The resort was stunning and facilities were brilliant. Location of the resort was just right in terms of transfer time from the airport. There was an array of restaurants to choose from and the pools were more than what I had expected. All the staff were super friendly and very helpful with everything.

The beach is rocky and for someone not quite stable on their feet, it was a challenge that marred my personal experience. Tipping culture is in your face the whole time and for someone who saves for an all inclusive package, I felt pressured to follow the 'norm' of tipping so the additional financial burden was very unwelcome.

Very spacious resort. There was something for everyone.

The property was fine but the biggest issue was a natural phenomenon, seaweed. It was a great pity that we couldn’t enjoy the beach and swim in the sea. The sea was brown and looked and smelt disgusting. We had to pay for a couple of trips to go elsewhere to enjoy the beach. The local people confirmed the seaweed issues stretched from the top of Cancun right down the Riviera Maya and lasts from June to October every year. Even though we had to pay to enjoy another beach location on the Maya the seaweed was considerably reduced so you could enjoy the sea. Otherwise the hotel and resort was fantastic.

The food was amazing, and the cocktails. We absolutely loved all the restaurants. Privilege lounge was surprisingly good. We also loved route 66 and La Locanda, and Margarita was fantastic. The vibe of the place was really lovely too. There was a coffee shop that was pretty decent that people hang out in the am. Get there smack on 730 - long lines in the early am. My toddler loved the animals. There are monkeys and turtles and Coati etc.

More food related content - Steakhouse was ok - not bad not great Everything was pretty good. I can’t really find anything to complain about.

I didn’t like that there is no division in the different levels you pay for. Everyone could use our “privilege” pool, premium drinks, bars etc. It didn’t feel worth it to pay for the privilege if other people who don’t pay for it can use it as they please. I hope this will be resolved some day. That’s why I give it a 8 instead of a 10

This was our 4th time staying at Ocean Riviera Paradise… the food is always wonderful. Facilities are great and convenient. Not an overly huge hotel but has everything you need close by. Staff is wonderful Diego in Pez Vela always went out his way to make us feel like family. Rooms are wonderful, clean and comfortable. Pools are awesome. Alot of activities for the kids. Nightly shows were fantastic.

The only reason it wasn’t a perfect stay was because of the lack of beach now. But it’s not the resorts fault… hurricane took back a lot of the beach back. Also wish they had more trollies to take people where they need to go. We spent alot of time always waiting on the trolley. Pool bar closes @6m even tho the pool is open till 8pm.

Good food variety; good service in restaurants. Overall friendly professional staff, everywhere.

The Buffet Hours are until 10.30 p.m. I went there yesterday at 9.30 and many food items were finished, unfilled/replaced. I did not have a good final night dinner.

All the food was outstanding. Breakfast until 11.30 a.m. No reservations needed for specialty restaurants. Friendly and helpful staff. Concierge in each building, making it easy to get help when needed. Spacious rooms.

Poor coffee and tea service everywhere. No self-serve coffee machine in buffet, making you dependent on flagging down super-busy staff. The coffee and tea that came was always tepid. This was also true of the specialty restaurants. Their defense was that they had a separate coffee shop, but if you wanted a hot coffee or tea WITH your meal, this was no solution. Weak or nonexistent wifi signal. Extremely loud music at night outside the Italian restaurant (Locanda) destroying the peace of a meal al fresco.

I looked really hard through basically every hotel in the area of Playa del Carmen. It's hard to get a feeling for what is really a good place to stay at and what is not. Let me tell you - the Ocean Riviera Paradise definitely is a good place to stay! The pictures (I was told they were taken over 5 years ago) don't do the hotel justice. The food is amazing (!), the staff extremely friendly and there are plenty of pools where you can find a spot to relax. Also, when we were there (February) we didn't notice the children at all, even though that was something we were worried about. Getting to downtown Playa is a bit hard (taxi is minimum 20$ one way) but aside from that this hotel is great for a beach vacation. The gym is also great and the Margaritas are tasty. Though, I have to warn fellow Europeans here - the beer is very americanized and tastes bland. Big shoutout to Elias who was in charge of taking care of the guests at house no. 4. My family and I had a great time thanks to his assistance.

Not always easy to get to downtown Playa del Carmen. Also, they should get someone from Europe to teach the staff to be more efficient. It takes way too long to take away dirty plates and clean the tables. And it definitely is not the lack of staff (there is plenty) but because it appears there is a proper education and sense of efficiency missing.

beautiful, the buildings weren’t huge and plenty of pools. lots of fun activities all day and night. adults need a night club too, seems to be all kids lol.

restaurants weren’t always open and no good snack bars at pools, it would be nice to have that option to have lunch poolside with a burger and tacos, chips & salsa, guacamole - it’s Mexico!! food in general was decent, a lot of the same stuff at each restaurant.

The service of the people who worked there was amazing! We have never had such good customer service. Angel at the privilege club was so nice and friendly and did everything in his power to make sure we had the best possible stay! His friendly demeanour and smile made our day: Likewise, Liliana was so helpful to us during our stay and made sure we had everything we needed. Everyone was so friendly, the beach facilities were amazing and the food was delicious. It was the perfect place to relax!
