It was very Italian, light, clean and well laid out. Lovely spacious rooms ….. bedroom, lounge area and super balcony. Bathroom also good. We were in a first floor room which we loved and looked down onto one of the swimming pools through palm and flame tree leaves. The staff were excellent ….. always had a smile and cheerful greeting and were happy to help. Plenty of sun beds,comfy sofas and enormous squashy cushions to lounge around on and enjoy the sea breeze. Wonderful to be right on the beach. Do not be out off by the concrete look, it works really well!

We were disappointed with the restaurant….. the menu was a bit samey when it came down to it. I was hoping to have daily fresh fish and although Catch of the Day was offered it turned out to be barracuda on our first night and every night there after. Fresh fish just needs to be cooked well and served simply and not marinaded to death! Part of the delight in staying in an hotel on the beach, you expect to have a variation on Catch of the day and have super fresh fish.

The location was amazing. The food was very good, fish and seafood dishes with Italian taste.

A part from the availability of gluten free spaghetti, the facility is not inclusive for people with celiac disease. There is no any bakery gluten free product for breakfast nor for lunch and dinner, though in all Africa is very easy to get naturally gluten-free flours. Also, the availability of a spa could make the vacation much more enjoyable.

Excellent location right on the marine national park and a great white sandy beach, 5 minutes tuk tuk (or taxi) away from Watamu. Very spacious and super clean room, bathrooms equipped with all amenities (including a bidet). Good breakfast with a decent variety of sour and sweet stuff. Super kind and friendly staff and a really good a la carte restaurant with a well-thought Italian touch. Very clean a nicely designed swimming pools. Walking in the sea with low tide in the morning was fun! I really recommend Kobe Suites resort for a comfortable stay in Watamu!

Everything was perfect, and if I really have to think about an improvement I would say to have a softer beds :( Other than that, our stay was great and super relaxing.

The stay in this hotel was very comfortable. The food was great, rooms are very clean and spacious.

The hotel manager behaved arrogantly. We had a confirmation from the hotel stating that breakfast would start at 7:00 AM, but it actually began at 7:30 AM. The manager didn’t even acknowledge that we had the confirmation from the hotel.

Kobe was paradise! The location was idyllic, room very spacious and comfortable, staff friendly and helpful, food delicious and very good value. The ambience was peaceful, chic and relaxing. Pools were quiet and super clean. The beach was easily accessible and good for walks into Watamu. We will be back!

The coffee at breakfast could have been a lot better. Individual cafetières would be ideal.

We had a very comfortable suite (5) with a very large balcony. Good aircon and a nice bathroom with excellent shower pressure. Restaurant position is really nice and we both enjoyed the food. Good selection of wines. There is a huge and interesting beach at low tide. Two pleasant pools with non of the “reserving sunbeds” horror. Under thirty rooms with pleasant grounds. We thought the hotel was good value for what was on offer. Most importantly we would stay again.

Very few criticisms; the room needs a black out curtain between the seating area and the bedroom, the hot water is scolding hot, so always run the cold first, there was no evening turn down service. The beach is not really a swimming beach other than at low tide when sandy clear bottomed stretches appear.

The location of this Italian-managed boutique hotel is ideal; the rooms are very spacious and the restaurant is a delight thanks to the Italian signature. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

During the day, many guests come from other hotels on a day-use basis. The beach boys reserve the sun loungers by the pool and facing the beach for these day guests and refer the hotel guests to the rear pool without a view of the sea. The management takes note of this and you have to insist resolutely that you can also use these loungers as a hotel guest - unfortunately a stale aftertaste. After staying 6 days in little Italy we missed an African feeling.

I loved this hotel. It’s in the most incredible location. The beach is stunning. The hotel has 2 beautiful salt water pools. My room had a lovely porch overlooking the back pool. The room is really generously sized. The food is delish and the margaritas exceptional! And the staff wonderful- attentive but never in your face. Kobe is so special!

I think the mattress is a bit hard. Also breakfast could have more options.

Every bit as beautiful as we'd remembered from 5 years ago. Kobe is in a great, location at the quiet end of a long sandy beach. The fabulous sandbar exposed at low tide right on the doorstep and whilst other stretches of the beach were covered in weed the strip outside kobe remained mostly clear. With Mida Creek and fascinating rock pools exposed at low tide a short walk away, a small local market next door and plenty of tuktuks available for trips around Watamu the slightly out of the way location was not an issue. The entire hotel was in exceptionally good condition and staff were constantly working to keep the property looking its absolute best. We had an ocean view room and were delighted with the size, comfort and spec of the room. The newly refurbished upstairs rooms with lovely balconies even better. Staff throughout the hotel were observant, proactive, friendly and exceptionally helpful. They take pride in what they're doing and we enjoyed chatting with many of them. All in all we had an amazing stay.

Our only slight disappointment was the onsite restaurant. On a previous stay the food had been exceptional. This time the menu was bland and uninteresting and the food lacked creativity and added nothing to our stay.

The setting was amazing. The staff worked their socks off and was very pleasant and welcoming. the design of the room, the layout, the fact it had a fridge is a nice touch. the food was fresh, amazing taste and reasonable price. Everywhere was was clean outdoor and undercover dinning was really nice. the short walk onto the beach with sun Ed’s overlooking it and these where made out of rustic trees set on sand. staff where always on hand but not pushy. we had the most perfect time

small tea cups in the room. No milk in the room to go with the tea bags. we had a few power cuts whilst we where there was high can’t be helped but ensuring you have a light at hand can be useful.
