All was good . Staff were friendly and a good ( but expensive) breakfast was available.

We chose this hotel because of the pool . This had breakdown problems during our stay so was only available for 50% of our time there . I realise the staff were not personally responsible for the breakdown but I will be requesting a small refund. We could have gone to a cheaper , similar hotel without a pool if we had imagined that this would have happened during this busy time or a “plan B “ was put in place in case of this situation occurring, ( as I believe it has happened quite often).

The breakfast was excellent, plates were very hot which meant the food was kept really warm. They would always replace the food that had been finished, we enjoyed having breakfast everyday, lots of choices of food. It's central so close to Liverpool one, China town and Albert docs all walking distance. Mamasan restaurant is close by such a lovely restaurant to go too, we went twice. There are other restaurants close by in the town and Tesco and home bargains are walking distance from the hotel. The facilities are easy to access in the basement, the sauna is nice and hot and the pool nice and clean not to cold. Very friendly staff always willing to help. It was our first wedding anniversary and they upgraded our room to an executive room. They wrote a lovely card and left us some chocolates and two bottles of prosecco. We are very thankful, so kind of them to do that. Thank you Novotel we will be visiting again :)

The machine used for the hot chocolate was very pale didn't enjoy the hot chocolate.

The hotel was clean and tidy and the location was absolutely fantastic. Next door to a secure car park and only a short walk to all the shops and restaurants.

The mattress was a bit on the firm side, so while not as comfortable as I’d hoped it was tolerable for just the one night. The pillows could definitely do with being replaced or upgraded though as they were thin, very flat and uncomfortable - even doubling them up didn’t make them any more comfortable. The bedding also had a quite an overpowering chemical smell to it which is either to do with what they are washed in or how they are stored.

The most amazing thing was the location , it was literally perfect , right at the centre of the city with everything around : bus terminal, Liverpool one shopping mall, all restaurants and bars. Another thing which was particularly enjoyable was that the staff were very nice , friendly and polite ( reception, security and cleaning staff ). Beds were comfortable and room size was ok.

The only downside is the hotel lift system. Although there are 3 lifts , during rush hour it's impossible to get to where you wanna go as the lift goes up and down depending who calls it and how close they are . Had to take the stairs for 9 floors a couple of times as this was annoying. Also during check in and check out hours the lobby is extremely packed , so I guess they should consider making the reception area bigger and recruiting a couple of more people . Even though the people who work there are very professional, they can only be as fast as humanly possible...

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Great shower. Dog friendly

We had dinner in the ropewalks restaurant Thursday 10 August 23 evening. When we walked in there was no one on the entrance, so we found ourselves a table. There were 3 members of staff talking on the very quiet bar. I had to ask for a menu and order at the bar, i had to ask that as well. It cost £29 for pizza fries and a Diet Coke, the pizza was drenched in balsamic vinegar which ruined it, but as no one came to ask if our food was okay we couldn’t offer feedback or ask for another pizza. Don’t recommend the restaurant.

Great location. Pool was lovely for the children and towels provided at no additional cost.

Room service was advertised as being available but our order was cancelled after 20mins without explanation. When I queried it with reception they said room service wasn’t available. It would be better to know this at the start of the process! We were able to eat in the restaurant however that also seemed chaotic. There were no staff around and I had to ask in the kitchen to find out how to order. I was told to go to the bar but there were no table numbers so the bartender had to watch where we sat down to put our order through. He also had a busy bar to deal with and looked under pressure. Unfortunately the food wasn’t wonderful either. Not the dining experience I would expect in a 4 star hotel.

Before arriving to the Novotel hotel I phoned for directions to speak to a lovely member of staff who gave helpful clear direction to the hotel. Then upon arrival we were greeted by warm reception staff who offered useful help with our stay at Novotel and Liverpool. Everything I read in other peoples reviews about the hotel lived up to my expectations and more. We most definitely will be using this hotel again and pass the word around of the politeness, cleanliness and comfortable rooms with all you need modern cons also any help you should need over your stay is exceptional. Absolutely nothing I could say I didn’t like about the Novotel. This was truly a fantastic experience after staying in other hotels that haven’t met my expectations.

The pool was spotless. Excellent staff Room spacious Ordered a toogoodtogo bag from the restaurant downstairs at breakfast time which was fantastic value for money and very tasty Location is perfect Comfy beds Plenty of plug sockets around room Fridge and safe in room

Bin wasn't emptied despite us leaving it outside the door while cleaner was lifting other bins. A staff member walked into our room early in the morning without warning or apologies while I was stood only in a towel after the shower. 4 people occupying the room only tea, coffee, mugs and spoons for 2 people which was not topped up or replenished.

Lovely overnight stay. Location is excellent, close to train stations, shops, city centre, the docks. Beds were comfy, rooms were quiet. Most staff (one wasn’t as helpful as the others) were really lovely and helpful. Pool and facilities really nice. Bar/restaurant is a nice atmosphere, didn’t eat there so can’t comment on the food. But had a lovely wine and was a nice relaxing vibe. Also arrived early and we were going to leave luggage but room was ready early

Was a lot to like. But had a couple of issues. The key cards are a bit of a nightmare, four times in one overnight stay I had to go to reception as they didn’t work. We were able to check in early which is great, was a very quick process and felt nothing was explained by lady on reception. Got in the lift and it didn’t work, hadn’t been told we needed to use them for the lift. Got to the room and the cards didn’t work for the room either. Didn’t have breakfast there, which we had planned too but thought it seemed rather pricey @ £18 per person. Stated there is a mini bar in the rooms, we had no mini bar.
