The staff are lovely, they provide a warm, personalised and attentive service. I was a bit worried about the hotel not being staffed in the later afternoon evening and overnight but you have an emergency number and the Coleridge team are very attentive and accessible, as I discovered on my last evening. My taxi (Get Cab Malta) was about 30 minutes late collecting me to go to the airport. Without me contacting her, Maya called me to see if I was okay and offered to get me a local cab if I had to wait too long. They could not have been more helpful and friendly. Thank you again Maya and team.

This is nit-picking, but if I were the owner, I would review the balance of authenticity versus client comfort and safety re. the lighting in the bedrooms and going down the steps to the cellar. Some of the bedroom lighting is dim, cold (cold white instead of warm white lighting which clashes with the ambience) and impractical (not positioned where you need them). The renovation and decor overall are lovely though - as you can see from the photos.

The stay from start to finish was perfect! The hotel staff are extremely friendly, patient and helpful! From the moment we started our stay to the moment we left there was always personal care for us. On day one we were explained where all the city highlights were and how to get there and thoughout our stay we continued to receive advice and tips. What was striking was the enthusiasm and the genuine interest and care. This is a hotel where you don't feel like a number! The breakfast every morning was great as was the spacious room with balcony on street view. Despite the street view the room is very quiet and comfortable so you wake up well rested, also because of the quality of the bed to which both my wife and I are sensitive. I would highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel, the location is perfect to explore Malta from. Again thanks to the staff for making this a memorable and wonderful stay! We loved it!

Breakfast great, and manager went that extra mile

Boutique hotel in a 16th century building. Beautifully renovated and decorated. With all amenities, even an elevator! Fabulous breakfast serving hot and cold items. Location is perfect close to numerous museums and restaurants. The staff was super helpful, going the extra miles to help out with luggage, transportation, advice on local attractions. Fridge was well stocked. We spent a full week there and it was magical.

Nothing realy. Suggestion: for longer stays, more clothes storage space and hangers are required. There was only one suitcase folding bench provided which meant that one suitcase had to be left open on the floor.

The Coleridge was in an ideal location, close to everything and yet quiet. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us, Maya, Fedora and Norissa were lovely and couldn't be more helpful if they tried. They had a breakfast basket sent to our room when we needed to leave early one morning for a tour. They were able to arrange a private tour for us by taxi. They were helpful, friendly and courteous. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The included breakfast was ideal with local cheese, fresh fruits and much more.

We were happy with everything.

The hotel was in a very central location yet still quiet at night. It is in an old and stunningly beautiful building. Our bed was so comfortable and we had the best sleep ever. There were plenty of bars and restaurants very close by. Ones to suit every taste and budget. Breakfast was fresh with plenty of variety. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They gave us lots of helpful info about places of interest and even packed us a breakfast to take on our early flight. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.

Maya and Snezana are as nice as can be, hard-working, and dedicated to making your stay as enjoyable as possible. During check-in, Snezana showed us points of interest on a detailed street map of Valletta with a map of Malta, Comino, and Gozo on the back which she gave us to keep. She explained locations and prices for public transportation and guided tours. Maya arrived to let us know that our room was ready early, so we didn’t need to find something else to do to fill the time between our airport shuttle drop-off at noon and the regular check-in at 3 p.m. The hotel’s location is ideal for exploring Valletta day or night. Just around the next corner, you will find one good restaurant after another. Our room has a high ceiling with magnificent chandelier, a balcony, and was romantically furnished with beautiful antique pieces. The bed is super comfortable with crisply clean sheets and comfortable pillows. Breakfast was excellent each morning with fresh fruit, egg dishes, cheeses, cold meats, breads, juice. Maya prepared baked avocado with egg yolk one morning just so we could experience it for the first time. Coffee was prepared in the kitchen however we wished and served at our table with style. Thank You Maya, Snezana, and your three good helpers for a wonderful stay!

We loved everything about the stay. The hotel itself was amazing, the room was cozy, the staff was extremely friendly and open as well as helpful. We stayed in the Erskine room, which was located on the ground floor and was perfect for us. Comfortable bed, cozy yet stylish interior and really quiet too even though it is located close to the reception. The staff was always open for tips regarding what to visit and where to go in Valletta and made sure to make our stay as confortable as possible. The location was great, very central and within walking distance of everything in Valletta! We will definitely be back and can only recommend the stay to anyone looking to visit Malta.

No complaints whatsoever

Its location was perfect for exploring Valletta and the 3 cities. The welcome was warm and the service and friendliness was exceptional throughout our stay. The room was spectacular, spacious and had a bed that was incredibly comfortable and opulent! The bath toiletries were of a very high standard and the property was immaculate. The breakfasts were great, good selection and impeccable service! Sets you up well for the day! The staff were amazing and so friendly and helpful, especially Maja and Snezana who helped make it a truly wonderful stay! We WILL be back!!!

That we had to leave!

This small hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Valetta, close to the tourist sites of the city and excellent restaurants. The breakfast had a limited choice but still very good and the staff were exceptional. There was an item missing from my room and when I texted the hotel manager (no 24hr reception), it arrived within 5 minutes! Would stay here again but probably upgrade to a room with an external window!

The room is on the ground floor beside the reception so it was a bit noisy some mornings. A bigger bed would have been better but it was the maximum size that would fit into this narrow (but still not small!) room.
