Norfolk Towers is an excellent base for exploring Nairobi. It's on a safe road near the Norfolk Hotel (taxis always out front), the University of Nairobi (smartly dressed students and faculty walking around), and the central police station. The National Museum, Snake Park, and Botanical Gardens are a short walk away, just behind the hotel, and I'd recommend visiting all three for at least half a day. The Norfolk Towers grounds are safe and quiet. The complex has a mix of apartments for residential living and rooms for rent, but I barely saw or heard the people who live there. My room was great: a full on studio apartment. The kitchen was perfect for my needs (making coffee or tea, preparing fruit) because I ate out downtown in great and cheap restaurants like Artcaffe, CJs, and Beirut. The walk to downtown takes about 10 minutes via a pedestrian bridge. The couch and TV were great for downtime. The bed was good but not great, but I slept well overall. The patio was a nice place to relax and to dry damp clothes. The staff were all kind and helpful. I looked forward to the smiles and banter with the guards at the gate, and the receptionists repeatedly met my various requests, such as for access to the conference room, where the wifi was strong. And the swimming pool! I picked the Norfok Towers in part because I lap swim and the pool is indeed 25 yards and great for a dip or a workout. I'm a tall guy who traveled alone and I felt very safe at the hotel and walking around downtown. This surprised me as I recall dire warnings from the 2000s about "Nairobbery" - when downtown was unsafe. Most of the bazungu now seem to congregate in the suburbs and not frequent downtown, but for those intrepid souls who want to experience a vibrant urban scene, I can't image a better place than Nairobi; it's certainly much cooler than Kampala and less menacing than Kigali. Check out the crazy art on the buses on Tom Mboya St. and Accra Road.

The wifi was weak in my room during the first week of my stay, but during the second week, the hotel upgraded its system and the access vastly improved in my room. (When it wasn't good, I could walk 30 seconds to reception and they let me use the conference room, with comfortable chairs and table, where the wifi was fast.)

The apartment was spacious, comfortable and clean. It was also cleaned on a daily by the cleaning staff. There's enough ammenities, such as a microwave, oven, utensils, etc... I also really liked the fact that there was 24h security and a gate. The staff at reception were also really helpful and kind. The gym was a nice plus. The apartment is not too far from a couple of interesting sights. Overall a good location too.

It seemed like the fridge wasn't working. When there's a protest in Nairobi, that's the area that's mainly targeted. The pool was not heated. The water was too cold to swim.

The entire area is safe inside the compound and outside as well! Peaceful and relaxing with a nice clean pool. I have been here twice and will return again in a week.

No elevators in many sections. No restaurant on property. However there are two amazing ones just. A few steps away outside which I used frequently! Highly recommend!

The staff were great. The night we checked in late at night one of the receptionists cant remember her name was very helpful and answered all our questions. She went an extra mile helping us even with our luggage. Rooms were clean and bright. Airport shuttle was provided from Jomo kenyatta international airport(JKIA)..But everything was exceptionally great We could have stayed longer but we had to catch a flight to Mombasa the following day. But highly recommended ...I forgot to tip this receptionist who helped us but next time .Jet lag affected us we were so tired coz of the night flight to Nairobi from USA.

Room spacious and bed very comfortable. Plenty of hot water in shower room. Kettle for tea and coffee, plus microwave and fridge. The pool wasn't open during my 2night stay but that didn't matter. It's an ideal area for walking to the museum and to the city centre, and hotel is cheaper than the neighbouring options. Fabulous seafood restaurant 5mins walk away. Staff and security very friendly and always happy!

Staff were excellent and it's a great location , 5 minute walk into the city. special mention for the security staff who made our stay really enjoyable, always up for a laugh. The grounds are really well maintained and the pool is clean.

The place is a little dated so a few of the facilities could use some tou h ups, the bathroom mainly had tiny water leaks but everything else was fantastic

Stayed in the studio facing the garden. Everything about Norfolk Towers apartment was perfect - cleanliness, staff, security, perfect location of the city centre away from the busy streets, felt very homely and very comfortable, welcoming, very helpful staff who went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. Perfect and good working facilities in the apartment , kitchen, bathroom, living area, bedding. Lovely balcony. Really enjoyed my stay, would definitely book it again many times.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, spacious studio apartment. 24 hour reception was really helpful too.

Had to carry bags up and down four flights of stairs after long flight. No ceiling fan. Could leave windows open for a breeze although not sure if this was safe on the first night.

Perfect location and professional staff.

The whole building needs renovation, especially the paint work. Our first night was cold because the windows in two bedrooms were old and broken down. However, they were fixed when we reported, in the morning. Secondly there are a lot of Mosquitoes in and around the property.
