Great location, 1 minute walk from JR Station Shin-Okubo, good connected to most tourist destinations, and very close to Shinjuku. The Staff was very friendly and told me about the Fireworks Festivals that would take place that evening, thank you very much for that. The room was bigger than I expected and clean. The fact that the shower and the toilet were separated was a plus.

The walls are very, very thin and in the morning I could hear every step the people in the room above mine were taking. Also, I was a bit irritated about the fact that I payed twice the rate that was stated on the door for one night, but I guess that I have only myself to blame for that.

location was perfect for the yamanote line. a few steps from the train station. lots of restaurants, convenience stores and don quijote nearby. walkable to shinjuku. elevator location is just right at the entrance of shin okubo stn. clean and spacious room, bed was perfect for a tired body. i love that the bath tub, sink and toilet are separate. complete toiletries. staff are friendly and helpful. cleaners really do their job.

Perfect location for first time in Tokyo - just 2 minutes walk from shin-okubo station providing convenient transportation to all parts of Tokyo and only ten minutes walk from Shinjuku (if you want to return after the last train). Room was clean and had everything we needed. Biggest room we had in Japan for that price. Sports center is close with cheap one day pass options.

The rooms had everything you needed and were clean. The staff were very nice, and the location was great, as it was close to many Korean food stores. also close to a very good train station.

The beds were quite hard, but they weren't the worst. Our room didn't have a window, but if you're in Japan, you shouldn't be spending too much time in your room except for sleeping, so it was okay.

I loved the price and the location. Shin-Okubo City Hotel is just a station away from Shinjuku and 2 or 3 stops from Harajuku and Shibuya. The room was simple but clean, inviting and comfortable. Our room had a separate toilet and shower area. The bed was comfortable and the balnket was warms and heavy. The air conditioning unit worked well.

I have no complaints except that the hotel failed to publish that there was an extra charge for the extra bed on top of their published rate for a triple sharing room. However when I pointed this out, they were quick not to charge me the extra bed fee anymore. Also, there is no elevator, so if you have heavy luggage this may be problematic for you, but we did not mind going up and down the stairs even with our luggage.

Great value and pretty quiet. I would say the rooms were surprisingly roomy compared to cheap Tokyo hotels. It's quite a gem of a spot. It's in a popular spot and a quick 1 minute walk to the shin okubo station. It was easy to get to places which made it a good home base if you are planning to travel around Tokyo. There are a lot of nearby things to check out as well. There are two don quixotes within 5 minutes walking if you need anything.

On weekends it gets pretty crowded around the area. For example, the shin okubo station is right around the corner, but it could take a few minutes to get through the crowds to the small station when normally it would take a minute. Not a big issue, but something to point out.

Location was great as it was within 4mins of train station and situated around bustling KoreanTown area with lots of food resto, stores, etc. Hotel was neat and tidy and was kept up clean with daily cleaners. Staff at front office was great to deal with.

Small rooms but it is not a deterrent to come back and book again. It is just right for the value.

Excellent location, 3 mins from JR shin-okubo Station and lots of places to eat and convenience stores within walking distance. The room was great value, bed comfortable, fridge, kettle, toiletries, robes and slippers all provided! They also stored our luggage before check in time.

Walls are thin so you can hear people walking up the stairs and through the corridor etc but it never affected my sleep, and they randomly stopped giving us matcha sachets upon cleaning our room half way through our stay.

The staff was super friendly and always ready to go the extra mile to help us. The location was perfect, near one of the train stations on the Yamanote line. The room was actually bigger than I imagined

The walls were super thin so you could hear noise from the other guests and outside but everyone kept the noise to a minimum so it didn't bother us. Also the beds were a bit too hard for us but that's just a personal preference. Overall we were completely satisfied

The room is comfortable enough and well sized. It has everything you will need just to stay a night or two. There were also free robes and toiletries and it was very clean.

It became very stuffy and damp in our room, due to the small size and not being allowed to open the window. After washing the extractor fan in the bathroom was not strong enough to remove the damp. We had to resort to keeping the AC on for this reason so the room was not exceptionally damp but this would not be an option in the winter.
