided on each floor.) Very close to subway Chiyoda line exit 4. Close to Keisei train station, Ueno.

The Japanese bath room is open 24 hours , so when do they clean the bath tub? The common area at the first floor(TV space) is so cramped. Many luggages occupied half of the space. Actually it accommodated 4-5 people only. The lockers might not be that useful, for the door of the locker is merely 5 inches(or so) width. Only 1-2 shirts and trousers can be put in. (that is it designed for?) But, all in all, I like this place anyway.

PRICE: This is the MOST affordable capsule hotel I've found in Tokyo. Anyone on a budget should definitely consider this capsule hotel. LOCATION: The area is within walking distance from Ueon Okachimachi and Ueno Park. It's an easy walk (without any luggage in tow.) There are plenty of convenience stores around. Train options are Tokyo Metro's Chiyoda Line, and if you walk a bit, JR Line and Ginza Lines. POD: It was quite comfortable for me (I'm 173cm and 68KG.) If you're not used to staying in a capsule hotel, it may be a bit uncomfortable especially if the person in the next pod snores loudly. FACILITIES: The best part is the bath. If one is not used to onsen/sento, it may be a bit uncomfortable. If one loves onsen/sento, then one will definitely enjoy staying at this capsule hotel. There is also a sauna. There is a small lounge area at the first floor where one can buy coffee and snacks while watching TV. STAFF: I think some of them can speak English because they get foreign guests.

Remember that it's a capsule hotel so if you're traveling with huge luggage in tow, they may not fit in the locker. You can leave them just outside your pod though as long as they don't inconvenience other guests.

FREE Wi-Fi, pyjama, coffee, big towel, face towel, scrub towel, shavig foam, one-time use twin razor, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, after shave lotion, face lotion, scalp care lotion, shaping wax for hair. Coin washer and dryer is very nice. Sauna with hottub also available enjoyed in the evening and morning. Very overtuned establishment in a very good place with very caring staff who knows a bit of english for a very cheap price.

Nice play to stay, good quality price. Everything is great. The metro is not far to come and go. Clean, quiet and comfortable.

Everything is writed in Kanji, so it's not easy to read for foreign people but the staff is here and helps a lot to understand everything you need to stay there. It could be great to have a little English welcome book for people who are not able to understand English fluently and need text, at least for the bathroom area. If you do that, you deserve a 10. Thank you.

It is a great stay close to Tokyo University when you only need to sleep there. Don't expect anything fancy, but the capsule serves it purpose and all the amenities like shaving cream, razors etc. are a nice perk.

The capsule is itself is a bit old and is lacking ventilation a bit, it's clean though. The communal bathing experience is something you have to get used to, no sperate showers.
