From the get go, hotel Ma’xanab far exceeded my expectations due to the amazing facilities and the incredible work and attentiveness of the staff. José, Milo and Hermelindo specifically were members of staff who really made a difference to the entire experience. They were extremely kind and always ready to answer any questions we might have and really provided a great service. The food was exceptional and deserves a lot of credit, this added to the experience being even more amazing and I would love to return at some point in the future. Overall it was a perfect experience I had and not a bad word to say about this hotel.

A boutique hotel with a small number of rooms and a full focus on a specific guest. The staff is wonderfully responsive, insanely friendly and always ready to help in any situation. It's simple: you don't need to think about anything in advance, all excursions, transfers, restaurant reservations will be helped by the hotel staff.very stylish and minimalistic design. The location is perfect for everything!the best restaurants are nearby. The hotel is located in the middle of a tourist street. P.S.:We are especially grateful to Sofia and Valeri ,they’re the best !

Choose a room with a private pool!

The staff was awesome! Sofia and Valeria at the front desk were great! Sofia helped us make a reservation and messaged another restaurant to make sure they knew we were celebrating my bday/wedding anniversary. The hotel had a whatsapp and were so responsive to every question/request we had. The food and drinks were good. The breakfast options were great. The guys at the restaurant were very nice. Air conditioning was good. There was seaweed on the beach but the area near the hotel was cleaned up every day.

These are very small issues and likely just due to personal preference... the room was very dark (great for sleeping and ambiance in general) but a little hard to put on make up. There is no door between the toilet area and bedroom. The gratuity is already included in the bill at the restaurant/beach club and its not exactly the most clear but was fine since they did a great job. Also lots of flies when you are laying at the beach.

Private, peaceful little piece of paradise perfect for a couples getaway. Could bring the kids but honestly, it’s such a romantic place…better for some adult time. Clear waters, excellent service and a dreamy room with private small pool on your balcony overlooking the water. Food was also top notch. No need for fancy outfits. Bring a bikini, cover up and sandals…and be sure to get a passion fruit mezcalita!

Outside of the resort, the little town has declined since we were there three years ago. Many businesses closed or burnt down…not going into why, but it’s sad because this area is so gorgeous and has so much potential. As a woman, I wouldn’t walk alone on the street at night. I hope things improve for both tourists and the local people.

Clean, quiet, and excellently located, close to everything. The food is very delicious, and the staff is excellent and very helpful.

It's relatively very expensive for the amount we paid. The beach is very dirty with algae. There are hotels that clean the beaches of algae, but this wasn't the case at this hotel, despite it being five stars and very expensive. The water is very dirty with algae, but this problem exists on all the beaches in Tulum. The breakfast menu is not delicious or satisfying. There is no open buffet, only a menu from which you order your meal. The hotel is very small, consisting of only 16 rooms, which I didn't know beforehand. However, this made it a quiet and comfortable place.

The whole team of staff were simply wonderful. The service is exceptional and the food is good. It is a very nice and relaxed spot, which is appreciated when you need a break from the thumping music in tulum. It is a beautiful hotel and the service is impeccable. Would 100% stay again

The private outdoor pool area was unusable because of the bugs. This was a huge part of why we were willing to pay in this price bracket so we’re disappointed not to be able to use our outdoor space at all. If you get a jungle room you are so sheltered from the wind that the mosquitoes are unbearable. The room also had a slight musty smell, mainly from the humidity. But the staff provided us with a dehumidifier. Overall it was slightly overpriced for what it was - the price of a massage was more than double what you could get on the beach front done by the same masseurs.

We stayed at Hotel Ma’Xanab as the first stop in our holiday to celebrate our recent engagement. From before we arrived the hotel was exceptional in communicating with us and providing us with all the information we needed ahead of our stay. From the moment we arrived we absolutely loved the place. The welcome from staff was amazing and they knew us by name from the main desk to the beach club. The room was beautifully decorated and one of the most spacious hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. The setting is incredible in an amazing location on Tulum beach. The beach was one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve been on and the service at the beach club particularly from Rogelio was amazing. The location was also perfect for short walks to many lovely restaurants along the road. We also enjoyed the complimentary bikes that the hotel provided to cycle to nearby sites such as Tulum ruins. Overall this is one of our favourite hotels ever and has so many 5 star touches that makes it so unique and stand out. We cannot wait to return.

Very hard to fault the property as it was exceptional. If I had to criticise it I would say the pillows were a bit hard but that is personal preference. It is probably worth noting that the mosquitos are very active and we had lots of bites. Not the hotel’s fault and to be expected with such a tropical location with jungle surroundings but Would recommend that people bring plenty of insect repellant

The best hotel we stayed at on our vacation! We were met by a really friendly reception area and The staff who worked there was really helpfull, and The always greeted us with big smiles! We also got a free upgrade of our room, which was amazing! The atmosphere at The hotel was chill with spacious and beautifull outside area! The breakfasts were amazing! The room was spacious and well equipped with all essentials. We also had our privat balcony with our privat jacuzi! I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to the tourists who want to visit tulum! Will be back to this place soon!

the staff - amazing job done by front desk, always going the extra mile. thank you everyone at the front desk, especially Adan for organizing a massage/therapy on special request. thank you Walter, Jose & all the restaurant staff - the food is amazing!!! also the trips that were organized by the hotel are so great - we were taken to private cenote and had an amazing tour guide. all was just accustomed to our private and personal experience.

some parts of our (twin) room were kind of falling apart - the tap in the bathroom or the curtain closing wooden sticks. pillows are definitely too high and strong / flat pillows are necessary to add for a pillow menu.

It is hard to describe how wonderful this hotel is - I don't even know where to begin. We went to Tulum for our Honeymoon and this hotel was the best decision we made. Upon arrival our room wasn't quite ready so we spent some time in the bar area with the wonderful and accomodating bar staff - they were beyond amazing, so helpful, kind and great conversation. We were shown to our room where we were given an upgrade to suite with a pool and jungle view. The room was beyond our expectations, it was stunning. My husband and I will miss the bed and the pillows - the comfiest we have ever had. The room was large and spacious, and we had not one, not two but three showers in our room!! The hotel as a whole just felt so relaxed, the ethos at the hotel is chilled and this is what drew us to the hotel. The music plays from 12pm-10pm, which was perfect for us in comparison to some of the more lively beach clubs. The food and drinks were just fantastic - again a special shout out to the staff working at the beach including the bar and restaurant - amazing. Finally, we would like to especially thank Valeria who works at reception. She is an absolute credit to Ma'xanab, just such amazing customer service. Not only did she recommend us places to eat each night (fantastic recommedations), she also booked them for us. She helped us out with all sorts of things on our trip and just really made us feel at home - we will miss her! The reception staff as a whole were fantastic and were always just on the other end of whatsapp if we needed them, replying so quickly. Finally, the maids at the hotel were also amazing, always refilling our water, checking if we needed a turn down service, and the room was always spotless. We can't wait to go back, we have serious holiday blues and this is all down the hotel Ma'xanab! Thank you!
