The facilities and decoration of the whole hotel is amazing, really nice taste. The hotel has, with no doubt, the best facilities of Holbox. Breakfast is a la carte but the portions are quite generous. The room was spacious and beautiful. The staff was really friendly and welcoming. There was suncream available in the swimming pool. Very quiet and romantic hotel, ideal for couples. Would definitely recommend it!

The yoga classes were cancelled last minute due to the rain but with no notification, I had to ask the staff. The water of the swimming pool was boiling, it would have been nicer to have it a little bit colder.

Very relaxed vibe, breakfast was good and loved the location. We had been pre warned that it was 5 Star Holbox style and the staff balance luxury with a laid back approach well. Room was beautiful and comfortable and the staff were very accommodating of our needs. Gym / yoga was great. Town is a simple 10 minute walk and if you time it right you can enjoy beautiful sunsets and starry nights. The walk was a welcome party of our nightly outings..

We didn’t notice / suffer from the noise problems mentioned in some of the reviews. The background noises felt in keeping with the style and vibe of the property. As already mentioned, the relentless asking for tips is a distraction and feels like it is forced upon the staff. The hotel could find another way to handle this.

There is no denying that the hotel is very beautiful and has a lovely relaxing feel to the place. The family of Iguanas in the courtyard to the hotel was a genuine treat to walk past every day. The staff were on the whole very friendly and there was a lovely vibe to the place.

I am told that across Booking.com it has been mentioned before, but the hotel rooms have absolutely no sound proofing. You can hear word for word what people are saying in Rooms above you. We stayed in Mangle 2 the first two nights (we had to change because of the noise) and when people came home very late, we were kept up all night as the sound was as bad as being in the room with them. Further more we were on the road side of the hotel, so were kept up by the noisy buggys that go past all night. I appreciate the hotel is going for the authentic eco vibe, but for an expensive 5 star resort, you should be able to get a good nights sleep.

We love Aldea, we visited last year as well. Staff is great and veey attentive! Isais, who works at the main dining area is amazing! Food is delicious and location is perfect! Rooms are spacious and very well kept, rooms get cleaned daily!

The one thing that changed this year was they had to charge a security deposit of 1,000 USD to your card. Now this isn't a problem, but they didn't bother to notify us before arriving. Like I said, the hotel should notify their guests of such a large amount.

Location was great. Breakfast was very good but limited. the beach facilities are great and the hotel is on the best stretch of beach. Staff is also very polite.

booking the deluxe room which is the basic option but not cheap in the slightest, only gives you access to a basic menu for breakfast. Room do not have coffee and tea facilities ( the high rooms do), and lack of comfortable seats. I think a 5 star hotel could afford to give its guest a cappuccino at breakfast or a Nespresso machine in their room. These options are nowadays available in many other hotels worldwide and in Mexico. Like anybody else says in the reviews, you can clearly hear anything that happens in the other rooms. I was able other our neighbours' phone txt.

Location is great staff is wonderfull I wish they turn off the music during yoga on the beach and did not have two competing music list playing and always neon lights on . They also need to keep up the gym equipment 4 of the machine did not work . The bikes rentals should be free and so should the additional 3 items for the eggs and cappucino at breakfast it is not warranted for a property of that standing . Everything else is wonderful

The hotel styling was very appealing and something special for holidays. Breakfast was nice and with good choice. Quiet part of the island so very relaxing and enjoyable. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Beach bar separate from the beach and isolated a little. Difficult to get beach beds as people reserving beds from early morning with their beach towels. The hotel had a non-reserve bed/towel policy but it wasn’t implemented.

This is my second time staying at the property. The staff is so welcoming and are quick to resolve any issues or concerns. The room itself is so spacious and it’s absolutely beautiful location, in my opinion with some of the best beaches in Holbox. The breakfast is a wide variety with delicious fresh juices, fruit and very accommodating waitstaff. You can tell everyone at the property is there to make sure you have a truly wonderful experience!

The noise level… the rooms while beautiful do nothing to keep out noise. They are wooden so you hear every little noise. It appears most people could careless that they make a ton of noise especially if they are packing up for a super early morning start. They truly need to make people understand at check in there’s people under them and they need to be respectful and hit that point home. I also wish they offered a change of menu on the breakfast from time to time … while there’s a good variety it does get old after a little bit.

This property was much better than ratings and reviews suggest. It’s on the best part of the beach within a 15 minute walk to town. unfortunately, while we were there we had a lot of wind that brought in a ton of seaweed. The hotel cannot help this and did what they could to clear the area. the rooms were large and comfortable. The staff were amazing!!!! They were so kind and made us feel very special during our birthday celebrations. The best part of our stay for sure :) Because of the seaweed we stayed by the pool mostly and it was lovely. The grounds were maintained well and the breakfast was great each day! also, plenty of hot water compared to other places I’ve stayed in Mexico :)

$15 per drink is steep!!! Also, the food we ordered was not great for the price. much better options in town. The rooms are definitely not sound proof, but it was quiet enough that we did not need ear plugs that I brought just in case. The sink in the room was annoying because it was low pressure and only came on for short durations with motion of your hand.

I was a bit nervous because of the conflicting reviews, but am so happy I stayed here. The rooms were beautiful and clean just like the photos, the staff (especially front desk) was super friendly and helpful, the beach was one of the nicest on the island (little seaweed, plenty of covered beach beds, spacious) and the breakfast was great (not sure why people complain about it). This part of the island is much more peaceful, which I preferred, and worth the 15 minute walk or $150 taxi to town.

unfortunately as many reviews mention, the rooms can be super loud. ear plugs helped it for the most part, and if I return, I would just request a top level room that isn’t street facing.
