Excellent location, central for the Piazzi Maggiori and exploring beautiful Bologna . Couldnt have been better. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. I liked that it was served until 10.30am. Staff friendly and helpful. The hotel was a good standard although my bathroom needed updating...chipped bath and mouldy grouting. However, it had a lovely power shower.

My main complaint was I could hear the people in the next room...they had a radio/TV on all night so didn't sleep the first night at all. My room was rather small and looked out onto an alley so rather disappointing. Also, when I booked I thought the hotel had a roof terrace but found out that it was only certain rooms which had their own terrace. Slightly disappointed with that. As already mentioned, my bathroom needed updating with the chipped bath and mouldy grouting

The location of the hotel is perfect and it is charming. It is right in the centre near to all the restaurants and attractions. The hotel room size and bathroom were excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with.

The room was at the back of the hotel so there was no view. There was building work going on in the hotel which was noisy one day and started at 9. The breakfast buffet was fine but could have been better. I was disappointed that there was no access to the roof terrace as on the website as I was looking forward to seeing the view from there.

The staff was a highlight, very friendly and profesional. The rooms were comfortable and have everything you need. I do have to add that I have been upgraded to a room with a balcony because of an issue that I will highlight below. I relaly liked the airconditioning too!

My room that I booked at first was out of order it seems. The shower was not working and the toilet didnt work either. The staff gave me a nice upgrade which solved everything after I pointed that out. For the rest, the breakfast is reasonable but the orange juice didnt taste good at all. One of the elevators was out of order also. Those are minor complaints however.

We loved the central location (2 min walk from Piazza Maggiore!), secure valet garage parking for our car, and staying in a lovely room in a building with so much history. The hotel website had provided very detailed instructions for accessing the hotel during ongoing roadworks - however, these weren’t needed, as Google Maps seemed to be completely on top of all the local road closures and got us right to the door without incident! A great buffet breakfast with lots of choice was included in our stay. All staff were really friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome.

Air conditioning unit in the room needs a deep clean and kept spinning very fast causing it to vibrate. Possible service required. Only 1 very small shower gel in the room, just enough for one person for one wash. Considering the time of year and the temperature you may require more than one shower a day! Water in the fridge isn’t free! First hotel I have stayed in that charges for water. I had to go to a local shop and buy some bottles of water for the room. Again, due to the temperature this was a little disappointing. Breakfast was included and it was a reasonable selection but you had to ask the staff for coffee. Again, I haven’t encountered this before with a buffet style breakfast. If you want some fresh orange juice you have to pay for this separately.

The location of the hotel is perfect to explore the wonderful historic district of Bologna. In walking distance to restaurants and shops We booked a suite in the hotel which was very large, beautifully decorated, and very clean. The hotel staff was pleasant and very helpful. Would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again on a return visit to Bologna. We thought the hotel was very reasonably priced and also included a very nice breakfast!

Cannot think of any criticism of the hotel.

The room is confortable with a good bathroom, the location is perfect to explore the city centre.

The breakfast could be better, they have some variety and good products however, I saw some packed snacks and they should give preference to fresh products. Also they could have a coffee machine so that everyone could self service, because it's very hard to find the staff and ask for a cappuccino they are very busy and they don't come to the table very frequently. You sit and then they come to you after 15min, then it takes more 10min to bring your cappuccino, so you receive the cappuccino only when you are about to finish the breakfast.

This was my 3rd stay here. The staff are very helpful and kind. The beds are comfortable and everything is always clean. It is quiet and peaceful. It is in an excellent, central location. The breakfast provided is very good, great choice.

The one thing is that there is no coffee maker in the room, but there is a kettle and there are plenty of cafe bars close by to get coffee and also there is the coffee provided with breakfast of course, which is good coffee! So this negative isn't really a negative!

Location is great. For breakfast missing more vegetable. Perfect capucino.

The internet does not meet standards for a 4-star hotel. Often interupted, and ask for password several times a day. The speed is quite weak - about 5 to max.10 mbs. Likewise the selection of TV channels is only italian. I think you should also include a couple french or english speaking tv channels.

We loved the Hotel Roma. Excellent location (1 minute walk from the Piazza Maggiori), superb breakfasts, clean and comfortable and very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel had bags of character - and felt more 1950s Italian glamour than the typical bland 'international' hotel. Plenty of Italian guests too. Bologna is lovely and so worth a visit, but you could very easily base yourself here and do day trips on the train to Ravenna, Florence, Rimini and many other places. Highly recommended, and will return.
